Acoustical properties of a 3D printed honeycomb structure filled with nanofillers:Experimental analysis and optimization for emerging applications

The novelty of this research lies in the successful fabrication of a 3D-printed honeycomb structure filled with nanofillers for acoustic properties,utilizing an impedance tube setup in accordance with ASTM standard E *** Creality Ender-3,a 3D printer,was used for printing the honeycomb structures,and polylactic acid(PLA)material was employed for their *** organic,inorganic,and polymeric compounds within the composites were identified using fourier transformation infrared(FTIR)*** structure and homogeneity of the samples were examined using a field emission scanning electron microscope(FESEM).To determine the sound absorption coefficient of the 3D printed honeycomb structure,numerous samples were systematically developed using central composite design(CCD)and analysed using response surface methodology(RSM).The RSM mathematical model was established to predict the optimum values of each factor and noise reduction coefficient(NRC).The optimum values for an NRC of 0.377 were found to be 1.116 wt% carbon black,1.025 wt% aluminium powder,and 3.151 mm distance between parallel ***,the results demonstrate that a 3Dprinted honeycomb structure filled with nanofillers is an excellent material that can be utilized in various fields,including defence and aviation,where lightweight and acoustic properties are of great importance.

Thermal infrared camouflage technology has attracted increasing attention with the progress of infrared surveillance *** by honeycombs,a thermal infrared camouflage film with honeycomb sandwich structure based on fluid and temperature control is proposed to cloak objects and display false targets in the thermal infrared *** structure and manufacturing method of the film are introduced,and the fluid and temperature control system is established and tested to explore the thermal infrared characteristics of the film composed of different thermal *** camouflage performance of the film is intuitively displayed through the temperature frequency histograms of the infrared images photographed by an infrared *** temperature control accuracy of the thermal infrared camouflage system and the dynamic camouflage response of the film are evaluated by the temperature distribution map of each pixel in infrared images and the salient degree ***,the influential factors on the camouflage responding time are investigated,including the heating and cooling time of the liquid,the flow rate of pumps inside the driving module,and the energy loss along the liquid *** application of displaying false target is also introduced and *** results show that the camouflage film has a well camouflage effect and a wide adjustment temperature range,showing promise for a broad range of potential applications,such as counter-surveillance,thermal control and heat shielding.

Ultrasonic C-scan inspection of brazed joint in thin panel honeycomb structure

The non-destructive testing of brazed joint in honeycomb structure with thin panel （ thickness ： 0. 2 mm） was studied by ultrasonic C-scan method. Samples with different types of artificial defect were designed; the characteristic signal and the main parameters of the test were determined by the pre-experiment, and then parameters were optimized by orthogonal design, finally the optimum process was verified by a single panel sample. The multiple reflection echoes were chosen as the characteristic signal. The optimal C-scan results were achieved when the 20 MHz focus probe was used, and the pass band range for received signal were selected as 8 - 17. 5 MHz. The defects such as incomplete penetration and core damage can be detected with ultrasonic C-scan, and the detection accuracy can reach to 1 ram.

This paper describes the optimum solution to improve the total quality of lightweight mirror in huge telescopes. Referring to the lightweight mirror with honeycomb, a group of reasonable sizes of main structure is given by optimization methods and modal analysis that can improve resonant frequency of the lightweight mirror by 8.1%. As a result, the mirror is less likely to resonate. Besides, static module and dynamic response module in Ansys are utilized respectively to analyze the mirror deformation caused by gravity, modal analysis and vibration response. By the calculation of Ansys, FEA method proves that the performance of lightweight mirror is greatly enhanced by means of optimization design.

Structural dimension optimization and mechanical response analysis of fabricated honeycomb plastic pavement slab

Carbon dioxide reforming of methane on monolithic Ni/Al_2O_3-based catalysts

Nickel-alumina catalysts supported on cordierite monoliths of honeycomb structure surpass essentially the conventional granulated ones with respect to the output in carbon dioxide reforming of methane. Adjusting the surface acid-base properties of catalysts by introduction of alkali metal （Na, K） oxides inhibits the carbonization and as a result, improves the operational stability of these catalysts. An effect of promotion of nickel-alumina based composite doped by lanthanum oxide is found. This effect, caused by an additional route for the CO2 activation on Ni-La2O3/Al2O3/cordierite catalyst, is displayed in increase of methane conversion under conditions of an oxidant excess.

Enhanced Photocurrent Generation of Graphene/Au@ZnO honeycomb Film

A bio-inspired graphene/Au@ZnO photoelectrode has been prepared via breath figure method, in which Au@ZnO nanospheres were uniformly distributed in the whole honeycomb film. The size of the honeycomb holes effects the light using efficiency. The honeycomb film with smaller holes in more ordered array shows better antire- flective property. All the formed graphene/Au@ZnO honeycomb photoelectrodes show a fast, stable, and reversible response of photocurrent accompanied by each switch-on and switch-off event. Au@ZnO-modified graphene hon- eycomb film can combine the advantages of increased light harvesting provided by honeycomb structure, efficient charge separation from Au nanoparticles （NPs）, and efficient electron transfer provided by graphene. Au@ZnO- modified graphene honeycomb film shows a two-fold increase of photocurrent generation than ZnO-modified gra- phene honeycomb film and a three-fold increase of photocurrent generation than Au@ZnO-modified graphene smooth film, respectively. The rational design and engineering of multi components with different functions in a hybrid bio-inspired structure hold great promise for further efficient solar energy conversion devices.
