Total dissolved gas supersaturation(TDGS) appears when the pressures of gases in a solution exceed the barometric *** is often caused by flood discharge at *** may lead to gas bubble disease(GBD) for fish and biochemical responses of selected fish and other aquatic *** purpose of this study was to determine the impact of long-term TDGS levels on the growth and biochemical responses of rock carp(Procypris rabaudi Tchang) dwelling in the upper reaches of the Yangtze ***-year-old rock carp were exposed to TDGS levels at 100%,104%,108%,112%,and 116% for 42 *** were taken every 7 d after the start of the trial in order to determine catalase(CAT) and superoxide dismutase(SOD) activities in gill and muscle *** were taken at Days 0 and 42 of exposure to determine growth *** effect was found on growth rate in all treatment *** and CAT activities varied in different tissues,according to time of exposure and TDGS *** biochemical response of fish exposed to TDGS was more obvious in gill tissue than in muscle *** of SOD and CAT activities in different tissues offer important information about the effect of TDGS on the rare fish in the Yangtze River,and may help evaluate the risk to the aquatic eco-environment and aquatic ecosystem in the downstream of the Yangtze River.

C-rowth rate, microstructure and phase composition of scale layer formed during oxidation in 56 % H2O9%O2 N2 and following continuous cooling in ambient air were experimentally investigated by means of optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy （SEM）, energy-dispersive spectroscopy （EDS） and X-ray diffraction （XRD） for 45, 20CrMnTi and TTS443M steels respectively, to examine the effects of strand surface temperature and steel composition on the scale formation in simulated continudus casting process. The growth rates were found to be ap proximately parabolic and the calculated activation energy of TTS443M steel is much higher than those of the two other steels. For 45 and 20CrMnTi steels, the scale layers were looser and a distinct gap formed at the scale-sub strate interface at higher strand surface temperature. The dominant phases within the scale were iron oxides except for FeO · Cr2O3 phase simuhaneously existing in the oxide scale of 20CrMnTi steel. On the other hand, the scale layer formed on TTS443M steel was compact and tightly attached to the steel surface. At both lower and higher strand surface temperature, iron oxide was main phase in external layer of the scale, while chromia was dominant in inner layer with an appreciable Cr enrichment.

A complete control type plant factory has high efficiency in terms of cultivation area by constructing vertical multiple layered cultivation ***,it has a problem of irregular crop growth due to temperature deviation at upper and lower beds and increases in energy consumption by a prolonged cultivation *** this work,air flow rate inside a facility was improved by a hybrid control of air flow devices like air conditioning and air circulation fan with an established wireless sensor network to minimize temperature deviations between upper and lower beds and to promote crop *** performance of proposed system was verified with an experimental environment or Case A wherein air conditioning device was operated without a control algorithm and Case B wherein air conditioning and circulation fans were alternatively operated based on the hybrid control *** planting leafy vegetables under each experimental condition,crops were cultivated for 21 *** a result,Case B wherein AC(air conditioning) and ACF(air-circulation fan) were alternatively operated based on the hybrid control algorithm showed that fresh mass,number of leaves,and leaf length for the crops grown were increased by 40.6%,41.1%,and 11.1%,respectively,compared to Case A.

The effects of corrugated ion channels on electron trajectories and spatial growth rate for a free-electron laser with a one-dimensional helical wiggler have been investigated. Analysis of the steady-state electron trajectories is performed by solving the equations of motion. Our results show that the presence of a corrugated channel shifts the resonance frequency to smaller values of ion channel frequency. The sixth-order dispersion equation describing the coupling between the electrostatic beam mode and the electromagnetic mode has also been derived. The dispersion relation characteristic is analyzed in detail by numerical solution. Results show that the growth rate of instability in the presence of corrugated ion channels can be greatly enhanced relative to the case of an uniform ion channel.

