Correlation of serum sTREM-1 content with inflammatory factors and immune function in neonatal infectious pneumonia

Objective: To investigate the correlation of serum soluble triggering receptors expressed on myeloid cells 1 (sTREM-1) content with inflammatory factors and immune function in neonatal infectious pneumonia. Methods: A total of 62 neonates with infectious pneumonia who were treated in Xiaogan Hospital Affiliated to Wuhan University of Science and Technology between July 2016 and September 2017 were selected as pneumonia group, and 50 healthy neonates who were born in this hospital during the same period were selected as normal control group. The differences in serum levels of sTREM-1, inflammatory factors and immunoglobulins were compared between the two groups. Results: Serum sTREM-1 content of pneumonia group was higher than that of normal control group;serum cytokines IL-10, IL-17, PCT and CRP contents were higher than those of normal control group;serum immunoglobulins IgA, IgG and IgM contents were higher than those of normal control group;serum IL-10, IL-17, PCT, CRP, IgA, IgG and IgG contents of pneumonia group of neonates with high serum sTREM-1 content were higher than those of neonates with low serum sTREM-1 content. Conclusion: Serum sTREM-1 content is higher in neonates with infectious pneumonia, which is directly correlated with the inflammatory response and humoral immune function.

Melanization in insect hemolymph is triggered by the recognition of pathogen-associated molecular patterns via pattern recognition receptors. The signal transduction leads to the activation of the prophenoloxidase and hence the generation of melanin. The proPO activation process must be tightly controlled to minimize the host damage caused by reactive intermediates during melanin synthesis. The full-length cDNA sequence of a 20 kDa hemolymph protein from Bombyx (Bmhp20) was determined. Bmhp20 gene was expressed in larval fat body, integument, trachea, and ovary and was induced by the challenge of B. bombyseptieus. Binding of recombinant Bmhp20 to microbial cell wall components as well as gram-positive bacteria and fungi was confirmed. Phenoloxidase activity assay indicated that recombinant Bmhp20 blocked the proPO activation in hemolymph that was triggered by peptidoglycan or beta-1, 3-glucan. Our data suggest that Bmhp20 plays bifunctional roles in silkworm humoral responses: to participate in pattern recognition and to block the activation of proPO.

Objective:To explore the possibility of diagnosing and monitoring patients with systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE)using the combination of mean platelet volume(MPV)and routine immunoglobulin ***:116 patients with SLE were divided into 3 groups according to their clinical characteristics,including 29 patients with renal impairment,44 cases of active stage and 43 cases of inactive patients.40 healthy subjects were randomly selected as *** were tested for routine blood test and plasma Immunoglobins,such as IgG,IgA,IgM,C3,C4,CH50,*** results were analyzed and the characteristics of each group of subjects were determined,the correlation between test results and diagnosis were ***:In comparison to the control group,the serum level of MPV,C3 and C4 were decreased(P<0.05),and C reactive protein level was elevated(P<0.001)in the three groups of SLE *** IgG level in active and inactive SLE patients was increased(P<0.0001),CH50 level was decreased in patients with inactive SLE(P<0.05),IgA level of active SLE subjects was found to be elevated(P<0.05),IgM in patients with renal impairment was decreased(P<0.05).Other than that,no other significant characteristic were ***:The pathogenesis of SLE is a complex process involving multiple *** changes of MPV,IgG,IgA,IgM,C3,C4,CH50 and CRP in SLE patients are characteristic *** combination of the above indicators can help to determine the diagnosis and staging of *** timely diagnosis and treatment of SLE patients has important clinical significance in protecting the organ function of SLE patients and improving the prognosis.

Objective: To explore the clinical efficacy of glutamine enteral nutrition in the treatment of gastrointestinal tumor in elderly patients and the effect in improving the nutrition and immunity. Methods: A total of 92 elderly patients with gastrointestinal tumor who were admitted in our hospital from June, 2014 to March, 2016 were included in the study and randomized into the control group (n=46) and the treatment group (n=46). The patients in the two groups were given adjuvant chemotherapy 2 weeks after operation and routine enternal nutrition 1 d after operation. On the basis of routine enternal nutrition, the patients in the treatment group were given glutamine granules for intensive treatment. The patients in the two groups were continuously given 10 d nutrition support. The gastrointestinal function recovery and intestinal mucosal barrier recovery before and after operation in the observation group were compared. The levels of related nutrition and immune indicators before and after operation in the two groups were detected and compared. Results: The first exhaust and first defecation time after operation in the treatment group was significantly shortened when compared with the control group. When compared with before operation, L/M and plasma DAO level 1 d and 10 d after operation in the control group were significantly elevated. L/M and plasma DAO level 1 d after operation in the treatment group were significantly elevated, while those 10 d after operation were significantly reduced when compared with before operation. L/M and plasma DAO level 1 d and 10 d after operation in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group. The serum TP, Alb, PA, and TRF levels 1 d and 10 d after operation in the two groups were significantly elevated when compared with before operation, and those in the treatment group were significantly higher than those in the control group.
