Therapeutic effects of different drugs on obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome in children

Background:This study aimed to compare the therapeutic effects of different drugs on obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) in children by using a network meta-analysis ***:PubMed,Embase and Cochrane Library were searched from the inception of each database to November *** controlled trials (RCTs) concerning the comparisons in the therapeutic effects of eight placebo-controlled drugs on OSAHS in children were included in this *** meta-analysis combined direct evidence and indirect evidence to evaluate the weighted mean difference (WMD) and surface under the cumulative ranking curves (SUCRA) of therapeutic effects of eight drugs on OSAHS in ***:A total of seven RCTs were finally incorporated into our network *** meta-analysis results revealed that therapeutic effect of placebo was significantly poorer than that of intranasal mometasone furoate,montelukast,budesonide and fiuticasone concerning apnea hypopnea index (AHI) value [WMD=1.40,95% confidence interval (CI)=1.17-1.63;WMD=2.80,95% CI=1.01-4.59;WMD=3.50,95% CI=3.34-3.66;WMD=7.20,95% CI=5.26-9.14,respectively],and fluticasone is better than placebo concerning sleep efficiency (WMD=3.50,95% CI=2.42-4.58);regarding visual analogue scale,the therapeutic effect of placebo was poorer compared with sucralfate and clindamycin (WMD=1.94,95% CI=1.13-2.75;WMD=I.06,95%CI=0.22-1.90),and sucralfate is better than clindamycin (WMD=-0.88,95% CI=-1.65 to-0.11).However,network meta-analysis results showed no obvious difference in the therapeutic effects of different drugs on OSAHS regarding AHI and sleep ***,the best SUCRA value was very high for fluticasone concerning AHI (86.6%) and budesonide concerning sleep efficiency (94.0%) for OSAHS ***:Fluticasone and budesonide have relatively good effects in the treatment of OSAHS in children,thus providing an important guiding significance for the treatment of OSAHS in chil

Background:Obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS)is a contributing factor for non-alcoholic fatty liver di:(NAFLD).Non-invasive algorithms including fatty liver index(FLI)and hepatic steatosis index(HSI)have been used as a screening test for NAFLD in epidemiologic *** aim of this study is to compare the diagnostic accuracy of FLI and HSI for NAFLD detection in adults with ***:We enrolled consecutive adult subjects who were newly diagnosed with OSAHS from March 2016 to January *** was diagnosed by *** accuracy and cut-off point of the FLI and HSI to detect NAFLD were assessed by analyzing the area under the receiver operating characteristic(AUROC)curve and the maximum Youden index analysis,***:The 326 subjects were diagnosed as NAFLD according to ultrasound findings,while 105 subjects who had normal abdominal ultrasonography were grouped as *** FLI and HSI values were significantly higher in patients with NAFLD compared with *** AUROC of FLI and HSI for predicting NAFLD was 0.802(95%confidence interval[CI]0.762-0.839)and 0.753(95%CI 0.710-0.793),*** AUROC of FLI was significantly higher than that of HSI(P=0.0383).The optimal cut-off value of FLI and HSI was 60(sensitivity 66%and specificity 80%)and 35(sensitivity 81%and specificity 60%),***:Both FLI and HSI can serve as screening tools for NAFLD in OSAHS *** FLI shows better performance in diagnosing NAFLD than HSI.

Objective:Sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (SAHS) is a common sleep disorder, which is manifested as a reduction in tidal volume or apnea during sleep, which results in intermittent hypoxia and tissue hypoxia and induces oxidative stress and inflammatory responses. Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a systemic disease contributing to hyperplasia of synovial membrane, cartilage erosion and joint damage. Fibroblast like synoviocytes (FLS), which make up the lining of the synovial membrane, are believed to play a role in the pathogenesis of RA. RA is a series of inflammation-like responses that induce joint damage and dysfunction and impair patients' life quality. This article first introduced the basic features of RA and analyzes the pathogenesis of RA with SAHS. Then the relationship between RA and SAHS was investigated. Finally, the progress in the treatment for RA with SAHS was reviewed emphatically.

OSAHS(Obstructive Sleep Apnea hypopnea Syndrome)is a respiratory disease mainly characterized by limited and repeated pauses of breathing in ***,the optimal treatment is to apply CPAP(Continuous Positive Airway Pressure)ventilation on the upper airway of the patient through a household respiratory ***,if the ventilator mask is designed improperly,it might cause the residue and repeated inhalation of CO2,which will exert an adverse impact on the therapeutic *** research numerically analyzed the CO2 transportation inside a commercial ventilator mask(Mirage SoftGel,ResMed,Australia)based on the reconstructed 3D numerical model of a volunteer's face and performed the improved design of the ventilator mask in terms of the CO2 residual concentration below the *** fluid dynamic analyses showed that at the end time of expiratory,the CO2 residual concentration below the nostrils is close to 4%.To improve the therapeutic effect,we changed the position of the exhaust holes and found that by moving the exhaust holes to the bottom of the ventilator mask,the CO2 residual concentration below the nostrils would be reduced to no more than 1%.This study established a near physiological computational model and provided a new method for the individualized design of the commercial ventilator mask.
