BACKGROUND: The main aim of this study is to utilize the geographical information system(GIS) software and perform the spatial analysis in relation to clinical data for road traffi c injury(RTI) pediatric cases attending the emergency ***: The study sample included pediatric patients(age less than 18 years) with roadrelated injuries within a district in Malaysia who attended emergency departments of two tertiary hospitals within the district. In addition to injury, pre-hospital care and outcome data, the coordinate of the locations were obtained by the ambulance paramedics by using portable handheld GPS unit brand Garmin? model GPS 72 H. The data was transferred into the excel format which in turn underwent GIS analysis by using ARCGIS?(by ESRI) software version 10.1 licensed to the study ***: A total of 102(24.8%) of all motor vehicle crash(MVC) victims involved the pediatric age group(age 18 years and below). The mean(SD) age of the pediatric victims was 14.30 years(SD 3.830). Male comprised of 68(66.7%) of the cases. Motorcyclists [88(88.0%)] were the most common type of victims involved. Interestingly, the majority of the severely injured victims [75(73%)] sustained the RTI on roads with maximum speed limit of 60 km/hour. The mean(SD) length of hospital stay was 7.83 days(5.59).CONCLUSION: The pediatric related road traffic injury in Malaysia causes significant health and social burden in the country. This study showed both important clinical and geographical factors that need to be taken into consideration for future preventive action.

This paper proposed a virtual quadtree (VQT) based loose architecture of multi-level massive geospatial data for integrating massive geospatial data dispersed in the departments of different hierarchies in the same sector into a unified GIS (Geographic Information System) platform. By virtualizing the nodes of the quad-tree,the VQT separates the structure of data organization from data storage,and screens the difference between the data storage in local computer and in the re-mote computers in network environment. And by mounting,VQT easily integrates the data from the remote computers into the local VQT so as to implement seam-less integration of distributed multi-level massive geospatial data. Based on that mode,the paper built an application system with geospatial data over 1200 GB distributed in 12 servers deployed in 12 cities. The experiment showed that all data can be seamlessly rapidly traveled and performed zooming in and zooming out smoothly.

Although big data are widely used in various fields,its application is still rare in the study of mining subsidence prediction(MSP)caused by underground *** research in MSP has the problem of oversimplifying geological mining conditions,ignoring the fluctuation of rock layers with *** the context of geospatial big data,a data-intensive FLAC3D(Fast Lagrangian Analysis of a Continua in 3 Dimensions)model is proposed in this paper based on borehole *** the modeling process,we developed a method to handle geospatial big data and were able to make full use of borehole *** effectiveness of the proposed method was verified by comparing the results of the traditional method,proposed method,and field *** findings show that the proposed method has obvious advantages over the traditional prediction *** relative error of the maximum surface subsidence predicted by the proposed method decreased by 93.7%and the standard deviation of the prediction results(which was 70 points)decreased by 39.4%,on *** data-intensive modeling method is of great significance for improving the accuracy of mining subsidence predictions.

The Mahanadi delta,deposited on a series of horst and graben basement structures,is considered an extension of the East Lambert Rift of *** study is based on the hydrogeochemical assessment of this deltaic aquifer system and geospatial analysis thereof,to appreciate the basement structure influence on groundwater *** ion chemistry of subsurface waters portrays a distinct saline contamination across the terrain and varied regimes of water types,specifically with respect to southern and northern parts of this aquifer *** of the study indicate a general near surface saline horizon and significant fragmentation of the hydrostatic ***,in turn,implies noteworthy influence of formational water to salinity regimes and basin structural changes for the escape of these waters to surroundings.A plot of recent low intensity earthquakes displays proximity of epicenters to the faults as well as striking similarity to the trend of terrestrial faults indicating multiple reactivations of the *** further corroborate the above findings,spatial pattern analysis of individual hydrochemical variables is carried out which reveals specific clusters of sources(groundwater mixing)and sinks(groundwater dispersion) in proximity to basement fault *** the faults can be disregarded as conduits or barriers owing to their great depth,the overlying sedimentary mass,particularly,the horizons with significant clayey content have been distorted due to post rift subsidence and fault reactivations.A proximity analysis of ionic clusters points towards a greater influence of longitudinal faults to that of the transverse ones on groundwater mixing or dispersion.
