Drilling,seismic and logging data were used to evaluate the hydrocarbon accumulation conditions of the mound-shoal complexes in the platform margin of the fourth member of Sinian Dengying Formation in the east side of the Mianzhu-Changning intracratonic rift in the Sichuan *** four understandings are:(1)The platform margin belt of the Deng 4 Member can be divided into three sections,northern,middle and southern;the middle section is at the core of the Gaoshiti-Moxi paleouplift and the structural high now,while the southern and northern sections are at the slope of the paleouplift and the structural lows now;the three sections have similar development characteristics and reservoir features of platform margin mound-shoal complex.(2)In the margin of the east side of the rift,there are several faults nearly perpendicular to the platform margin belt,the faults divide the platform margin belt into rugged paleo-landform,and the high part developed platform margin mound-shoal complexes and the reservoirs are good in physical properties,while the low part developed inter-beach depression and no mound-shoal complexes,where the reservoirs are poor in physical properties.(3)The six groups of faults nearly perpendicular to the platform margin belt divide the platform margin belt into seven large mound-shoal complexes which have similar hydrocarbon accumulation conditions and accumulation evolution process and are rich in petroleum.(4)The inter shoal depressions between the mound-shoal complexes are characterized by tighter lithology,which can block the updip direction of the mounds and shoals at the lower part of the slope of the paleouplift and are favorable for the later preservation of mound-shoal gas *** has been proved by Well Jiaotan 1 and Heshen 2 drilled *** mound-shoal complexes on the platform margin of the structural slope area have a good exploration prospect.

Based on comprehensive analysis of reservoir-forming conditions, the diversity of reservoir and the difference of multistage hydrocarbon charge are the key factors for the carbonate hydrocarbon accumulation of the Ordovician in the Tarim Basin. Undergone four major deposition-tectonic cycles, the Ordovician carbonate formed a stable structural framework with huge uplifts, in which are developed reservoirs of the reef-bank type and unconformity type, and resulted in multistage hydrocarbon charge and accumulation during the Caledonian, Late Hercynian and Late Himalayan. With low matrix porosity and permeability of the Ordovician carbonate, the secondary solution pores and caverns serve as the main reservoir space. The polyphase tectonic movements formed unconformity reservoirs widely distributed around the paleo-uplifts; and the reef-bank reservoir is controlled by two kinds of sedimentary facies belts, namely the steep slope and gentle slope. The unconventional carbonate pool is characterized by extensive distribution, no obvious edge water or bottom water, complicated oil/gas/water relations and severe heterogeneity controlled by reservoirs. The low porosity and low permeability reservoir together with multi-period hydrocarbon accumulation resulted in the difference and complex of the distribution and production of oil/gas/water. The distribution of hydrocarbon is controlled by the temporal-spatial relation between revolution of source rocks and paleo-uplifts. The heterogenetic carbonate reservoir and late-stage gas charge are the main factors making the oil/ gas phase complicated. The slope areas of the paleo-uplifts formed in the Paleozoic are the main carbonate exploration directions based on comprehensive evaluation. The Ordovician of the northern slope of the Tazhong uplift, Lunnan and its periphery areas are practical exploration fields. Pore and fracture characteristics of Cretaceous tight reservoir and its control effect on hydrocarbon accumulation in the Liuhe Basin

Tight oil and gas in the Cretaceous has been found in the Liuhe Basin,but the rules of tight reservoir and oil and gas accumulation are not *** paper discusses the developmental characteristics and evolution law of pores and fractures in the Cretaceous tight reservoir in the Liuhe Basin,and reveals its controlling effect on tight oil and gas *** results show that intercrystalline pores,intergranular pores and dissolution pores are scattered and only developed in shallow tight reservoirs,while microfractures are developed in both shallow and deep layers,which are the main type of reservoir space in the study *** results of mercury intrusion porosimetry and nitrogen gas adsorption show that with the increase of depth,the proportion of macropores(microcracks)increases,while the proportion of micropores *** are two stages of microfractures developed in the study area,corresponding to the initial fault depression stage from late Jurassic to early late Cretaceous and compressional uplift at the end of late *** to the principle of“inversion and back-stripping method”,combined with the data of optical microscopy and inclusions,the time of each key diagenesis and its contribution to porosity are revealed,and the porosity evolution history of reservoirs in different diagenetic stages is quantitatively *** porosity reduction rate of compaction can reach more than 80%,which is the main reason for reservoir *** relationship between pore evolution history and oil and gas accumulation history reveals that during the oil and gas filling period of the Xiahuapidianzi Formation(90-85 Ma),the reservoir porosity is only 1.15%,but the development of microfractures in the first stage of the reservoir is conducive to oil and gas accumulation.

