Effectiveness of Huai Qi huang Granules on Juvenile Collagen-induced Arthritis and Its Influence on Pyroptosis Pathway in Synovial Tissue

Summary:Huai Qi huang(HQH)exerts great effects in clinic,such as anti-inflammation,immune-regulation,anti-cancer,and so ***,the mechanism by which HQH protects juvenile idiopathic arthritis(JIA)is ***,we explored deeply the protective mechanisms in juvenile collagen-induced arthritis(CIA)rat *** is Gasdermin D(GSDMD)-dependent programmed cell death,involved in many diseases,such as *** investigated whether GSDMD-induced pyroptosis take part in mechanisms of juvenile CIA *** Wistar rats(3-4 weeks)were injected intradermally with fully emulsified bovine typeⅡcollagen and complete Freund's adjuvant to establish CIA rat ***,the CIA rats received oral administration of HQH(4.16 g/kg)once a day from the day 21 of modeling,with the treatment lasting for 28 *** of indicators were measured for evaluation of anti-inflammation effect of HQH,including hind paw swelling,arthritis scores,micro CT,and histopathological changes and the level of pro-inflammatory cytokines in the serum,including tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-α)and interleukin-18(IL-18).The expression of GSDMD and caspasein the joint synovial tissues was *** results demonstrated that the expression of the pyroptotic protein GSDMD and its upstream caspase-1 was significantly increased in the synovial tissues of CIA *** treatment of HQH ameliorated the symptoms in CIA rats,reduced levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines and hind paw swelling,down-regulated the expression of GDSMD and *** pyroptosis participated in the pathogenesis of CIA *** study supported that HQH can effectively improve joints inflammation of juvenile collagen-induced arthritis rats by inhibiting pyroptosis pathway in the joint synovial tissues.

Objective To develop a plasma pharmacological method evaluates the effect of Da huang Zhe Chong capsule on platelet aggregation and its mechanism, which is a representative Traditional Chinese Medicine Patent Prescription Promoting blood circulation by removing blood stasis. Methods Platelets specimens from healthy volunteers made serum and plasma with medicine, while platelet PRP were separated, which were divided into 8groups,i.e. auto-serum, allo-serum, serum with Da huang Zhe Chong capsule , serum with aspirin, auto-plasma, plasma with Da huang Zhe Chong capsule, plasma with aspirin, every group added to serum and plasma to hatch. After ADP and adrenalin were added into the specimens and hatched, the effects of specimens on platelet aggregation were observed. Results After ADP adrenalin were added, all the serum groups did not present platelet aggregation,while all the plasma group presented platelet aggregation. P1, P5, Pmax, t and TM have no significant difference (P＞0. 05) between auto-plasma group and allo-plasma group induced by ADP and adrenalin. P1, P5, t and Pmax have significant differences (P＜0. 01) and TM decreased significantly (P＜0. 05) comparing plasma group with Da huang Zhe Chong capsule and plasma group of aspirin to allo-plasma group. P1, t and Pmax have significant difference (P＜0.05), and P5 and TM are simulate comparing plasma group with Da huang Zhe Chong capsule to plasma group of aspirin. P1, P5, t and Pmax have significant differences (P＜0. 01), P1, TM have also significant(P＜0. 05), comparing plasma group of Da huang Zhe Chong capsule with plasma of aspirin to allo-plasma group induced by adrenalin. P1 ,P5 and Pmax have significant differences (P＜0.05), and t and Pmax are simulate comparing plasma group with Da huang Zhe Chong capsule with plasma group of aspirin. Pien Tze huang(片仔癀) Overcomes Doxorubicin Resistance and Inhibits Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition in MCF-7/ADR Cells

Objective: To evaluate the effect of Pien Tze huang (片仔癀, PZH) on breast cancer chemo resistance and related epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and investigate the underlying mechanisms. Methods: 3-(4,5-Dimethyl-2-thiazolyl)-2,5-diphenyl-2-H-tetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay was used to determine the cell viability. Adriamycin (ADR) staining observed by fluorescence microscope was performed to detect the accumulation of ADR. Transwell assay was used to analyze the cell migration and invasion. Western-blot was performed to detect the protein expression of related genes. Results: MCF-7/ADR cells were resistant to ADR treatment, and PZH treatment inhibited the viability of MCF-7/ADR cells in a dose-dependent manner. PZH treatment also increased the intercellular accumulation of ADR and down-regulated the expression of ABCG2 and ABCB1 in MCF-7/ADR cells (P<0.05). In addition, PZH treatment inhibited EMT, migration and invasion of MCF-7/ADR cells (P<0.05). Moreover, PZH suppressed activation of transforming growth factor β 1 (TGF-β) signaling in MCF-7/ADR cells (P<0.05). Conclusion: PZH treatment can effectively overcome chemoresistance via down-regulating ABCG2, ABCB1 and inhibit EMT in ADR resistant human breast cancer cells via suppression of the TGF-β 1 pathway.

