In this paper, we propose a thermal model of a hybrid photovoltaic/thermal concentration system. Starting from the thermal balance of the model, the equation is solved and simulated with a MATLAB code, considering air as the cooling fluid. This enabled us to evaluate some of the parameters influencing the electrical and thermal performance of this device. The results showed that the temperature, thermal efficiency and electrical efficiency delivered depend on the air mass flow rate. The electrical and thermal efficiencies for different values of air mass flow are encouraging, and demonstrate the benefits of cooling photovoltaic cells. The results show that thermal efficiency decreases air flow rate greater than 0.7 kg/s, whatever the value of the light concentration used. The thermal efficiency of the solar cell increases as the light concentration increases, whatever the air flow rate used. For a concentration equal to 30 sun, the thermal efficiency is 0.16 with an air flow rate equal to 0.005 kg/s;the thermal efficiency increases to 0.19 with an air flow rate equal to 0.1 kg/s at the same concentration. An interesting and useful finding was that the proposed numerical model allows the determination of the electrical as well as thermal efficiency of the hybrid CPV/T with air flow as cooling fluid.

Combining wave energy converters(WECs)with floating offshore wind turbines proves a potential strategy to achieve better use of marine renewable *** full coupling investigation on the dynamic and power generation features of the hybrid systems under operational sea states is necessary but limited by numerical simulation *** an aero-hydro-servo-elastic coupling numerical tool is developed and applied to investigate the motion,mooring tension,and energy conversion performance of a hybrid system consisting of a spar-type floating wind turbine and an annular wave energy *** show that the addition of the WEC has no significant negative effect on the dynamic performance of the platform and even enhances the rotational stability of the *** surge and pitch motion,the peak of the spectra is originated from the dominating wave component,whereas for the heave motion,the peak of the spectrum is the superposed effect of the dominating wave component and the resonance of the *** addition of the annular WEC can slightly improve the wind power by making the rotor to be in a better position to face the incoming wind and provide considerable wave energy production,which can compensate for the downtime of the offshore wind.

The hybrid system with radiant cooling and dedicated outdoor air not only possesses high energy efficiency, but also creates a healthy and comfortable indoor environment. Indoor air quality will be improved by the dedicated outdoor air system(DOAS) and indoor thermal comfort can be enhanced by the radiant cooling system(RCS). The optimal air-supply mode of the hybrid system and the corresponding design approach were investigated. A full-scale experimental chamber with various air outlets and the ceiling radiant cooling panels(CRCP) was designed and established. The performances of different air-supply modes along with CRCPs were analyzed by multi-index evaluations. Preliminary investigations were also conducted on the humidity stratification and the control effect of different airflow modes to prevent condensation on CRCP. The overhead supply air is recommended as the best combination mode for the hybrid system after comprehensive comparison of the experiment results. The optimal proportion of CRCP accounting for the total cooling capacities in accord with specific cooling loads is found, which may provide valuable reference for the design and operation of the hybrid system.

The paper deals with a boundary feedback stabilization problem of a hybrid system with disturbances, which is clamped at one end and linked to a rigid body at the other end. The active disturbance rejection control approach is adopted in investigation. State observers are first designed to estimate disturbances, and then boundary feedback controllers are proposed to cancel the ***, under different assumptions of time varying high gain functions, the asymptotical stability and the exponential stability of the closed-loop system are proved by the Lyapunov function ***, numerical simulations are presented to validate the theoretical conclusions.