Aiming at the differential distribution of overpressure in vertical and lateral directions in the foreland thrust belt in the southern margin of Junggar Basin,the study on overpressure origin identification and overpressure evolution simulation is carried *** on the measured formation pressure,drilling fluid density and well logging data,overpressure origin identification and overpressure evolution simulation techniques are used to analyze the vertical and lateral distribution patterns of overpressure,genetic mechanisms of overpressure in different structural belts and causes of the differential distribution of overpressure,and the controlling effects of overpressure development and evolution on the formation and distribution of oil and gas *** research shows that overpressure occurs in multiple formations vertically in the southern Junggar foreland thrust belt,the deeper the formation,the bigger the scale of the overpressure ***,overpressure is least developed in the mountain front belt,most developed in the fold anticline belt,and relatively developed in the slope *** differential distribution of overpressure is mainly controlled by the differences in disequilibrium compaction and tectonic compression strengths of different *** vertical overpressure transmission caused by faults connecting the deep overpressured system has an important contribution to the further increase of the overpressure strength in this *** controlling effect of overpressure development and evolution on hydrocarbon accumulation and distribution shows in the following aspects:When the strong overpressure was formed before reservoir becoming tight overpressure maintains the physical properties of deep reservoirs to some extent,expanding the exploration depth of deep reservoirs;reservoirs below the overpressured mudstone cap rocks of the Paleogene Anjihaihe Formation and Lower Cretaceous Tugulu Group are main sites for oil and gas accumulation;under the

Control of hydrocarbon accumulation by Lower Paleozoic cap rocks in the Tazhong Low Rise, Central Uplift, Tarim Basin, West China

Characteristics of Volcanic Reservoirs and hydrocarbon accumulation of Carboniferous System in Junggar Basin, China

The Carboniferous volcanic reservoirs in Junggar Basin contain rich hydrocarbon resources,implying a great exploration potential,so that they have become a key replacement target for“three-dimensional exploration”.The study on the Carboniferous volcanic reservoirs and their hydrocarbon accumulation elements is significant for clarifying the orientation for *** this paper,based on 37 reserves reports and 3200 reservoir test data,the Carboniferous volcanic reservoirs in Junggar Basin were discussed from the prospective of lithology and lithofacies,physical properties,reservoir types,main controls on hydrocarbon accumulation,and hydrocarbon accumulation *** is found that the Carboniferous in the basin is mostly in the multi-island ocean-volcanic island arc structural-sedimentary environment,so it is geologically eligible for forming in-situ volcanic *** volcanic rocks are:(1)mostly distributed along deep and large faults,with the lithology and lithofacies controlled by volcanic architectures;(2)dominantly lava,followed by volcaniclastic lava and volcaniclastic rock;(3)distributed in the periphery of hydrocarbon-generating sag and within the source rocks horizontally,and concentrated in the weathering crust at the top longitudinally,possibly leading to reworked weathering crust reservoir;and(4)liable to form inner *** volcanic reservoirs can be concluded into four hydrocarbon accumulation patterns,i.e.,self-generating&self-storing in paleo-uplift and vertical migration,self-generating&self-storing in paleo-uplift and lateral migration,young-generating&old-storing in fault zone and vertical migration,and young-generating&old-storing in paleo-uplift and lateral *** exploration will focus on the effective source rock development and hydrocarbon supply zones and the selfgenerating&self-storing and young-generating&old-storing *** exploration prospects are determined to be the Ludong-Wucaiwan-Baijiahai slope belt

Petroleum geology features and research developments of hydrocarbon accumulation in deep petroliferous basins

