Single sign-on (SSO) is an identity management technique that provides the ability to use multiple Web services with one set of credentials. However, when the authentication server is down or unavailable, users cannot access these Web services, regardless of whether they are operating normally. Therefore, it is important to enable continuous use alongside SSO. In this paper, we present an identity continuance method for SSO. First, we explain four such continuance methods and identify their limitations and problems. Second, we propose a new solution based on an identifier migration approach that meets the requirement for identity continuance. Finally, we discuss these methods from the viewpoint of continuity, security, efficiency, and feasibility.

Legacy IP address-based access control has met many challenges, because the network nodes cannot be identified accurately based on their variable IP addresses. “Locator/identifier Split” has made it possible to build a network access control mechanism based on the permanent identifier. With the support of “Locator/identifier Split” routing and addressing concept, the identifier-based Access Control (IBAC) makes net-work access control more accurate and efficient, and fits for mobile nodes’ access control quite well. Moreover, Self-verifying identifier makes it possible for the receiver to verify the packet sender’s identity without the third part authentication, which greatly reduces the probability of “identifier Spoofing”.

Dear Editor,Retinitis pigmentosa(RP)is an inherited photoreceptor degeneration disease with high genetic heterogeneity(>90 disease-causing genes according to RetNet:https://***/RetNet/***).Taking a single RP disease gene RHO as an example,there are more than two hundred loss-of-function and gain-of-function mutations identified.1 While gene supplementation therapy has emerged as the most promising treatment for autosomal recessive RP(arRP)and X-linked RP(ClinicalTrials identifier:NCT01482195,NCT03328130,NCT03116113,NCT03252847,NCT03316560),therapeutic approaches to treat autosomal dominant RP(adRP)fall behind due to the low efficiency to disrupt mutant alleles specifically and a broad spectrum of the gain-of-function mutations.

Motivation: Accurate identification and delineation of promoters/TSSs (transcription start sites) is important for improving genome annotation and devising experiments to study and understand transcriptional regulation. Many promoter identifiers are developed for promoter identification. However, each promoter identifier has its own focuses and limitations, and we introduce an integration scheme to combine some identifiers together to gain a better prediction performance. Result: In this contribution, 8 promoter identifiers (Proscan, TSSG, TSSW, FirstEF, eponine, ProSOM, EP3, FPROM) are chosen for the investigation of integration. A feature selection method, called mRMR (Minimum Redundancy Maximum Relevance), is novelly transferred to promoter identifier selection by choosing a group of robust and complementing promoter identifiers. For comparison, four integration methods (SMV, WMV, SMV_IS, WMV_IS), from simple to complex, are developed to process a training dataset with 1400 se- quences and a testing dataset with 378 sequences. As a result, 5 identifiers (FPROM, FirstEF, TSSG, epo- nine, TSSW) are chosen by mRMR, and the integration of them achieves 70.08% and 67.83% correct prediction rates for a training dataset and a testing dataset respectively, which is better than any single identifier in which the best single one only achieves 59.32% and 61.78% for the training dataset and testing dataset respectively.

Antibiotic growth promoters that have been historically employed to control pathogens and increase the rate of animal development for human consumption are currently banned in many countries. Probiotics have been proposed as an alternative to control pathogenic bacteria. Traditional culture methods typically used to monitor probiotic effects on pathogens possess significant limitations such as a lack in sensitivity to detect fastidious and non-culturable bacteria, and are both time consuming and costly. Here, we tested next generation pyrosequencing technology as a streamline and economical method to monitor the effects of a probiotic on microbial communities in juvenile poultry (Gallus gallus domesticus) after exposure to several microbiological challenges and litter conditions. Seven days and repeated again at 39 days following hatching, chicks were challenged with either Salmonella enterica serovar Enteritidis, Campylobacter jejuni, or no bacteria in the presence of, or without a probiotic (i.e., Bacillus subtilis) added to the feed. Three days following each of two challenges (i.e., days 10 and 42, respectively) the microbiome distributions of the poultry caecum were characterized based on 16S rDNA analysis. Generated PCR products were analyzed by automated identification of the samples after pooling, multiplexing and sequencing. A bioinformatics pipeline was then employed to identify microbial distributions at the phylum and genus level for the treatments. In conclusion, our results demonstrated that pyrosequencing technology is a rapid, efficient and cost-effective method to monitor the effects of probiotics on the microbiome of poultry propagated in an agricultural setting.

Data-Centric Routing Mechanism Using Hash-Value in Wireless Sensor Network

Traditional routing protocols as TCP/IP can not be directly used in WSN, so special data-centric routing protocols must be established. The raised data-centric routing protocols can not identify the sensor nodes, because many nodes work under a monitoring task, and the source of data is not so important some times. The sensor node in the network can not judge weather data is come from the some sink node. What’s more, the traditional method use IP to identify sensors in Internet is not suitable for WSN. In this paper, we propose a new naming scheme to identify sensor nodes, which based on a description of sensor node, the description of a sensor node is hashed to a hash value to identify this sensor. The different description generates different identifier. Different from IP schema, this identifier is something about the information of the sensor node. In the above naming scheme, we propose a new data-centric routing mechanism. Finally, the simulation of the routing mechanism is carried out on MATLAB. The result shows our routing mechanism’s predominate increase when network size increase.