Due to the intermittency and indeterminacy of solar irradiance,balancing energy supply and load demand remains a *** paper proposed a switchable hybrid system that combines concentrating photovoltaic/concentrating solar power(CPV/CSP)technology with thermal energy storage(TES)to achieve flexible electricity and thermal generation by adjusting the incident solar flux of photovoltaic(PV).The hybrid system can directly transfer surplus solar energy into high-quality heat for storage using a rotatable PV/heat *** simulated results demonstrated that the hybrid system effectively improves power generation,optimally utilizes TES capacity,and reduces the levelized cost of electricity(LCOE).Over a selected seven-day period,the single-junction(1J)Ga As solar cells used in the hybrid system sustainably satisfied the load demand for more than five days without grid supplement,outperforming the CSP plant by an additional two *** hybrid system utilizing the 1J Ga As with the base configuration of solar multiple(SM)of 1.26 and TES capacity of 5 h improved the annual power production and renewable penetration(RP)by 20.8%and 24.8%compared with the conventional CSP plant,*** hybrid plant with monosilicon and a configuration of SM(1.8),PV ratio(1),and TES capacity(6 h)achieved an optimal LCOE of11.52$ct/k Wh and RP of 75.5%,which is 8.8%lower and 12.1%higher than the CSP plant,respectively.

A hybrid system of a spar-type floating offshore wind turbine and a heaving annular wave energy converter(WEC)provides a promising solution for collocated ocean renewable energy *** performance of the hybrid system depends on the dimensions of the *** an optimization method is proposed to determine the outer radius and the draft of the WEC under the wave condition in a randomly chosen operational ***,three candidate models are selected based on three operational conditions of energy harvest:(1)The natural frequency of the system is matched with the peak wave frequency in the target site(referred to as synchronized mode),where the wind turbine and the WEC nearly heave together in a near-resonance condition,(2)The natural frequency of the WEC is matched with the peak wave frequency(ring mode),(3)The maximum wave power is harnessed under the peak wave frequency(target mode).Then the candidate modes are evaluated to obtain an *** show that the extracted wave power under the above operational conditions has an upper bound that can hardly be surpassed by enlarging the dimensions of the WEC *** optimal annual wave energy production is achieved in the synchronized mode because of the superior performance of WEC over a wide bandwidth of effective energy conversion.

Under Type-Ⅱ progressively hybrid censoring, this paper discusses statistical inference and optimal design on stepstress partially accelerated life test for hybrid system in presence of masked data. It is assumed that the lifetime of the component in hybrid systems follows independent and identical modified Weibull distributions. The maximum likelihood estimations(MLEs)of the unknown parameters, acceleration factor and reliability indexes are derived by using the Newton-Raphson algorithm. The asymptotic variance-covariance matrix and the approximate confidence intervals are obtained based on normal approximation to the asymptotic distribution of MLEs of model parameters. Moreover,two bootstrap confidence intervals are constructed by using the parametric bootstrap method. The optimal time of changing stress levels is determined under D-optimality and A-optimality ***, the Monte Carlo simulation study is carried out to illustrate the proposed procedures.

The control objective and several key parameters of PEMFC hybrid system are analyzed. Control strategy design and energy optimization simulation are made individually for given cycle case and realtime operating case. For the given cycle case, genetic algorithm is adopted to solve the multi-constraint combinatorial optimization problem. Simulation result showed the algorithm＇s feasibility. As far as the realtime operation is concerned, based on the original fuzzy control strategy, the fuel cell voltage and voltage variance parameters are introduced to apply result reveals that the improved fuzzy control strategy can enhance the two-level modification on the fuzzy control output. The fuel cell efficiency and reduce the power fluctuations.

Defected graphene has a more important practical significance than graphene. Silver nanoparticles can modify the optical properties of defected graphene. We present herein a detailed theoretical analysis about the coherent resonance of quantum plasmons in the Stone-Wales （SW） defected graphene-silver nanowire hybrid system by using time-dependent density functional theory. The plasmon coherent effect is mainly attributed to the electromagnetic field coupling between the Stone-Wales defected graphene and silver nanowires. As a result, the optical response of the hybrid system exhibits a remarkable enhancement. Plasmon resonance, which depends on polarization and selectable tuning, is enhanced in wide frequency regions. Moreover, it reveals that the resonance frequency of an optical absorption spectrum depends on the space configuration of the SW defected graphene in the hybrid system. This investigation provides a better understanding of the plasmon enhancement effect used in a graphene-based photoelectric device. The study also offers an effective means of detecting the defects existing in graphene.