As petroleum exploration advances and as most of the oil-gas reservoirs in shallow layers have been explored, petroleum exploration starts to move toward deep basins, which has become an inevitable choice. In this paper, the petroleum geology features and research progress on oil-gas reservoirs in deep petroliferous basins across the world are characterized by using the latest results of worldwide deep petroleum exploration. Research has demonstrated that the deep petroleum shows ten major geological features. （1） While oil-gas reservoirs have been discovered in many different types of deep petroliferous basins, most have been discovered in low heat flux deep basins. （2） Many types of petroliferous traps are developed in deep basins, and tight oil-gas reservoirs in deep basin traps are arousing increasing attention. （3） Deep petroleum normally has more natural gas than liquid oil, and the natural gas ratio increases with the burial depth. （4） The residual organic matter in deep source rocks reduces but the hydrocarbon expulsion rate and efficiency increase with the burial depth. （5） There are many types of rocks in deep hydrocarbon reservoirs, and most are clastic rocks and carbonates. （6） The age of deep hydrocarbon reservoirs is widely different, but those recently discovered are pre- dominantly Paleogene and Upper Paleozoic. （7） The porosity and permeability of deep hydrocarbon reservoirs differ widely, but they vary in a regular way with lithology and burial depth. （8） The temperatures of deep oil-gas reservoirs are widely different, but they typically vary with the burial depth and basin geothermal gradient. （9） The pressures of deep oil-gas reservoirs differ significantly, but they typically vary with burial depth, genesis, and evolu- tion period. （10） Deep oil-gas reservoirs may exist with or without a cap, and those without a cap are typically of unconventional genesis. Control effect of fluid entry pressure on hydrocarbon accumulation

The micromigration of oil-drive-water and gas-drive-water in oil and gas fields was studied,by using core slices and micro-experimental technology,and the migration processes and characteristics of oil and gas in pores and throats were observed,as well as entry pressures of oil/gas *** shows that entry pressures of both oil-drive-water and gas-drive-water increase obviously as porosity decreases,and the statistical regularity observes the power function ***,there is a complex changing relationship between porosity and different entry pressure values of the two replacement processes,forming three curve sections,each representing a different accumulation *** the porosity is over 10%-12%,the difference between oil-drive-water and gas-drive-water entry pressures is *** oil and gas can migrate and accumulate in this kind of *** probabilities of oil and gas reservoir formation are nearly equal,forming conventional oil/gas *** porosity is between 5% and 10%-12%,the difference between the two is obvious,which indicates that this kind of reservoir can seal oil,but can also be a reservoir for gas,easily forming unconventional hydrocarbon pools(deep-basin gas pools).When porosity is less than 5%,the difference is indistinct and the entry capillary pressures show the same sealing function for oil and *** this condition,both oil and gas pools are difficult to *** results give a rational explanation for the difference of accumulation probability between deep-basin gas and deep-basin oil,and also for the mechanism of tight sand acting as cap rock.

Based on the drilling,cores,logs,seismic,laboratory analysis and so on,reservoir characteristics and hydrocarbon accumulation of Carboniferous volcanic weathered crust in Zhongguai high area are *** rocks were formed in an island arc *** lithology is mainly andesite and tuff;Reservoir spaces are mainly secondary pore,fracture and their combination forms,fractures have a better effect on reservoir seepage;There are four layer structures of volcanic weathered crust,weathered clay layer,strongly weathered zone,weakly weathered zone and unweathered zone and strongly weathered zone is the best,which is the main reservoir development zone;The development of reservoir is mainly affected by weathering-leaching,lithology and lithofacies,and fault(fracture);Effective reservoirs could reach to 480 m thickness(high quality reservoirs are within 240 m).Carboniferous volcanic reservoirs are distributed along three zones,which are near the fault zone,high structural part,favorable lithofacies development zone,and one plane,which is near the unconformity.

Vertical differential structural deformation(VDSD),one of the most significant structural characteristics of strike-slip fault zones(SSFZs)in the Shunbei area,is crucial for understanding deformation in the SSFZ and its hydrocarbon accumulation *** on drilling data and high-precision 3-D seismic data,we analyzed the geometric and kinematic characteristics of the SSFZs in the Shunbei *** with the stratification of the rock mechanism,the structural deformations of these SSFZs in different formations were differentiated and divided into four deformation *** to comprehensive structural interpretations and comparisons,three integrated 3-D structural models could describe the VDSD of these *** time-space coupling of the material basis(rock mechanism stratification),changing dynamic conditions(e.g.,changing stress-strain states),and special deformation mechanism of the en echelon normal fault array uniformly controlled the formation of the VDSD in the SSFZs of the Shunbei *** VDSD of the SSFZs in this area controlled the entire hydrocarbon accumulation ***-stage structural superimposing deformation influenced the hydrocarbon migration,accumulation,distribution,preservation,and secondary adjustments.
