Research on the integrated planning of Blue-Green Space towards Urban-Rural Resilience:Conceptual Framework and Practicable Approach

Facing the impacts of climate change and the ecological environmental problems caused by urbanization, urban-rural resilience is a new value goal of territorial space development. Blue-green space is an interconnected network system of natural and artificial green space and water bodies, which can dissolve the internal and external pressures of the system by way of mitigatory acceptance and adaptive interaction, reduce the impact of climate change and artificial construction disturbances, and provide diversified composite functions. By recognizing the connotation of the concept of blue-green space, its composite ecological functionality and its relationship with the value of urban-rural resilience, this paper constructs a conceptual framework for the integrated planning of blue-green space in urban and rural areas with “resilient objectives, resource identification, integrated configuration,differentiated regulation”. The paper proposes an integrated and coordinated multi-scale practicable approach of blue-green space planning(i.e., the construction of the blue-green corridor network, the configuration of blue-green open space, the allocation of blue-green infrastructure) and the regulation-based urban-rural transect, with the aim of improving the hydroecological performance and composite functional services in order to realize urban and rural resilience.

Urban forests play an important role in the thermal comfort and overall life of local populations in large-and medium-sized *** study analyzes urban forest loss and maps land use and land cover(LULC)changes between 1991 and 2018 by evaluating the use of urban planning instruments for the mitigation of urban forest loss in Jo?o Pessoa,*** this purpose,satellite-derived LULC images from 1991,2006,2010 and 2018 and data on urban forest loss areas obtained using the Google Earth Engine were *** addition,this paper also discusses the instruments used for integrated urban planning,which are(a)the legal sector,responsibility and nature;(b)the urban expansion process;and(c)the elements of urban *** results show a clear shift in land use in the study *** major changes in LULC classes occurred in urban areas and herbaceous vegetation,while the greatest loss was in arboreal/shrub ***,an increase in the pressure to occupy zones intended for environmental preservation could be *** results showed similar accuracies with other studies and more spatial *** characteristics of the patterns,traces,and hotspots of urban expansion and forest cover loss were *** highlighted the potential use of this proposed framework to be applied and validated in other parts of the world to help better understand and quantify various aspects of urban-related problems such as urban forest loss mapping using instruments for integrated urban planning and low-cost approaches.

integrated transmission and generation planning model in a leregulated environment

After the deregulation of the Power Sector in the U.S., planning for generation and transmission capacities is decentralized. There is, however, still need for the long term integrated planning of generation and transmission capacities at the macro level, since these two sectors must operate in a coordinated manner. This paper presents a model for integrating generation and transmission expansion planning to identify an indicative expansion plan for the total sector at the macro level. The argument for an integrated model is supported using evidence from integrated planning efforts in real life systems. The application of the proposed model is illustrated using an example that requires expansion of generation and transmission capacities over three regions in a deregulated power system. The example considers that addition of generating capacity should come from renewable sources. The test results show the potential cost saving from integrated planning.

The approach to planning,design and operation of distribution networks have significantly changed due to the proliferation of distributed energy resources(DERs)together with load growth,energy storage technology advancements and increased consumer *** of active distribution systems(ADS)has been a very hot topic in the 21st Century.A large number of studies have been done on ADS *** paper reviews the state of the art of current ADS ***,the influences of DERs on the ADS planning are ***,the characteristics and objectives of ADS planning are ***,up to date planning model and some related research are highlighted in different areas such as forecasting load and distributed generation,mathematical model of ADS planning and solution ***,the paper explores some directions of future research on ADS planning including planning collaboratively with all elements combined in ADS,taking into account of joint planning in secondary system,coordinating goals among different layers,integrating detailed operation simulations and regular performance based reviews into planning,and developing advanced planning tools.

A collaborative approach for urban underground space development toward sustainable development goals:Critical dimensions and future directions

The utilization of urban underground space(UUS)offers an effective solution to urban problems but may also negatively affect urban ***,UUS development needs better concerted guidelines to coordinate various urban systems and the multiple components of the underground *** Development Goals(SDGs),which should be viewed as important yardsticks for UUS development,do not explicitly mention urban underground space,although many of them are affected by both the positive and negative consequences of its *** fill this gap,this review lays the foundations of relevant UUS concepts and uses exemplary cases to reveal that 11 out of 17 SDGs can be linked with UUS *** linkages also manifest that land administration,integrated planning,architectural design,and construction technology are critical dimensions for increasing the contributions of UUS to the realization of *** achieve multi-disciplinary synergies among these four critical dimensions,a collaborative approach framework based on spatial data infrastructure is ***,this work provides academics and practitioners with a holistic view of sustainable UUS development.

Sustainable Urban Expansion:Lessons from Three Cases in Europe

The article deals with sustainable urban expansion of cities in Europe and *** guiding question asks how planned urban expansion can promote urban sustainability and which perspectives this provides for future urban development in *** authors analyze three good practice examples in *** analytical framework includes five factors,i.e.,strategy,environment,diversity,connectivity,and *** a result,they derive six factors for successful sustainable urban expansion:①strategic planning guidance,②active participation and engagement,③quality-oriented master planning and design codes,④integrated and coordinated planning and implementation,⑤strong local government involvement,and⑥a strong drive towards *** correspond with recent trends in urban China and may help to make unavoidable urban growth more sustainable in the future.

Peri-urban greenspace spatial pattern evolved in ecological response to locally mountainous context:A case study in TaiYuan District,Baoji city,China

Urban area is deeply influenced by conditions of the surrounding peri-urban greenspaces,which provides considerable insight into the spatial structure,functional performance,ecological quality and the potential planning of urban area as a ***,peri-urban area is suffering from the extensive engulftnent on the ramification of valuable *** topic would be unfolded in conjunction with the planning of a major portion of peri-urban area of Baoji city in China,and it specifically illustrates how to bring the recognition into planning practice in the following five major topics that are progressively built on symbiotic relationship:1) environmental degradation and the role of peri-urban greenspace on citywide level,2) integrated land-use pattern including built and unbuilt land,3) greenspaces pattern and improvement of hill-slope transitional ecosystem,4) recreation and urban development opportunity,and 5) urban agriculture and rural *** research highlights stewardship of all land and functioning land-use integrity of built and unbuilt land as a whole.
