VARIABLE SELECTION FOR RECURRENT EVENT DATA WITH informative censoring

Recurrent events data with a terminal event （e.g., death） often arise in clinical and ob- servational studies. Variable selection is an important issue in all regression analysis. In this paper, the authors first propose the estimation methods to select the significant variables, and then prove the asymptotic behavior of the proposed estimator. Furthermore, the authors discuss the computing algorithm to assess the proposed estimator via the linear function approximation and generalized cross validation method for determination of the tuning parameters. Finally, the finite sample estimation for the asymptotical covariance matrix is also proposed.

Regression analysis of interval-censored failure time data has recently attracted a great deal of attention partly due to their increasing occurrences in many *** this paper,we discuss a type of such data,multivariate current status data,where in addition to the complex interval data structure,one also faces dependent or informative censor*** inference,a sieve maximum likelihood estimation procedure is developed and the proposed estimators of regression parameters are shown to be asymptotically consistent and *** the implementation of the method,an EM algorithm is provided,and the results from an extensive simulation study demonstrate the validity and good performance of the proposed inference *** an illustration,the proposed approach is applied to a tumorigenicity experiment.

This paper discusses regression analysis of interval-censored failure time data arising from the accelerated failure time model in the presence of informative *** the problem,a sieve maximum likelihood estimation approach is proposed and in the method,the copula model is employed to describe the relationship between the failure time of interest and the censoring or observation *** I-spline functions are used to approximate the unknown functions in the model,and a simulation study is carried out to assess the finite sample performance of the proposed approach and suggests that it works well in practical *** addition,an illustrative example is provided.

Misclassified current status data arises if each study subject can only be observed once and the observation status is determined by a diagnostic test with imperfect sensitivity and *** the situation,another issue that may occur is that the observation time may be correlated with the interested failure time,which is often referred to as informative censoring or observation *** is well-known that in the presence of informative censoring,the analysis that ignores it could yield biased or even misleading *** this paper,the authors consider such data and propose a frailty-based inference *** particular,an EM algorithm based on Poisson latent variables is developed and the asymptotic properties of the resulting estimators are *** numerical results show that the proposed method works well in practice and an application to a set of real data is provided.
