Implementation and Analysis of an IoT-Based home automation Framework

The pervasive advancement in the field of an autonomous system is significantly influenced by the concept of integrating a large number of devices. The use Internet of Things (IoT) has increased day by day for making connected devices over the internet. Besides, mobile sensing devices operated by IoT including smartphones, tablets, digital cameras, sensors, etc. are providing access to a large variety of data and services based on human interaction. In this paper, the implementation and analysis of an IoT-based home automation framework using NodeMCU through the MQTT protocol are described. This helps the users to monitor and control home appliances from remote places by using a mobile application over the internet.

The link of wireless sensor networks used in home automation may be instable due to the effects of shadow fading.Designing a suitable routing algorithm to improve the packet delivery ratio and reduce the delay in shadow fading environment is strongly required,and therefore the Link-State-Aware Routing for Wireless Sensor Network in home automation（LSAR-WSNHA） algorithm is proposed.However,when using the algorithm in the real home automation network,the deployment of the WSN will have great influence on the network performance.Accordingly,this paper presents the performance analysis of the LSAR-WSNHA routing algorithm in three network models constructed by complex network theory,and the analysis of the simulation results will actually help the engineers to deploy the proposed routing algorithm for the real-world home automation network.

Online Fuzzy Logic Base Algorithm for Electricity Price Prediction

This paper presents a web-based system to predict the electricity prices.The proposed system captures the geographical location,weather forecast,and oil price for one week ahead.The captured parameters are fed to a fuzzy-logic-based algorithm to calculate electric energy prices.Based on predicted electricity prices,consumers can turn ON/OFF or reschedule operations of their home appliances to reduce their electricity bill.The proposed algorithm was developed and hosted in a utility server(U-server).On the consumer side,a home gateway(H-gateway),and a monitoring and control system was designed,built,and tested by using a single chip microcontroller.

This paper aims to study energy consumption in a house. home energy managementsystem (HEMS) has become very important, because energy consumption of aresidential sector accounts for a significant amount of total energy consumption.However, a conventional HEMS has some architectural limitations among dimensionalvariables reusability and interoperability. Furthermore, the cost of implementation inHEMS is very expensive, which leads to the disturbance of the spread of a HEMS.Therefore, this study proposes an Internet of Things (IoT) based HEMS with lightweightphotovoltaic (PV) system over dynamic home area networks (DHANs), which enablesthe construction of a HEMS to be scalable reusable and interoperable. The study suggestsa technique for decreasing cost of energy that HEMS is using and various perspectives insystem. The method that proposed is K-NN (K-Nearest Neighbor) which helps us toanalyze the classification and regression datasets. This paper has the result from the datarelevant in October 2018 from some buildings of Nanjing University of InformationScience and Technology.

Because of the impact of global warming,the Earth’s ecosystems are currently at a critical stage.The European building sector,and the residential element in particular,is responsible for the largest portion of energy enduse.Although we know how to build a perfectly engineered house,it will not work properly if its inhabitants do not know how to run it.“Well-educated”dwellers can really improve energy use.The aim of this research is to optimize the users’role in the energy reduction process,analysing as a case study,Dwell!,the monitoring system designed for“Rhome for denCity”,the housing prototype developed by Roma Tre University and winner of the“Solar Decathlon Europe”competition in 2014.