STUDY ON PREVENTIVE AND CURATIVE EFFECTS OF LIU WEI DI huang TANG ON TUMORS

Liu Wei Di huang Tang (LWDHT), a Chinese Prescription for strengthening the body re-sistance, restoring the normal functions of the body to consolidate the constitution, and nour-ishing and invigorating the kidney yin, has been used to prevent and treat severe hypeplasiaof esophageal epithelium for many years. The results of this experiment show that LWDHTcan increase markedly the number of lymphocytes, mainly T lymphocytes, in tumor--bearingmice. Free--flow electrophoresis shows that in tumor--bearing mice the electrophoretic char-acteristics of T lymphocytes are changed, i.e., reduction of the number of T lymphocyteswith a higher electrophoretic rate, but LWDHT can alleviate this disorder. Study on the cellmembrane fluidity of carcinoma cells in EAC mice demonstrates that LWDHT can decreasethe cell membrane fluidity. suggesting that it can inhibit division of carcinoma

Global Localization and Overseas Dissemination of huang Di Nei Jing English Translation

Aiming to promote overseas acceptance level of the domestic English version of huang Di Nei Jing Su Wen on the premise of preserving the cultural characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), this paper made a comparative analysis of different translations of Chinese character "和"(he) in three English versions of Su Wen, based on the discourse theory of "global localization". The analysis reveals that Li’s translation uses the strategy of transliteration plus interpretation to preserve the original Chinese classic’s style, thinking, and ideas, but the effect is not satisfactory. Veith’s free translation enables overseas readers to understand the content relatively easily, but fails to convey the rich TCM cultural connotation. Unschuld’s translation strictly follows the principles of linguistics in order to reflect the original thinking and idea to the utmost extent, and at the same time takes into account the expressions commonly used by the readers of English-speaking countries. That’s the reason why his translation enjoys the greatest popularity among professionals and the general public alike overseas. It is also clear from the analysis that different social historical contexts in which Su Wen was translated and each translator’s subjectivity determine translation’s target audiences, purposes, and ultimately translation strategies. Therefore, in order to speed up the "going out" of TCM culture, domestic translators are suggested to determine target audience and translation purpose in the first place, and study overseas readers’ knowledge background, information needs, reading habits, and value orientation before deciding the translation strategies.

Magneto-and pedo-stratigraphy of paleosol-loess sequences in the Lanzhou Basin:Evidence for evolution of huang He

Results of magnetopedostratigraphic study of three sections of loess in the LanzhouBasin are significant. (1) The oldest aeolian loess deposited on pediment in the Lanzhou Basindates back to 1.8 Ma, indicating the end of erosion development. (2) The highest (also oldest)terrace T7 is identified and dated at about 1.7 Ma. huang He began developing (about 1.8-1.7 Ma)after dissection of the pediment and before the oldest terrace formed. The incision rate of huangHe varied with time. Its two peak periods are from 1.8 to 1.7 Ma BP and from 0.15 Ma BP topresent, corresponding to episodic uplift of the Tibetan Plateau.

The efficacy of ma-huang-tang (maoto) against influenza

In this study, we compared Ma huang Tang (maoto), a traditional Japanese medicine (Kampo), with antiviral drugs to evaluate their respective and combined effect on the duration of fever and other subjective symptoms of influenza. Forty-five patients enrolled in this randomized control trial had positive type A influenza on rapid influenza antigen test, provided written consent, and sought treatment at Juntendo University Hospital between November 2008 and March 2009. Using a computer-gen- erated list, patients were randomly assigned to one of the four intervention groups: 1): maoto (TJ-27), 9 subjects;2): Tamiflu (oseltamivir), 13 subjects;3): Relenza (zanamivir), 6 subjects;and 4): maoto/oseltamivir combination, 9 subjects. Six outcome measures were evaluated, including fever, myalgia, headache, arthralgia, fatigue, and cough. Statistical differences were determined by the Bonferroni-adjusted t-test for multiple comparisons. Our results showed that there were no significant differences among the four groups in the time-course profile of fever and the number of days until fever resolution since treatment was initiated. In addition, no significant intergroup differences were detected in the number of days until resolution of myalgia, headache, fatigue, and cough. However, the maoto group reported a more rapid improvement in joint pain than the oseltamivir group (P = 0.01). In conclusion, maoto showed comparable efficacy as antiviral medications in reducing fever and influenza symptoms. As serious concerns over the indiscriminate use, adverse reactions, and resistance to current antiviral drugs continue to grow, maoto may serve as an elegant option for the treatment of influenza.
