The aim of this work is to investigate the hydrogen-bonding interaction in poly(vinyl alcohol)(PVA)/poly(acrylic acid)(PAA) blending system and its influence on rheological properties in solution and the physical properties in solid state. Introducing PAA into PVA solutions resulted in a thickening behavior of blend *** viscosity of the solutions increased with PAA content increasing,and a maximum viscosity could be obtained when the ratio of PVA/PAA was 70/30. The intermolecular hydrogen-bonding and miscibility between PVA and PAA in solid state were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR) and mechanical *** results displayed the great influence of introducing PAA on the properties of blending *** tensile strength increased from 89.31 MPa to 119.8 MPa and Young’s modulus improved by over 300%with increasing PAA concentration compared with those of pure PVA *** systematically studying the rheological behaviors of solutions and the physical properties of films,the influence of hydrogen-bonding in solutions and solid states were discussed.

An intermediate compound 2, 4-bis（laurylamino）-6-（1-（2-aminoethyl）-piperazine）-1, 3, 5-triazine was prepared by stepwise nucleophilic substitution on triazine ring by lauryl amine and subsequently 1-（2-aminoethyl）-piperazine. Then imidization of perylene-3, 4, 9, 10-tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride with 2,4-bis（laurylamino）-6-（1-（2-aminoethyl）-piperazine）-1, 3, 5-triazine was carried out to afford a novel perylene derivative bearing two melamine blocks （S2） and 1, 6, 7, 12-tetra（4-tert-butyl phenoxy）-perylene-3, 4, 9, 10-tetracarboxylic acid bisimide （S1. The hydrogen-bonding interactions between S1 and S2 were investigated by IH NMR spectrum, UV/Vis spectrum and fluorescence spectrum. The influences on the morphologies of S1·S2 aggregates were investigated. The results show that well-defined nanofibers with a diameter of about 100 nm can be obtained by self-assembly between S1 and S2 only in CH2Cl2 solution. Based on these results, guidelines for the molecular design and self-assembly of supramolecular polymer materials are presented.

In this study, our vibrational spectroscopic analysis is made on hydrogen-bonding between dimethyl sulfoxide and water comprises both experimental Raman spectra and ab initio calculations on structures of various dimethyl sulfoxide/water clusters with increasing water content. The Raman peak position of the v（S=O） stretching mode of dimethyl sulfoxide serves as a probe for monitoring the degree of hydrogen-bonding between dimethyl sulfoxide and water. In addition, the two vibrational modes, namely, the CH3 symmetric stretching mode and the CH3 asymmetric stretching mode have been analysed under different concentrations. We relate the computational results to the experimental vibrational wavenumber trends that are observed in our concentration-dependent Raman study. The combination of experimental Raman data with ab initio calculation leads to a better knowledge of the nature of the hydrogen bonding and the structures of the hydrogen-bonded complexes studied.

We report elastic cross sections for low-energy electron scattering with formamide-(H_(2)O)n complexes(n=1,2)in the energy region of 0.01-8 *** scattering calculations are performed using the R-matrix method in the static-exchange(SE)*** consider three structures of formamide-H_(2)O and six structures of formamide-(H_(2)O)_(2)in the present *** purpose is to investigate effects of water molecules hydrogen-bonding to *** focus on the influence of microsolvation on theπ*andσ*resonances of *** scattering result for complexes shows that the position ofπ*resonance appears at lower or higher energies in the cluster than in the isolated formamide depending on the complex structure and the water role in the hydrogen *** explain this behavior according to the net charge of the *** is found that the microsolvation environment has a substantial effect on the width ofπ**** results indicate that surrounding water molecules may affect the lifetime of the resonances,and hence the process is driven by the anion state,such as the dissociative electron attachment.

hydrogen-bonded polymer complex films with the thickness ranging from 50 nm to 2400 nm were prepared by layer-by-layer （LbL） assembly of poly（2-ethyl-2-oxazoline）（PEOX） and poly（acrylic acid）（PAA）. The dewetting behavior of PEOX/PAA films under hydrothermal condition was investigated. It was found that the dewetting occurred at solid-liquid interface, and the typical morphologies such as holes, irregular cellular structure, and droplets were observed. Atomic force microscopy （AFM） revealed the initial rupture of the film. Microscopic Raman and infrared （IR） imaging demonstrated that the PEOX and PAA chains remained association during the dewetting process.

