We measure and predict states of Activation and happiness using a body sensing applicationconnected to smartwatches. Through the sensors of commercially available smartwatches we collectindividual mood states and correlate them with body sensing data such as acceleration, heart rate, lightlevel data, and location, through the GPS sensor built into the smartphone connected to the smartwatchWe polled users on the smartwatch for seven weeks four times per day asking for their mood state. Wefound that both happiness and Activation are negatively correlated with heart beats and with the levelsof light. People tend to be happier when they are moving more intensely and are feeling less activatedduring weekends. We also found that people with a lower Conscientiousness and Neuroticism andhigher Agreeableness tend to be happy more frequently. In addition, more Activation can be predictedby lower Openness to experience and higher Agreeableness and Conscientiousness. Lastly, we find thattracking people＇s geographical coordinates might play an important role in predicting happiness andActivation. The methodology we propose is a first step towards building an automated mood trackingsystem, to be used for better teamwork and in combination with social network analysis studies.

Terrible scenario for the future aspect of our society was issued by ＂The Limits to Growth＂. Basic problems that we confront are the restricted natural resources and the environment. Regarding the resources, the overall average of the reserve/production ratio is predicted to fall below 10 years by 2040. Aggressive developments of mines based on the sense of urgency for metal resources cause strong conftiction with the environment and the people living there. Resultantly, urban mine becomes more realistic than before. From the view point of ecological foot print, 5.3 globes are needed if all the people living in the world attain the affluent life same as USA. On the other hand, it is clear that we can get larger utility by smaller goods if our scale of satisfaction is reduced. We have to notice that happiness is our ultimate purpose, economy and industry are intermediate, and natural resources support the all from the basis.

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the relationship between types of leisure activities and happi-ness,life satisfaction,and health perception of older Korean adults during the COVID-19 *** snowballing and purposive sampling methods,123 respondents participated in the *** results show that participation in outdoor activities and home-based activities served as a strong predictor of happiness,life satisfaction,and health perceptions among older Korean *** suggest that engaging in outdoor activities and home-based activities is likely to increase the psychological and mental health of older Korean adults during the COVID-19 era.

Homeownership, city integration, and the sense of happiness of migrants in urban China

In the literature on the migrant phenomenon in China, homeownership, city integration, and sense of happiness have all been examined, yet the synergetic relationship among these three factors has not been fully discussed. This study uses the 2012 National Dynamic Monitoring Database of Migrants created by the National Health and Family Planning Commission of China to explore the cooperative relationship between migrants, homeownership, city in teg ration and the sense of happiness. Generally, renting houses reduces migrants/ sense of happiness. However, with migrantsz greater integration into the place to which they have migrated, the sense of happiness of migrants who live in rental houses is enhanced to a greater degree than those who live in their own houses. This phenomenon is clear among migrants who have moved from less developed regions to developed regions and among those who have moved relatively longer geographical distances. This study demonstrates a city integration mechanism through which homeownership influences migrants' sense of happiness. We con tribute to happiness economics research and propose a scientific basis for speeding up new urbanization as well as improving a housing system which encourages both house renting and purchasing in China.

When the global outbreak of new coronary pneumonia broke out in 2020,online public opinion events triggered by cultural differences among overseas students had come into the public *** further explore the relationship between the cultural alienation of overseas students and their own happiness,this study takes visualization and analysis of positive,negative sentiment analysis of Weibo netizens’comment data in the“Xu Kexin Incident”as the starting point,on the basis of introducing cultural alienation,stress relief methods,and cultural intelligence,combining gender and social ability,social relations and other individual attributes,designed a questionnaire to investigate 502 overseas students,through the construction and analysis of the adjusted Cox risk ratio intermedi-ary model,comprehensive single factor interference and multi-factor cross-over comprehensive *** results show that the cultural alienation of overseas students has a significant effect on their own *** study concluded as follows:(1)Netizens hold polarized views on the three dimensions of overseas students’mask,safety,and culture;(2)Stress relief methods play an intermediary role between cultural alienation and the happiness of overseas students,among which Negative stress relief methods play a greater role;(3)The level of cultural intelligence regulates the intermediary process of stress relief *** higher the level of cultural intelligence,the stronger the regulatory effect.

In this paper,I challenge the standard reading of complete virtue ((α)ρετ(η) τελε(ι)α) in those disputed passages of Nicomachean Ethics and Eudemian Ethics.I argue that,for Aristotle,complete virtue is neither (i) wisdom nor (ii) a whole set of all ***,it is a term used by Aristotle to denote any virtue that is in its complete or perfect *** light of this reading,I offer a pluralist interpretation of Aristotelian happiness.I argue that for Aristotle,the life-long exercise of a predominant virtue—as long as it is exercised in its complete or perfect form—will suffice for human *** so-called inclusivist and intellectualist notions of Aristotelian happiness,thus understood,are merely two forms (*** composite and the non-composite form) of the pluralist notion of Aristotelian *** if I am right,my pluralist interpretation provides an alternative,if not better,solution to the long-standing problem of "dual happiness" in Aristotle.

Role of Social Capital in Determining happiness and Life Satisfaction:Mediation of Self-reported Health Using Path Analysis

This study links social capital with people’s health and well-being using data from the seventh wave of the World Value Survey,logistic regression,and path *** study’s findings show that happiness and life satisfaction are two different measures of the same construct,or *** determinants of each are also characterised differently:while life satisfaction is more of a stable and relative measure and is more strongly influenced by civic cooperation,social participation,and educational attainment,happiness is more of an unstable measure and is more strongly influenced by community belonging,trust and confidence aggregates,including employment and location of residence of an ***,freedom of choice,financial satisfaction or social comparison,and state of health were the most important factors influencing happiness and life *** findings also show that self-reported health(SRH)has a greater impact on happiness than a measure of life *** analysis shows out of the three other components of social capital—community belonging,civic engagement,and social participation—trust and confidence aggregates are the ones that have the biggest impact on increased social *** both well-being measures,SRH mediated the *** life satisfaction measure had a higher level of mediation of SRH than happiness,but social capital had a smaller direct impact on life satisfaction than on *** was found to be partially mediating this relationship for both happiness and life satisfaction measures,which means that people with higher social capital reported feeling better off.
