Two new records of hydnoid fungi from the Western Ghats of India

During inventory of macrofungi in the forests of Western Ghats,two hitherto unrecorded rare hydnoid taxa,gyrodontium sacchari(Spreng.)Hjortstam(Agaricomycetes,Boletales,Coniophoraceae)and Hericium cirrhatum(Pers.)Nikol.(Agaricomycetes,Russulales,Hariciaceae)were recovered on decaying *** are reported from North-Eastern India,thus the present report constitutes the first report for the Western Ghats of *** communication embodies brief systematic accounts with illustrations,substrates,distributions and economic value of these hydnoid fungi.
