The gross conjecture over rational function fields

We study the gross conjecture for the cyclotomic function field extension k(∧f)/k where k = Fq(t) is the rational function field and f is a monic polynomial in Fq[t].We prove the conjecture in the Fermat curve case(i.e., when f = t(t - 1)) by a direct calculation. We also prove the case when f is irreducible, which is analogous to the Weil reciprocity law. In the general case, we manage to show the weak version of the gross conjecture here.

The gross conjecture over Q was first claimed by Aoki in 1991.However,the original proof contains too many mistakes and false claims to be considered as a serious proof.This paper is an attempt to find a sound proof of the gross conjecture under the outline of Aoki.We reduce the conjecture to an elementary conjecture concerning the class numbers of cyclic 2-extensions of Q.

Maize is one of the most important crops cultivated on the global scale.Accurate estimation of maize gross Primary Production(GPP)can provide valuable information for regional and global carbon budget studies.From site level to regional/global scales,GPP estimation depends on remote sensing or eddy covariance flux data.In this research,the 8-day composite GPP of maize was estimated by Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS)and flux tower data at eight study sites using a Regional Production Efficiency Model(REG-PEM).The performance of the model was assessed by analyzing the linearly regression of GPP estimated from the REG-PEM model(GPPEST)with the GPP predicted from the eddy covariance data(GPPEC).The coefficient of determination,root mean squared error and mean absolute error of the regression model were calculated.The uncertainties of the model are also discussed in this research.The seasonal dynamics(phases and magnitudes)of the GPPEST reasonably agreed with those of GPPEC,indicating the potential of the satellite-driven REG-PEM model for up-scaling the GPP in maize croplands.Furthermore,the maize GPP estimated by this model is more accurate than the MODIS GPP products(MOD17A2).In particular,MOD17A2 significantly underestimated the GPP of maize croplands.The uncertainties in the REG-PEM model are mostly contributed by the maximum light use efficiency and the fraction of photosynthetically active radiation.

A new idea and a distinctive method have been proposed, which concern real errors and their estimators. By using the idea of 'Quasi-Stable Adjustment' created by Prof. Zhou Jiangwen for reference, the rank-deficient equations on real errors are resolved by adding the conditions under which the minimum of the norm of the real errors of the quasi-accurate observations is restrained.

The gross alpha (α) and beta (β) activities and trace heavy elemental concentrations have been determined in Single Super Phosphate (SSP) and Nitrogen Phosphorous Potassium (NPK) fertilizers samples used for agricultural purposes in Nigeria. Cultivated farm soil samples from two regions (north and south) in the country and samples of phosphate rocks were also analyzed for gross α and β radioactivity and elemental concentrations. The beta activity concentration in the NPK (15-15-15) fertilizers was found to vary from 2410.0 ± 80.0 Bq·kg–1 to 4560 ± 140.0 Bq·kg–1, between 1340.0 ± 70.0 Bq·kg–1 and 1440.0 ± 70.0 Bq·kg–1 in the Single Super phosphate fertilizers while in the farm soil it ranged between 360.0 ± 40.0 Bq·kg–1 to 570.0 ± 50.0 for the north samples and 200.0 ± 50.0 to 230.0 ± 20 Bq·kg–1 for the south samples. The alpha activities in the NPK fertilizers was found to vary from 20.0 ± 10.0 to 90.0 ± 20.0 Bq·kg–1, in the SSP it varied from 60.0 ± 20.0 to 100.0 ± 20.0 Bq·kg–1 while in the soil samples it varied from 8.0 ± 6.0 to 40.0 ± 10.0

Due to some shortcomings in the current multiple hypothesis solution separation advanced receiver autonomous integrity monitoring(MHSS ARAIM)algorithm,such as the weaker robustness,a number of computational subsets with the larger computational load,a method combining MHSS ARAIM with gross error detection is proposed in this paper.The gross error detection method is used to identify and eliminate the gross data in the original data first,then the MHSS ARAIM algorithm is used to deal with the data after the gross error detection.Therefore,this makes up for the weakness of the MHSS ARAIM algorithm.With the data processing and analysis from several international GNSS service(IGS)and international GNSS monitoring and assessment system(iGMAS)stations,the results show that this new algorithm is superior to MHSS ARAIM in the localizer performance with vertical guidance down to 200 feet service(LPV-200)when using GPS and BDS measure data.Under the assumption of a single-faulty satellite,the effective monitoring threshold(EMT)is improved about 22.47%and 9.63%,and the vertical protection level(VPL)is improved about 32.28%and 12.98%for GPS and BDS observations,respectively.Moreover,under the assumption of double-faulty satellites,the EMT is improved about 80.85%and 29.88%,and the VPL is improved about 49.66%and 18.24%for GPS and BDS observations,respectively.

Empirical Analysis of gross Domestic Product and Coal Import Based on VAR Model

The speed of China’s economic development is gradually accelerating, and the demand for energy is also constantly increasing, especially the demand for coal. In order to reveal whether the coal imports have an impact on China’s economic development, this paper constructs the VAR(6) model by selecting the quarterly data of coal imports (CIV) and gross domestic product (GDP) from 2002 to 2017, performing ADF (Augmented Dickey-Fuller) stationarity test and Johansen cointegration test. It shows that there is a long-term stable equilibrium relationship between coal imports and GDP. Then the impulse response function is used to obtain the relationship between coal imports and GDP. It is found that the impact of coal imports on GDP is greater than the impact of GDP on coal imports.

This work was carried out to investigate the efficacy of sensory integration therapy in improving gross motor coordination and grip control in Down syndrome children. Thirty children were enrolled in this study and randomly assigned into two groups: group A received (sensory integration therapy program plus specific physiotherapy training) and group B received (specific physiotherapy training program only). Motor coordination test measures (Balancing backward, Hopping, Jumping from side to side and Transferring boxes) to test and follow gross motor coordination, handheld dynamometer to test and follow grip control ability and kinesthesia test to test and follow awareness of joint position and movement. These measurements were taken before initial treatment and after 12 weeks of treatment. The children parents in both groups A and B were instructed to complete 3 hours of the home routine program. Data analysis was available on the 30 Down syndrome children participating in the study. The difference between pre- and post-treatment results was more significant in Motor coordination test measures in the study group than the control group. Grip control ability and kinesthesia test demonstrate representative improvement in the study groups (p = 0.0001) while insignificant in the kinesthesia control group and significant in a grip control group. The addition of sensory integration therapy program to specific physiotherapy training is recommended in improving gross motor coordination and grip control abilities in Down syndrome, so this suggested approach may be used as a selective choice for improving posture control and hand functions in Down syndrome children.
