A phase demodulation method for quasi-distributed acoustic sensing(DAS)systems based on a dual-identicalchirped-pulse and weak fiber Bragg gratings(WFBGs)is *** to the use of Rayleigh backscattering light in optical fibers,the implementation of WFBGs can contribute to obtaining an optical signal with a higher signal-to-noise ratio(SNR).The dual-identical-chirped-pulse is generated by a time-delay fiber,and the sinusoidal carrier is generated by the interference between the two chirped pulses reflected by adjacent *** phase of the sinusoidal carrier represents the dynamic strain change posed on the sensing *** Fourier transform is used to directly retrieve the phase *** performance of the phase demodulation from interference signals under different sinusoidal carrier frequencies and SNRs is numerically *** piezoelectric transducer is employed to emulate the sound in the experiment to verify the effectiveness of our *** is shown that the dynamic strain can be well reconstructed at the end of a 101.64 km fiber when the signal SNR is down to 3.234 d *** proposed method enables the application of the long-distance sensing in quasi-DAS systems.

A great number of low-spin identical bands in pairs of odd-A and their non-adjacent even-even nuclei in a region of A=150-190 are found,this fact seems to support the idea that the occurrence of identical bands in neighboring odd-A and even-even nuclei is caused by the cancellation of various factors which influence the moments of inertia of nuclei.

A reliable phenomenological analysis of superdeformed(SD)bands shows that the so-called 'identical' SD bands in general may have different bandhead moments of inertia (δJ_o/J_o≥10^(-2)). Because the dynamic moment of inertia J varies with ω much faster than the kinematic moment of inertia J, and the ω variation of moments of inertia may be quite different for various SD bands, under certain conditions a near equality of J (hence E_γ) of two 'identical' SD bands may occur in certain frequency range (|δE_γ/E_γ|=|δJ/J|～10^(-3)), and the angular momentum alignments may appear to be approximately quantized. But the situation turns out to be different in other frequency regions. The present phenomenological analysis seems to be consistent with the configuration assignments made by the available microscopic theory in the framework of strong-coupling model. No pseudospin symmetry is involved in the present analysis.

In this paper, two mixed integer programming models integrating production scheduling and preventive maintenances are proposed to derive the optimal solutions for the identical machine scheduling problem with unavailability constraints. In the first model, the maintenance activities are performed periodically and the objective is to minimize the makespan. In the second model, the maintenance activities are flexible and the machines' continuous working time cannot exceed a maximum allowed time T; the objective is to minimize the total completion time of jobs. For the first problem, we propose a heuristic longest batch time(LBT) and prove that the worst case error bound of LBT is 2. For the second problem, we develop a heuristic modified smallest processing time(MSPT) based on some properties of the optimal solutions. Computational experiments show that both of the heuristics are effective and efficient compared with the results obtained by CPLEX and the other algorithms.

In the particle-number-conserving treatment of the cranked shell model Hamiltonian (blocking effect being taken into account exactly), the calculated even-odd differences in moments of inertia show large variation and depend sensitively on the location and Coriolis response of the blocked levels. The moments of inertia of the 170Yb, 171Lu [404] 7/2, [402] 5/2, [514] 9/2 and 171Yb [512] 5/2, [633] 7/2 bands at low spin are calculated and the experimental data are reproduced very well. No free parameter was involved in the calculation. The reason of the discrepancy between the observed "identical bands" at low spin and the BCS prediction is discussed.

Objective To detect the cDNA sequence of immunoreactive growth hormone (irGH) in human lymphocytes and to compare it with that of human growth hormone (hGH) in the pituitary. Methods The mRNA of irGH in human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) was detected by Northern blot analysis. The cDNA of irGH was obtained by reverse transcriptase and polymerase chain reaction amplification and obtained by secreening from a cDNA library of human T lmphocytes. The sequence of irGH cDNA was determined and compared with that of the pituitary hGH. Results Very low level of irGH mRNA was detected in human PBMCs by Northern blot analysis. The cDNA sequence of the entire open reading frame of human irGH was 651 bp, which is identical to that of pituitary hGH. Conclusions The same hGH molecule can be produced by human pituitary somatotrophic cells and human peripheral lymphocytes.

An identical Inputs-Adaptive Filter for the Detection of Signal’s Breakdown Points

Detection of the signal’s breakdown points is important for many science and engineering applications. Numerous signal processing methods have been used for this purpose. Of these, the adaptive prediction is simple and easy to implement, however;its simplicity and robustness are hindered by the required delay in the input signal. This paper introduces an efficient alternative to the adaptive prediction in the application of breakdown and inflection points’ detection. Unlike the adaptive predictor, the proposed filter doesn’t require a delay in the primary input to produce the filter’s reference input, which significantly improves the computation speed and overcome the problem of performance sensitivity to the delay value. The Normalized Least-Mean Squares algorithm was used to realize both the adaptive predictor and the proposed filter. The filters were implemented in LabVIEW system design software. The performances of the filters were studied using simulated signals and the simulation results were verified using an experimental signal. The simulation and experimental results showed that the proposed filter efficiently detects the signal breakdowns. Furthermore, the simplicity of the filter offered a significant improvement in the computation speed.
