Late Paleozoic mafic-intermediate intrusions are widespread in the central Tianshan belt, but their tectonic settings remain controversial. Petrogenesis of these intrusions can provide insights into the tectonic evolution of the belt and its adjacent areas. This study presents new whole-rock geochemical and zircon U-Pb geochronology and Hf isotopic data for the Yaxi diorite and Qianzishan gabbro on the northern margin of the central Tianshan(NW China). Zircon U-Pb dating yielded the magma crystallization ages of 313±4 and 295±4 Ma for the Yaxi diorite and Qianzishan gabbro, respectively. They have lower Mg# values, Ni and Cr contents than typical mantle-derived primary melt, with negative correlations between MgO, TFeO and SiO2 contents, indicating clinopyroxene and olivine fractionation during magma evolution. They are characterized by enrichment of large ion lithophile elements(e.g., Rb, Ba and Sr) and depletion of high field strength elements(e.g., Nb, Ta and Ti) with high Ba/Th and Rb/Y, suggesting that their mantle sources had been metasomatized by slab-derived fluids. In addition, the Qianzishan gabbro has high Al2 O3 contents(19.54 wt.%–20.88 wt.%) and positive Eu anomalies(Eu/Eu*=1.09–1.42), which can be attributed to accumulation of plagioclase. Geochemical and zircon Hf isotopic compositions reveal that both the Yaxi diorite and Qianzishan gabbro were derived from depleted lithospheric mantle in the spinel stability field with insignificant crustal contamination. In association with previous investigations, we suggest that the Yaxi and Qianzishan intrusions were emplaced in a subduction-related environment, which means that the subduction of the Junggar Ocean lasted at least to the earliest Permian.

Shifting cultivation in Mizoram, India: An empirical study of its economic implications

Shifting cultivation is the major occupation and the main source of income of the marginal farmers(Jhumias) in Mizoram. At present, net area sown in Mizoram State is only 5.5%, of which, 16.9% area is devoted to shifting cultivation. Meanwhile, about 54% people, living in the rural areas, are engaged in practicing it. This paper examines economic implications of shifting cultivation in Mizoram, the eastern extension of the Himalaya. A total of 16 villages from eight districts(two villages from each district), were selected for case study, based on their location and distance from the district’s headquarter. Household level survey was conducted and a purposive random sampling method was employed to select households with 34.2% sampling size. The case study reveals that production and yield of the principal crops grown under shifting cultivation has decreased during the last 17 years(2000-2017), whereas, there is a slight increase in area sown. It further shows that although, a large group of Jhumias are practicing shifting cultivation and growing subsistence cereals, yet, their economic viability is significantly less than cash crops. As a result, a large section of people in rural areas are living below poverty line. The study suggests that for sustainable livelihood, cash crops can replace subsistence crops and shifting cultivation can be converted into permanent cultivation through terracing the Jhum plots.

The WHO declared the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)outbreak as a public health emergency of international concern on January 30,2020,and then a pandemic on March 11,***-19 affected over 200 countries and territories worldwide,with 25,541,380 confirmed cases and 852,000 deaths associated with COVID-19 globally,as of September 1,2020.1 While facing such a public health emergency,hospitals were on the front line to deliver health care and psychological *** early detection,diagnosis,reporting,isolation,and clinical management of patients during a public health emergency required the extensive involvement of hospitals in all *** response capacity of hospitals directly determined the outcomes of the prevention and control of an *** COVID-19 pandemic has affected almost all nations and territories regardless of their development level or geographic location,although suitable risk mitigation measures differ between developing and developed *** low-and middle-income countries(LMICs),the consequences of the pandemic could be more complicated because incidence and mortality might be associated more with a fragile health care system and shortage of related resources.2-3 As evidenced by the situation in Bangladesh,India,Kenya,South Africa,and other LMICs,socioeconomic status(SES)disparity was a major factor in the spread of disease,potentially leading to alarmingly insufficient preparedness and responses in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.4 Conversely,the pandemic might also bring more unpredictable socioeconomic and long-term impacts in LMICs,and those with lower SES fare worse in these *** review aimed to summarize the responsibilities of and measures taken by hospitals in combatting the COVID-19 *** findings are hoped to provide experiences,as well as lessons and potential implications for LMICs.

上房沟钼矿床位于栾川断裂带北侧的华北克拉通南缘,矿体赋存于晚元古代栾川群碎屑岩-碳酸盐建造中。钼成矿经历了早、中、晚3个阶段:早阶段为钾长石-石英-辉钼矿-黄铁矿组合,中阶段为石英-辉钼矿-多金属硫化物组合,晚阶段以方解石-石英-萤石脉为特征。流体包裹体可划分为富/含CO_2型、含子矿物型和NaCl-H_2O型3类。早、中成矿阶段发育较多CO_2-H_2O型和含子晶型包裹体,晚阶段为NaCl-H_2O型包裹体。早阶段流体具有高温(320℃～500℃)、高盐度(31.75～66.75wt%NaCl eqv.)、富CO_2的特点,显示浆控高温热液矿床的特征;中阶段流体具有中温(190℃～400℃)、中等盐度(2.07～12.85 wt%NaCl eqv.,个别超过30 wt%NaCl eqv.)、富/含CO_2特点;晚阶段为中低温(160℃～260℃)、低盐度(～4.8 wt%NaCl eqv.)、贫CO_2的NaCl-H_2O体系。早、中阶段流体沸腾作用强烈,造成CO_2不断逸失、流体氧化性降低、成矿物质大量沉淀,是成矿的重要机制。

With the development of economic and cultural globalization, a large number of proficient and qualified professionals with higher English levels will be needed both in regional and international communication. However, under the influence of exam-oriented education, the traditional teaching mode gives first priority to reading and writing skills while belittles listening and speaking skills, which greatly undermines the cultivation of qualified students. Therefore, how to improve communicative competence, especially listening and speaking ability is a big issue to the college English teachers and researchers. The paper discusses some suggestion to improve college students listening and speaking ability in from the perspective of context theory.
