Functional model modification of precise point positioning considering the time-varying code biases of a receiver

Precise Point Positioning(PPP),initially developed for the analysis of the Global Positing System(GPS)data from a large geodetic network,gradually becomes an effective tool for positioning,timing,remote sensing of atmospheric water vapor,and monitoring of Earth’s ionospheric Total Electron Content(TEC).The previous studies implicitly assumed that the receiver code biases stay constant over time in formulating the functional model of *** this contribution,it is shown this assumption is not always valid and can lead to the degradation of PPP performance,especially for Slant TEC(STEC)retrieval and *** this reason,the PPP functional model is modified by taking into account the time-varying receiver code biases of the two *** is different from the Modified Carrier-to-Code Leveling(MCCL)method which can only obtain the variations of Receiver Differential Code Biases(RDCBs),i.e.,the difference between the two frequencies’code *** the Modified PPP(MPPP)model,the temporal variations of the receiver code biases become estimable and their adverse impacts on PPP parameters,such as ambiguity parameters,receiver clock offsets,and ionospheric delays,are *** is confirmed by undertaking numerical tests based on the real dual-frequency GPS data from a set of global continuously operating reference *** results imply that the variations of receiver code biases exhibit a correlation with the ambient *** the modified functional model,an improvement by 42%to 96%is achieved in the Differences of STEC(DSTEC)compared to the original PPP model with regard to the reference values of those derived from the Geometry-Free(GF)carrier phase *** medium and long term(1×10^(4) to 1.5×10^(4) s)frequency stability of receiver clocks are also signifi-cantly improved.

As one of the Analysis Centers(AC)of the international gnss service(IGS),Wuhan University(WHU)has been contributing to the IGS by providing ultra-rapid as well as rapid orbit and clock solutions for the established GPS and GLONASS since *** the same year,the IGS initiated the Multi-gnss Experiment(MGEX)to support the analysis of the emerging gnss systems and prepare the IGS for Multi-gnss,which includes GPS,GLONASS,the European Galileo system,the Chinese Beidou Navigation Satellite System(BDS),the Japanese Quasi-Zenith Satellite System(QZSS)and the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System(IRNSS/NaVIC).The major products,i.e.,orbits,Earth Orientation Parameters(EOPs),satellite clock as well as attitude have also been provided by WHU since *** recently,WHU has engaged the third reprocessing of IGS for generating the highly accurate station coordinates as inputs for establishment of the international Terrestrial Reference Frame(ITRF)2020 during 2019—*** article presents the recent major advancements of the IGS AC at Wuhan University,including precise products,real-time products,bias products,antenna phase center calibration,and the non-linear motion modeling for gnss Reference Stations.

Consistency of MGEX Orbit and Clock Products

The analysis centers of the Multi-gnss Pilot Project of the international gnss service provide orbit and clock products for the global navigation satellite systems(gnsss)Global Positioning System(GPS),GLONASS,Galileo,and BeiDou,as well as for the Japanese regional Quasi-Zenith Satellite System(QZSS).Due to improved solar radiation pressure modeling and other more sophisticated models,the consistency of these products has improved in recent *** current orbit consistency between different analysis centers is on the level of a few centimeters for GPS,around one decimeter for GLONASS and Galileo,a few decimeters for BeiDou-2,and several decimeters for *** clock consistency is about 2 cm for GPS,5 cm for GLONASS and Galileo,and 10 cm for *** terms of carrier phase modeling error for precise point positioning,the various products exhibit consistencies of 2–3 cm for GPS,6–14 cm for GLONASS,3–10 cm for Galileo,and 10–17 cm for BeiDou-2.