Taking Fe-0.15wt%C-0.8wt%Mn steel as the research object, in situ observations of the 8 phase growth process during solidifica- tion were conducted by using a high-temperature confocal scanning laser microscope （HTCSLM）. The effects of the solid/liquid （S/L） inter- face＇s shape, temperature, and curvature radius on the lateral growth rate of 6 phase were investigated in detail, and the relational expression among the lateral growth rate of 5 phase, temperature, and curvature radius of column-shaped ~ phase was deduced for the carbon steel dur- ing solidificatiorL The results indicate the growth rate of the concave-shaped S/L interface is larger than that of the convex-shaped S/L inter- face during the beginning growth of ~ phase, but these two kinds of growth rates gradually approach with proceeding in solidification. The calculated lateral growth rate of 6 phase is consistent with the experimental result at a cooling rate of 0.045℃/s.

Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) progresses fast and has a poor prognosis, but the growth rate in different TNM stages is not clear. The present study was to estimate the growth rate of HCC with different TNM stages at diagnosis. Methods: Baseline demographics and tumor characteristics were analyzed for 10145 patients in Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results(SEER) Program-registered HCC. Multiple linear regression models were used for age adjustment with patient race, sex, marital status, and HCC grade. Results: The age at diagnosis was younger in Caucasians and males. The adjusted average age of patients with stage I HCC was 65.26 years. The adjusted age of patients with stage II, IIIA, IIIB, and IIIC was-0.17,-0.25,-0.29, and-0.55 adjusted-year younger compared with patients with stage I HCC(all P rated that the more advanced the HCC stage at diagnosis, the younger the age at diagnosis and the faster the HCC growth from tumor occurrence.

The radial growth of ＆phase in Fe 0.15 ℃ 0.8 ~ Mn steel during solidification was in-situ observed under a high temperature confocal scanning laser microscope （HTCSLM）. The correlation between radial growth rate of cylindrical solid and time in melt was investigated, and the expression was deduced. The results indicate that the ra- dius of cellular B-phase rapidly enlarges at the beginning, and then the enlargement amplitude gradually declines. The variation of radial growth rate vs time is the same for each cellular δ- phase, and the radial growth rate of c3-phase rapidly declines to about 1.5 μm/s within 10 s at a cooling rate of 2.7 K/min, after that the growth rate slowly falls. The experimental data of the radial growth rate of cellular δ- phase are consistent with the calculation results for Fe 0. 15℃ -0.8%Mn steel .

A two-dimensional global chemistry model is developed to study the distribution andlong-term trends of methane. The model contains 34 species and 104 chemical andphotochemical reactions. Using the model, the long-term trends of CH4, CO and OH in atmosphere are simulated, comparison between the model and observations shows that thesimulation is *** are done to investigate the causes of dramatic decrease in the growth rate ofCH4 in 1992 such as OH increase due to stratospheric ozone depletion, decrease of temperature in the troposphere due to Mount Pinatubo eruption and descendent of CH4 sources fluxes.A new explanation is proposed and verified by this model that the decrease of CO emissionplays an important role for the abnormal growth rate of CH4 in 1992. We find that the decreases of CH4 and CO emissions are the main reasons for the sudden decrease of growth rateof CH4 in 1992, which account for 73% and 27% respectively.

Age and growth rate are critical parameters determining the body size of adult anurans,which grow ***,evaluating their relative importance and selective pressures acting on them may help to explain variation in body size of anurans across geographical *** on the data on body size and skeletochronological age of 4 Asiatic toad(Bufo gargarizans)populations that are widely separated in latitude,the present study showed that toads at the northern extremity of the range were the oldest,on average,and grew relatively fast,toads at the southern end of the range were relatively old but grew fastest,whereas mid-latitude toads were intermediate in both *** results indicated that relative contributions of age and growth rate to body size differed among *** a life history perspective,greater age attained by toads at higher latitudes should result from delayed maturation,and faster growth from an adaptive response to strong seasonal time constraints;in contrast,selective pressures on the 2 parameters at lower latitudes might be associated,respectively,with low adult death rates and longer favorable growing seasons.
