第二次世界大战以来，随着人类社会生产方式的深刻变迁，诸如环境污染、气候变化、物种减少、生物安全等全球性问题凸显，加上核威胁、恐怖主义等非传统安全问题，生活于“地球村”的人类在共同面对的风险挑战面前日益成为“境遇共同体”“利益共同体”“价值共同体”——“命运共同体”。面对“世界怎么了，人类社会向何处去”的“时代之问”，迫切需要以新的智慧创造出契合时代要求的道义准则。新时代的中国特色社会主义，走的是一条“己欲立而立人、己欲达而达人”的和平发展道路，日益繁荣兴盛的中国是世界稳定之锚、全球发展的重要动力源，基于自身发展实践而提炼、升华的“人类命运共同体”，在本质上超越了植根于资本主义制度体系的“国强必霸”“冷战思维”等“零和博弈”的旧有范式，是当今世界唯一能够引领人类摆脱困境、走向新生的“全球伦理”。

Exploring the social,ethical,legal,and responsibility dimensions of artificial intelligence for health-a new column in Intelligent Medicine

This essay is the starting point of a new column in Intelligent Medicine that invites interdisciplinary perspectives on the social,ethical,legal,and responsibility aspects of the use of artificial intelligence(AI)in medicine and health care.Papers in this column will examine the practical,conceptual,and policy dimensions of the use of AI for health-related purposes from comparative and international perspectives.We invite contributions from around the world in all application areas of AI for health,including health care,health research,drug development,health care system management,as well as public health and public health surveillance.The column aims to provide a forum for reflective and critical scholarship that contributes to the ongoing academic and policy debates about the development,use,governance,and implications of AI in medical and health care settings.To launch the column,we first provide an overview of recent approaches that have been developed to identify and address the effects and potential impacts of science and technology innovations on human societies and the environment.These include ethical,legal,and social implications/aspects(ELSI/A)research,responsible research and innovation(RRI),sustainability transitions research,and the use of international standard-setting instruments for responsible and open science issued by the United Nations Educational,Scientific,and Cultural Organization(UNESCO),the World Health Organization(WHO),and other international bodies.In Part Two of this essay,we discuss some of the central challenges that arise with regard to the integration of AI and big data analytics in medical and health care settings.This includes concerns regarding(i)the control,reliability,and trustworthiness of AI systems,(ii)privacy and surveillance,(iii)the impact of AI and automation on health care staffemployment and the nature of clinical work,(iv)the effects of AI on health inequalities,justice,and access to medical care,and(v)challenges related to regulation and governance.We end the ess

How Could a global Ethic Be Grounded on a Religious Foundation?

Through a case analysis of Christianity and Confucianism,this essay argues that if the world’s religions genuinely hope to establish a global ethic by jointly affirming some irrevocable and unconditional ethical directives,each on the basis of their own religious grounds,they should trust in their specific ultimate realities in a universalistic way instead of in a particularistic way;that is,they may not place these ultimate realities above the bottom-line moral principle“respecting everyone’s deserved rights”absolutely,but must assign a prior position to the latter and integrate it with their trust in their specific ultimate realities through a critical self-transformation.

Escalating Legitimacy Crises:Dwindling Political Authority and the Pursuit of Justice in Islamic,National and global Arenas

Western and Islamic societies suffer from a common ailment-their citizens are losing trust in the basic integrity of their political institutions.There is a growing sense that systematic injustices are the core reasons behind economic,political and social crises.The result is a global decline of political authority.Embattled liberals in the West and the Islamic world want to bolster struggling democracies,new and old.Both groups see religion as indispensable in coping with chronic crises of legitimacy.Western liberalism’s sense of vulnerability is paving the way for a rediscovery of Islamic Modernism.Western liberals hope that open-minded Muslims can help them combat fundamentalisms of all stripes,including extremist tendencies surging in America and Europe.Today’s Islamic Modernists comprise an influential network of writers,interest groups and activists that can be valuable allies in transnational struggles for democracy and religious tolerance.

人类社会从各民族和国家单一的历史向统一世界史的转变，使我们看待世界的方式发生根本变化，“整体论的复兴”即因于此。由于处境和视角不同，整体论表现出构成论、先验论和生成论的不同类型，这既是其不同构型，又是其历史上的展开形态。作为人类总体命运思考方式之一的全球伦理，即以一种构成论思路展示其“伦理之伦理”的特征。全球伦理的最大优长是真实、开放和突出全球价值，其难处则在扩展、具体推动者、宗教基础和终极目的方面。与之相对的天下体系选择了先验论的思路。它试图以中国原初时代的天下范畴来取代全球或世界概念，并通过“以天下观天下”的方式超越西方从民族国家看天下的思维，因而具有很强的形而上学建构力。只是这一思路既无法协调先验的天下公理与经验的帝国模型的边界对接问题，更无法保证“天下”不再成为霸权，因而最后留下的可能只是一种“天下神学”。全球伦理和天下体系的共同困境在于它们囿于还原论的限制。生成论不同于这二种思维而把人类的自我理解由宗教和国家批判引向文明的反思。从文明发展的“大逻辑”看，人类文明史大体经历了三个不同时期——暴力逻辑合法性的普遍化时期、资本的全球化时期和文明或自由价值的普遍化时期。这大体对应着整体论思维发展的三种形态：先验论——构成论——生成论。文明复兴的基本任务是重新修复已被阻断了的文化自调机制，以共筑的姿态生成和塑造一个新文明。而目前最紧要的，是在生成论的框架内把人们已有的共识组织起来，确立类思维、建构非同一性哲学和推动互美伦理等，以形成一个思考未来、引导实践的初步规范。
