Blood vessels are essential for nutrient and oxygen delivery and waste removal.Scaffold-repairing materials with functional vascular networks are widely used in bone tissue engineering.Additive manufacturing is a manufacturing technology that creates three-dimensional solids by stacking substances layer by layer,mainly including but not limited to 3D printing,but also 4D printing,5D printing and 6D printing.It can be effectively combined with vascularization to meet the needs of vascularized tissue scaffolds by precisely tuning the mechanical structure and biological properties of smart vascular scaffolds.Herein,the development of neovascularization to vascularization to bone tissue engineering is systematically discussed in terms of the importance of vascularization to the tissue.Additionally,the research progress and future prospects of vascularized 3D printed scaffold materials are highlighted and presented in four categories:functional vascularized 3D printed scaffolds,cell-based vascularized 3D printed scaffolds,vascularized 3D printed scaffolds loaded with specific carriers and bionic vascularized 3D printed scaffolds.Finally,a brief review of vascularized additive manufacturing-tissue scaffolds in related tissues such as the vascular tissue engineering,cardiovascular system,skeletal muscle,soft tissue and a discussion of the challenges and development efforts leading to significant advances in Intelligent vascularized tissue regeneration is presented.

This paper presents a framework for parallel Intelligent education that involves physical and virtual learning for a personalized learning experience.We especially focus on Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer(ChatGPT)owing to its considerable potential to supplement regular class learning.We address the strengths and weaknesses of learning with ChatGPT.Finally,we discuss the challenges and solutions of the proposed parallel Intelligent education with ChatGPT.

1Introduction Data are at the heart of Intelligent rail systems in the high-speed transportation sector(Zhou et al.,2020;Ho et al.,2021;Hu et al.,2021;Chen et al.,2022).The core of modern Intelligent railroad systems typically includes rail transportation and equipment monitoring models learned from large datasets,which are often optimized for specific data and workloads(Zhu et al.,2019;Tan et al.,2020).While these Intelligent railroad systems have been widely adopted and successful,their reliability and proper function will change as the data used changes.If the data used(on which the system operates)deviates from the fundamental constraints of the initial data(on which the system is trained)then,in that case,the system performance degrades,and the results inferred by the system model become unreliable,so the system model must be retrained and redeployed to re-store reliable inference results(Sharma and Chandel,2013).The mechanism for assessing the trustworthiness of Intelligent rail system inferences is of paramount importance,especially for rail systems performing safety-critical or high-impact operations.

Controlling electromagnetic waves and information simultaneously by information metasurfaces is of central importance in modern society.Intelligent metasurfaces are smart platforms to manipulate the wave-information-matter interactions without manual intervention by synergizing engineered ultrathin structures with active devices and algorithms,which evolve from the passive composite materials for tailoring wave-matter interactions that cannot be achieved in nature.Here,we review the recent progress of Intelligent metasurfaces in wave-information-matter controls by providing the historical background and underlying physical mechanisms.Then we explore the application of Intelligent metasurfaces in developing novel wireless communication architectures,with particular emphasis on metasurface-modulated backscatter wireless communications.We also explore the wave-based computing by using the Intelligent metasurfaces,focusing on the emerging research direction in Intelligent sensing.Finally,we comment on the challenges and highlight the potential routes for the further developments of the Intelligent metasurfaces for controls,communications and computing.

Intelligent and ecological coal mining as well as clean utilization technology in China: Review and prospects

Coal is an essential fossil fuel in China; however, coal mining and its utilization are being under the increasing pressure from ecological and environmental protection. Therefore, the consulting project "Technical Revolution in Ecological and Efficient Coal Mining and Utilization & Intelligence and Diverse Coordination of Coal-based Energy System," initiated by Chinese Academy of Engineering, puts forward three stages(3.0, 4.0 and 5.0) of China's coal industry development strategy. Aimed at "reduced staff,ultra-low ecological damage, and emission level near to natural gas," breakthroughs should be achieved in the following three key technologies during the China Coal Industry 3.0 stage(2016–2025): including Intelligent coal mining, ecological mining, ultra-low emission and environmental protection. This paper focuses on the development trends of the China Coal Industry 3.0 and its support for China Coal Industry 4.0 and 5.0 is analyzed and prospected as well, which may offer technical assistance and strategy orientation for realizing the transformation from traditional coal energy to clean energy.

An overview of protected satellite communications in Intelligent age

Protected satellite communications(SatComs) exhibit specific characteristics such as security,intelligence, anti-jamming, and nuclear disaster survivability. They constitute one of the key research topics in modern military communications and have become the basic means for implementing strategic and tactical command and control. Currently, the United States military is using the latest advanced extremely high-frequency(AEHF) system to provide protected communications. Other countries are also employing their own protected SatCom systems to meet future operational requirements. Furthermore, in the modern Intelligent age, many Intelligent-related technologies are introduced into the protected SatCom systems to provide more secure and efficient communication services. In this paper, a comprehensive overview of the protected SatCom systems is presented. More specifically, a system overview of the protected SatComs is illustrated. Our focus is placed on the critical technologies and practical applications, and finally discuss remaining challenges and look forward to the future research directions. It is undoubted that the protected SatCom is one of the most important systems in military communications, both now and in the future.

Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is one of the leading causes of vision loss and can be effectively avoided by screening,early diagnosis and treatment.In order to increase the universality and efficiency of DR screening,many efforts have been invested in developing Intelligent screening,and there have been great advances.In this paper,we survey DR screening from four perspectives:1) public color fundus image datasets of DR;2) DR classification and related lesion-extraction approaches;3) existing computer-aided systems for DR screening;and 4) existing issues,challenges,and research trends.Our goal is to provide insights for future research directions on DR Intelligent screening.
