In eukaryotic cells, gene activity is not directly reflected by protein levels because mRNA processing, transport, stability, and translation are co- and post-transcriptionally regulated. These processes, collectively known as the ribonome, are tightly controlled and carried out by a plethora of trans-acting RNA-binding proteins （RBPs） that bind to specific cis elements throughout the RNA sequence. Within the nervous system, the role of RBPs in brain function turns out to be essential due to the architectural complexity of neurons exemplified by a relatively small somal size and an extensive network of projections and connections, Thus far, RBPs have been shown to be indispensable for several aspects of neurogenesis, neurite outgrowth, synapse formation, and plasticity. Consequently, perturbation of their function is central in the etiology of an ever-growing spectrum of neurological diseases, including fragile X syndrome and the neurodegenerative disorders frontotemporal lobar degeneration and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

The diameter of the impeller balance hole in a centrifugal pump is closely related to axial force.Thus,to select the appropriate diameter of a balance hole is crucial for balancing the axial force of the centrifugal pump.After the validation of the CFD method and the grids independence study,the characteristics of flow in the hub cavity have been analyzed in 4 cases with different diameters of balance holes.The leakage rate of the liquid in the hub cavity of the centrifugal pump is calculated and compared with the test result.According to the research,when no balance hole exists,the distribution of liquid velocity in the core area of the hub cavity exhibits axial symmetry,and the circumferential velocity component is approximately 0.4 times of the impeller's rotational speed.When the balance hole exists,the distribution of liquid velocity in the hub cavity does not exhibit axial symmetry,and the circumferential velocity component is larger than 0.4 times of the impeller's rotational speed.The radial leakage velocity on the turbulent boundary layer of the pump cover will increase with the increasing diameter of the balance hole.

Community structure is an integral characteristic of real world networks whichever processes or areas they emerge from. This paper addresses the problem of community structure detection theoretically as well as computationally. The authors introduce a number of concepts such as the neighbourhood and strength of a subgraph, p-community, local maximal p-community, hubs, and outliers that play elemental role in formalising the concept of community structure in complex networks. A few preliminary results have been derived that lead to the development of an algorithm for community structure detection in undirected unweighted networks. The algorithm is based on a local seed expansion strategy that uses the concept of interaction coefficient. The authors have analysed the algorithm on a number of parameters such as accuracy, stability, and quality on synthetic and real world networks from different areas.

With the increasing interdependence of various energy carriers,the operation of power systems is found to correlate closely with the limitations on the other energy infrastructures.This paper presents a mixed-integer linear programming(MILP)model for the microgrid(MG)optimal scheduling considering technical and economic ties between electricity and natural gas(NG)systems.In the proposed methodology,different energy converters and storages,including combined heat and power(CHP)units,electricity/heat storage units,and distributed energy resources(DERs)are considered.The proposed model allows the MG operator to minimize the operation cost of the MG while different operational limitations on the energy hub are satisfied.The model is developed based on AC power flow constraints so as to respect reactive power and voltage security constraints.The efficiency and robustness of the proposed MILP formulation are successfully verified using a large-scale test MG.

Spatial Pattern and Heterogeneity of Port & Shipping Service Enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta,2002–2016

Using the ‘theoretical hypothesis—empirical study—case verification' method, this paper studies the spatial distribution and differentiation of port & shipping service enterprises(PSSE), as well as the variation process and underlying mechanism in the Yangtze River Delta(YRD). First, through inductive and deductive reasoning, we propose the following hypothesis: the regional distribution of different types of PSSE would show different spatial agglomeration-decentralization tendency; and there would be distinct regional differentiation in the industrial structure of the enterprises. Second, based on data obtained from enterprises, empirical research is conducted using Gini coefficient and spatial interpolation simulation methods. Results show that: 1) The overall enterprise distribution is decentralized within a city. 2) Different types of enterprises show different spatial agglomeration-decentralization tendencies. At 3000 m×3000 m grid scale, there is an agglomeration tendency along seas and rivers in the spatial distribution of enterprises. Shanghai has been identified consistently as a hot spot. 3) There is significant regional differentiation in 12 port cities with respect to the industrial structures of enterprises. Finally, the transportization and the increase of shipping service demand, the globalization and the expansion of multinational corporate activities, the hierarchization and the cooperation among port cities as well as the decentralization and the behavioral difference between the central and local states can be seen as main driving mechanism of the spatial phenomenon.

At present,the greenhouse effect is caused by excessive emission of carbon dioxide.As a result the Arctic ice has melted and sea levels have risen.If it continues to deteriorate,it will cause human catastrophe.In order to avoid direct crisis and development,green energy is the only necessary way.Here,wind power plays an important role.Onshore wind power has been developed in Taiwan for more than 15 years.There are 341 onshore wind turbines that have been built so far.The total installed capacity is 678 MW high.Among them,Tai power occupies a total of 169 stations with a total installed capacity of 294 MW.Offshore wind turbines are also under construction.By 2025,the capacity will be 5 to 6 GW.It can be seen that the supply of wind power in the overall power market will become an important area in the future.Therefore,how to improve the availability and capacity factors of wind turbine power generation will become a top priority for owners.Since most of the world’s best wind farms are in the Taiwan Strait,this is a unique feature of Taiwan,although Taiwan lacks traditional fuels,petroleum,coal,natural gas and other resources.If these abundant solar and wind energy resources can be effectively utilized,in addition to reducing carbon emissions and contributing to the world,the development of green energy can also drive the development of the domestic green energy industry,also through the development of green energy to establish domestic operation and maintenance technology for wind turbines.
