STUDY ON THE MENSTRUOUS STATES AND BONE MINERAL STATES IN ELITE RHYTHMIC gymnastic ATHLETES

All of the 20 subjects aged 15-19 years were national elite rhythme gymnastic athletes. They had been trained for 4-10 years, and 13 athletes had sports grade of master sportsman (one of them has not had menes aged 16 years). Their menstruous states were investigated and bone mineral states were determined. The results, indicated that elite rhythmic gymnastic athletes were in a serious condition of menstrual dysfunction. Sixteen athletes were in abnormal minstruation among nineteen athletes, the average was 84. 2%. The mean BMD of these athletes decreased, compared will ordinary people. That was to say the results did not reveal the advantage of sports on bone growth and develpment in atbletes of menstrual disorder which might relate to menstrual dysfuncton. Further analysis made it clear that BMC and BMD of athletes in indefinited menstruation, amenorrhea and menorrhalgia, were significantly lower compared will athletes in eumenorrhea. The results might be taken as a warning to elite athletes of their bad health condition. It is necessary to make further study on exertional menstruous disorder, because part of the female athletes are in abnormal menstruation.

Potential Legal Issues and Care Implications during Care-Prevention gymnastic Exercises for the Elderly Using Pepper in Long Term Health Care Facilities

In Japan, the shortage of personnel is a problem in long-term care nursing and rehabilitative care prevention. Nevertheless, Japan has taken measures to compensate for these shortages by promoting medical and nursing care activities using robotic technologies, and employing human resources from overseas. The purpose of this study was to determine potential legal issues and subsequent implications for care during prevention gymnastic exercises for the elderly using Pepper in long-term health facilities. The application program of Care-Prevention gymnastics Exercises for Pepper (Pepper with CPGE) was made by the Xing Company Japan. Currently, care workers become intermediaries for the safe use of Pepper with CPGE. However, it was realized that some legal issues may arise if Pepper with CPGE alone will carry out these preventive care programs for the elderly without the presence of care workers as intermediaries. In this situation, using Pepper with CPGE alone to conduct care prevention gymnastics will require safety measures to prevent these possible practice issues and anticipate implications for care. In this regard, determining detailed target levels of rehabilitation exercise demands and environmental setting safety become essential factors. The use of humanoid robots in healthcare is expected to influence more practice protocols in contemporary and futurist rehabilitative human care. The identification of possible safety issues in performance and environmental situations, and implications for care are critical to ensure safe and valuable rehabilitative health care practices for the elderly population.

The Addition of Strength Training to Practice of High Intensity Group gymnastics May Not Imply in Highest Levels of Strength and Quality of Life: A Cross-Sectional Study

The aim of the present study was to compare the levels of maximum strength, endurance muscular and quality of life among practitioners of group gymnastics (IG) of isolated form and practitioners of group gymnastics combinated with strength training (CG). This study is characterized as observational of comparative cross-sectional design. The sample was composted by young women, trained at least for three months, without health complications. Maximum strength (1RM) and endurance muscular (repetition at 60% 1RM) of the lower limbs were evaluated in knee extension exercise, unilaterally. Overall quality of life and in four domains was evaluated by the WHOQOL-bref. Data were described by mean and standard deviation values. Outcomes were compared by independent t-test, adopting a significance level (α) of 0.05. Thirty women were evaluated (isolated gymnastic (IG), n = 15;30.13 ± 7.24 years—combined gymnastic and strength (CG), n = 15;29.46 ± 8.18 years). Similarly values were found among groups for all outcomes (p > 0.05). The results suggest that the association of strength training with gymnastics training, possibly accumulating excessive training volume, may not increase the levels of maximum strength, endurance muscular and quality of life in young women.
