Temporal and spatial variations of air pollution across China from 2015 to 2018

This study investigated concentrations of PM_(2.5),PM_(10),SO_(2),NO_(2),CO and O_(3),and air quality index(AQI)values across 368 cities in China's Mainland during 2015–*** study further examined relationships of air pollution status with local industrial capacities and vehicle *** correlations were found between industrial capacities(coal,pig iron,crude steel and rolled steel)and air pollution *** statistical and significant reductions of PM_(2.5),PM_(10),SO_(2),NO_(2),CO and AQI values were observed in response to various laws and regulations in industrial sectors,both particle and gaseous pollutants still had annual average concentrations above recommended *** order to further reduce air pollution,more efforts can be done to control traffic emissions caused by minicars and heavy trucks,which was revealed after investigating 16 vehicle *** was also consistent with the apparent air quality improvement during the COVID-19 lockdown period in China in 2020,despite industrial operations being still active at full capacities.

Water pollution footprints induced by industrial import and export in China

With the rapid development of foreign trade in China, industrial import and export has been an absolute subject in recent years. The huge trade surplus of import and export trade of industrial products brings not only high profits, but also pollution costs as well. Based on the concept of water pollution footprints(WPFs), this study applies the input-output method and calculates pollutant-producing coefficients of 20 major industrial sectors in China and investigates the WPFs caused by the import and export trades of these industrial sectors. The research results show that WPF resulting from exports exceeds that of imports from 2011 to 2015 in China. The net inflow of pollution footprint is mainly from paper mills, printing and stationery manufacturing, and textile industry; whereas a great number of WPFs are transferred to other countries by these sectors,such as metal mining and dressing industry and oil and natural gas exploitation industry.

Synthesis of CMS under ultrasonic irradiation

Starch is a granular mixture of nomopolymers of α-D-glucopyranosyl units. These polymer molecules are hydrogen bonded and aligned radially in the granule. Starch is an important ingredient in manufacturing a wide range of industrial products such as food, paper, textiles, and building materials. Today, starch is chemically modified for speciality use. Modification of starch properties by derivatization is an important factor in the continued and increased use of starch to provide thickening, gelling, binding, adhesive, and film forming functionality. Carboxymethylstarch (CMS) is one of important starch derivatives. The study in exploitation and use of CMS has been acitvated since 1980s. At present, it is widely used in medicine, functional food, commodity, dope and so on.
