Eukaryotic organisms constantly face a wide range of internal and external factors that cause damage to their *** to accurately and efficiently repair these DNA lesions can result in genomic instability and the development of tumors(Canela et al.,2017).Among the various forms of DNA damage,DNA doublestrand breaks(DSBs)are particularly *** major pathways,non-homologous end joining(NHEJ)and homologous recombination(HR),are primarily responsible for repairing DSBs(Katsuki et al.,2020;Li and Yuan,2021;Zhang and Gong,2021;Xiang et al.,2023).NHEJ is an error-prone repair mechanism that simply joins the broken ends together(Blunt et al.,1995;Hartley et al.,1995).

To the Editor:The latest variant of concern,Omicron,has become the dominant global variant immediately after it was first reported in November 2021.[1]It contains>30 mutations in the spike protein,with 17 mutations in the receptor-binding domain,rendering it with increased transmissibility and capacity for immune evasion.[1,2]Moreover,the waning of protection has been observed over time since the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)vaccination.[3]Therefore,a booster is highly recommended.A large-scale study in the UK assessing the effectiveness of the booster vaccination with either the BNT162b2 or mRNA-1273 indicated that the booster shot substantially increased protection against symptomatic infection in patients with the confirmed Omicron variant infection.[3]However,although the laboratory study has illustrated that the homologous booster with the inactivated COVID-19 vaccine could also yield potent neutralizing activity against the Omicron variant,[4]clinical evidence regarding the effectiveness of this vaccination program is limited.

In this paper, the homology of four radio bursts occuring on August 28, 1989 are discussed in time domain, in frequency domain and in their exciting *** the discussions, it may be possible that if two radio bursts are homologus, then their ratios of the duration time for rising phases, decaying phases and total bursts are similar in time domain, so do their exciting functions. Therefore they resemble each other in their Fourier apectra.

Tissue Engineered Osteogenesis in Bone Defects by homologous Osteoblasts Loaded on Sterile Bioresorbable Coral Scaffold in Rabbits

Objectives: This study explores feasibility of tissue-engineered osteogenesis using sterile coral implants loaded with homologous osteoblasts to repair bone defects. Study Design: A unilateral 4 mm transverse dis- continuity defect was produced approximately mid-way along left radius of young female rabbits using ro- tary diamond disc under continuous saline irrigation and stabilised with autoclaved steel miniplate and screws. The defect was then fitted with sterile bioresorbable coral implant loaded with homologous neonatal calvarial osteoblasts or control implants without osteoblasts. All animals underwent radiography immedi- ately post-operative, at weekly intervals for four weeks and at fortnightly intervals thereafter. Operated bones were histologically evaluated for osteogenesis at 12 weeks. Results: Findings demonstrate osteogenesis and complete repair of bioresorbable coral implant by homologous osteoblasts loaded on coral scaffold. Conclu- sions: Single stage surgery using this technique to induce osteogenesis and closure of discontinuity bone de- fects including palatal clefts and peripheral reduction of large craniofacial defects might prove better thera- peutic modality than autologous bone grafting or tissue distraction osteogenesis.

Phylogeny and homologous Recombination Occurring in Classical Swine Fever Viruses

Classical swine fever virus(CSFV) is the causative agent of classical swine fever, a highly contagious disease of pigs. But there is little information on the recombination in natural populations of CSFVs. Therefore, a phylogenetic analysis of 62 fulllength genome CSFV strains, isolated from all over the world, was performed to detect potential recombination events, with the recombinant sequences being analyzed with the SimPlot and RDP programs. The results identified a mosaic virus, Chinese CSFV HCLV(2)(AF091507.1), which is the one naturally emerged recombinant CSFV with two recombination breakpoints at 2 484 and 2 900 bp of the genome alignment. Its two putative parental-like strains were CSFV Shimen(AF092448.2) and CSFV strain C/HVRI(AY805221.1). This work demonstrated that homologous recombination did occur in natural CSFV populations. It had significant implications for understanding the molecular epidemiology of CSFV, and revealed that recombination was an important factor for high genetic diversities of CSFV.
