Factors associated with unprotected anal intercourse among male students who have sex with men in three Northern regions of China

Background:Unprotected anal intercourse (UAI) has previously been associated with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection.Male students who have sex with men (SMSM) are at increased exposure to experience UAI.The aim of this study was to investigate the status of UAI and related factors among SMSM in three northern regions of China.Methods:From November 2018 to January 2019,SMSM,18 years or older,studying or living in Beijing,Tianjin,or Shijiazhuang,who had anal sex in the past 6 months were recruited by community-based organizations to participate in an unmatched,casecontrol study.Detailed demographic and behavioral information were collected via self-administrated electronic questionnaires and factors related to UAI were assessed using uni-and multivariate logistic regression analyses.Results:Among the 511 SMSM included in the study,210 (41.1%) reported UAI in the past 6 months.SMSM who had sexual partners at least 10 years older than themselves (odds ratio [OR]=2.277,95% confidence interval [CI]:1.380-3.756),used vacant capsules before sexual activity (OR =3.858,95 % CI:1.472-10.106),had a self-perceived moderate-HIV risk (OR =2.128,95 %CI:1.403-3.227),and unprotected,first anal intercourse (OR =2.236,95 % CI:1.506-3.320) had increased odds of UAI.Contusions:Factors associated with increased odds of engaging in UAI in the past 6 months among SMSM included having older sexual partners,using vacant capsules,having a self-perceived moderate risk of HIV,and unprotected,first anal intercourse.Continuing education on risk reduction,including improving condom decision making in age-discordant relationships could help address the sexual risk behaviors among SMSM.

Background:Emerging evidence indicates nitrite inhalants have become increasingly prevalent among men who have sex with men(MSM).The present study aimed to describe the prevalence and correlates of nitrite inhalants use and its association with risky sexual behaviors and human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)/syphilis infection among MSM in Chongqing,a city in China where MSM were burdened with the highest pooled HIV prevalence in the country.Methods:This cross-sectional study was conducted in Chongqing between March 2019 and February 2020.Information of demographics,drug use,sexual behaviors and HIV testing was collected through an anonymous survey.Blood samples were drawn from each participant for the diagnoses of HIV and syphilis.Logistic regression analysis was performed to evaluate factors correlated with nitrite inhalants use and its relationship with risky sexual behaviors and HIV/syphilis infection.Results:Of the 1151 eligible participants,18.9%(218)reported use of at least one type of recreational drugs in the past 6 months,and nitrite inhalants were the most commonly used substance(17.7,95%confidence interval[CI]:15.6-20.2%).The proportions of participants reported engaging in group sex and practicing condomless internal ejaculation during anal sex in the past six months were 5.8%(95%CI:4.4-7.2%)and 41.7%(95%CI:38.7-44.7%),respectively.The general prevalence of HIV and syphilis infection among the enrolled MSM were 16.8%(95%CI:14.7-19.0%)and 12.6%(95%CI:10.7-14.4%),respectively.Factors positively associated with nitrite inhalants use included:age<25(adjusted odds ratio[aOR]=2.08,95%CI:1.10-3.94),monthly individual income≥CNY 3000(Chinese Yuan)(aOR=1.95,95%CI:1.18-3.22),preferring receptive anal intercourse(aOR=2.27,95%CI:1.34-3.84)and versatile anal intercourse(aOR=2.60,95%CI:1.64-4.13),age at first anal intercourse<18(aOR=1.79,95%CI:1.21-2.67),engaging in group sex in the past six months(aOR=9.34,95%CI:4.95-17.63),having multiple male sex partners in the past 6 months(aOR=2.32,95%CI:1.50-3.58),practicing CI

Human brain development is a complex process that continues between birth and maturity, and monitoring the underlying maturational changes at these stages is crucial for our understanding of typical development as well as neurodevelopmental disorders. During the critical periods of brain development, on one hand, many human capacities originate, but on the other hand, a brain undergoing rapid plastic changes may also be vulnerable to neuropsychiatric disorders . Multi-modal magnetic resonance imaging （MRI） has been increasingly used for its ability to noninvasively reveal structural and functional changes in the brain. However, interpretation of the neurobiological processes underlying the findings obtained with MRI is very limited .

Identifying Influence of Nodes in Complex Networks with Coreness Centrality:Decreasing the Impact of Densely Local Connection

Ranking nodes by their spreading ability has been a fundamental issue related to many real applications, such as information and disease control. In the well-known coreness centrality measure, nodes＇ influence is ranked only by summing all neighbors＇ k-shell values while the effect of the topological connections among them on the nodes＇ spreading ability are ignored. In this work, we propose an improved coreness measure by decreasing the impact of densely local connections. Comparing the results from a series of susceptible-infected-recovered simulations on real networks, we show that our improved method can rank the nodes＇ spreading ability more accurately than other ranking measures such as k-shell, distance based method, mixed degree decomposition and coreness centrality method.

Since the adoption of the Paris Agreement, almost all countries have submitted their nationally determined contributions (NDCs) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) secretariat. Those submissions form the basis for the implementation of Paris Agreement. However, recent research [1] has shown that existing NDCs will not bring the world to the goal of limiting global temperature increase to below 2 °C above preindustrial levels, much less achieving the goal of limiting warming to 1.5 °C [2,3].

A Relation of the Noncommutative Parameters in Generalized Noncommutative Phase Space

We introduce the deformed boson operators which satisfy a deformed boson algebra in some special types of generalized noncommutative phase space. Based on the deformed boson algebra, we construct coherent state representations. We calculate the variances of the coordinate operators on the coherent states and investigate the corresponding Heisenberg uncertainty relations. It is found that there are some restriction relations of the noncommutative parameters in these special types of noncommutative phase space.

Size estimates of nobel gas clusters by Rayleigh scattering experiments

Noble gases (argon, krypton, and xenon) are puffed into vacuum through a nozzle to produce clusters for studying laser-cluster interactions. Good estimates of the average size of the argon, krypton and xenon clusters are made by carrying out a series of Rayleigh scattering experiments. In the experiments, we have found that the scattered signal intensity varied greatly with the opening area of the pulsed valve. A new method is put forward to choose the appropriate scattered signal and measure the size of Kr cluster.

BiS_2-Layer Gives Giant Birefringence:First-Principles Calculations

Birefringence attracts increasing attention due to its extensive applications in the imaging spectrometer, laser devices and optical components. Stimulated 5y the discovery of the giant birefringenee （GBF） in LaOBiS2 and AFBiS2~ we explore its origin by checking three compounds with and without the BiS2 layer： Bi20S2 （i.e., BiOBiS2）, Bi202S and LaOA1S2. It is demonstrated that OBF appears only in the compounds with the BiS2 layer and is furthermore confirmed in MOBiS2 （M=AI, Ga, In and Sc） compounds. The result is useful for discovering/developing new-type birefringent crystal or even multifunctional materials.
