Experimental study on the operating performance of the air source heat pump(ASHP)with variable outdoor airflow rate under the standard frosting condition

Frosting is a common phenomenon of the ASHP under the heating mode in winter,and the outdoor air flow rate flowing through the evaporator of the ASHP was always thought to be a major *** order to validate its contribution,effects of outdoor fan airflow rate on the performance of air source heat pumps(ASHPs)were investigated under the winter heating *** experiment was conducted in a laboratory at the standard 2℃ air dry bulb temperature(DB)/1℃ air wet bulb temperature(WB)frosting condition,which enabled the analysis of the operating performance,frosting performance,and heating performance of the ASHP unit by changing the airflow rate of the outdoor *** showed that as the airflow rate of the outdoor fan reduced from 100%to 36%,the operating performance decline and the elevated frosting-defrosting loss were ***,both the frosting rate and the operating efficiency during frosting-defrosting cycles showed an increasing trend then followed by decreasing *** maximum frosting rate and operating efficiency were 0.92 g/m^(2).min and 2.92,respectively,which were observed at 74%airflow rate of the outdoor fan of the ASHP *** observation implied the existence of the“minimum frosting suppression airflow rate”.At 36%airflow rate of the outdoor fan of the ASHP unit,however,the performance of the ASHP unit was attenuated greatly,with the frosting-defrosting efficiency loss coefficient of 0.47,the heating capacity and COP reduction by 51.5 and 38.8%,*** findings provided significant references to the optimization of ASHPs performance with variable airflow rate of the outdoor fan under frosting conditions.

Solar-assisted heat pump heating system（SAHPHS）, which combines solar heating and heat pump technology into a combined system and can improve both the solar utilization efficiency and COP of heat pump, is a promising energy utilization technology. In order to discuss the influences of area of solar collector and heat capacity of storage water tank on the operation performance of SAHPHS, a system simulation model was developed based on the unit model. The numerical simulation on the performance of the SAHPHS was performed by the model, and an optimization function was also presented to optimize it. The results obtained and the optimization algorithm presented in this study can provide a preference for the optimization design of SAHPHS.

Due to the poor heating performance and operating safety in low ambient temperature,traditional Air Source Heat Pump(ASHP)for Electric Vehicles(EVs)has many limits in cold region,which can be solved by the ASHP with refrigerant *** the start-up stage of EV in winter,the inlet air temperature of the in-car condenser is the same as the ambient *** this situation,the performance and control strategy of the heat pump require special *** the present study,a series of experiments were carried out on the heating performance of the Refrigerant Injection Heat Pump(RIHP)system in start-up stage of EV,at the ambient temperature from–20℃ to–5℃.The effects of compressor speed and injected refrigerant state on the heating performance of the system were discussed in *** to the results,the control strategies during start-up stage have been discussed in the end of the *** study provides a practical control strategy for the RIHP system during the start-up stage of electric vehicles,helping to efficiently operate electric vehicles in cold regions.