A novel nickel（Ⅱ） complex Ni（C6H7N）2（SCN）2（H2O）2 （C14H18N4NiO2S2, Mr= 397.15） has been synthesized and structurally characterized by X-ray analysis. The crystal is of monoclinic, space group P21/c with a = 9.212（2）, b = 13.132（3）, c = 7.8794（19） A°, β = 99.142（3）°, Z = 2, V = 41.1（4） A°^3 Dc= 1.402 g/m^3, μ（MoKα） = 1.264 mm^-1, F（000） = 412, R1 = 0.0303 and wR2= 0.0794 for 1387 observed reflections （I 〉 2σ（I））. The title complex shows a 2-D network structure extended by twelve-membered Ni2O2H2S2C2N2 ring and ten-membered NiO2H3S2CN ring.

X-ray crystal structures of co-crystals involving tetra-iso-butyl-resorcin[4]arene 1 with both acetone and acetonitrile solvents were reported. The component 1?2(CH3)2CO 2 assembles such that the resorcin[4]arene adopts a C2v conformation and the acetone serves as hydrogen bond acceptors, forming a 1D hydrogen-bonded polymer. 2 (C50H68O10) crystallizes in the triclinic, space group P1 with a = 10.0440(7), b = 13.7498(9), c = 17.6374(12) ?, α = 77.726(2), β = 86.733(2), γ = 88.634(2)o, V = 2376.1(3) ?3, Dc = 1.159 g/cm3, and Z = 2. The assembly process of component 1?2CH3CN?H2O 3 yields a 2D hydrogen-bonded polymer formed by intermolecular hydrogen bonds between resorcin[4]arene and water molecules. In the case of component 3, the acetonitrile molecule serves as guest inside the bowl of resorcin[4]arene host. 3 (C48H64N2O9) crystallizes in the monoclinic, space group P2/n with a = 13.7570(18), b = 9.0961(12), c = 19.453(3) ?, β = 103.017(3)o, V = 2371.7(5) ?3, Dc = 1.138 g/cm3, and Z = 2.

The title compound, [Cu（phen）2（SO4）（H2O）]·0.5C4H4O4·7H2O （phen = 1,10-phe-nan throline and C4H4O4 = fumaric acid）, has been synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal is of triclinic, space group P1^- with a = 11.4827（2）, b = 11.9086（2）, c = 13.77350（10） A, α = 80.6830（10）, β = 66.6480（10）, γ = 64.048000）°, V = 1554.63（4） A^3, Mr = 722.17, Z = 2, Dc = 1.543 g/cm^3,μ = 0.845 mm^-1, F（000） = 750, R = 0.0349 and wR = 0.0837 for 4754 observed reflections （1 〉 2σ（I））. The compound contains a six-coordinated copper（Ⅱ） center, which is surround by four N atoms of two phen ligands （Cu-N distances in the range of 1.997（2）- 2.225（2） A）, one sulfate O atom （Cu-O = 2.0037（17） A） and one water O atom （Cu-O（Sw） = 2.719（2） A,） in a distorted octahedral geometry. Extensive hydrogen-bonding interactions are involved in water molecules, ligated sulfate anions and fumaric acid molecules. In addition, π-π interactions via aromatic nitrogen-containing ligands are also discussed. The combination of non-covalent interactions leads to the formation of a 3-D network structure.

Determination and Correlation of Solubility of Nonivamide in Different Solvents

The solubility of nonivamide in dimethyl sulfoxide, methanol, acetone, ethyl acetate, methyl tert-butyl ether, acetonitrile, n-hexane and water over the temperature range of 293.2 K to 323.2 K was measured. The results reveal that the solubility of nonivamide is greatly influenced by the hydrogen-bond basicity of solvent and increases with temperature. The experimental data were correlated with the modified Apelblat equation. The dissolution enthalpy and entropy of nonivamide in different solvents were obtained from the correlation of lnx with 1/T using the van't Hoff equation. The calculated nonivamide solubility is in good agreement with experimental data for most of the solvents.
