The integration of dual-mesoporous structures,the construction of heterojunctions,and the incorporation of highly concentrated oxygen vacancies are pivotal for advancing metal oxide-based gas ***,achieving an optimal design that simultaneously combines mesoporous structures,precise heterojunction modulation,and controlled oxygen vacancies through a one-step process remains *** study proposes an innovative method for fabricating zinc stannate semiconductors featuring dual-mesoporous structures and tunable oxygen vacancies via a direct solution precursor plasma spray *** a proof of concept,the resulting zinc stannate-based coatings are applied to detect 2-undecanone,a key biomarker for rice ***,the zinc oxide/zinc stannate heterojunctions with a well-defined secondary pore structure exhibit exceptional gas-sensing performance for 2-undecanone at room ***,practical experiments indicate that the developed sensor effectively identifies adulteration in various rice *** results underscore the potential of this method for designing metal oxides with tailored properties for high-performance gas *** enhanced adsorption capacity and dual-mesoporous features of this semiconductor make it a promising candidate for sensing applications in agricultural food safety inspections.

In this paper, a hexagonal shape photonic crystal fiber （H-PCF） has been proposed as a gas sensor of which both micro-structured core and cladding are organized by circular air cavities. The reported H-PCF has a single layer circular core which is surrounded by a five-layer hexagonal cladding. The overall pretending process of the H-PCF is completed by using a full vectorial finite element method （FEM） with perfectly matched layer （PML） boundary condition. All geometrical parameters like diameters and pitches of both core and cladding regions have fluctuated with an optimized structure. After completing the numerical analysis, it is clearly visualized that the proposed H-PCF exhibits high sensitivity with low confinement loss. The investigated results reveal the relative sensitivity of 56.65% and confinement loss of 2.31×10^-5 dB/m at the 1.33%tm wavelength. Moreover, effective area, nonlinearity, and V-parameter of the suggested PCF are also briefly described.

The rapid industrial growth and increasing population have led to significant pollution and deterioration of the natural atmospheric *** atmospheric pollutants include NO_(2)and CO_(2).Hence,it is imperative to develop NO_(2)and CO_(2)sensors for ambient conditions,that can be used in indoor air quality monitoring,breath analysis,food spoilage detection,*** the present study,two thin film nanocomposite(nickel oxide-graphene and nickel oxide-silver nanowires)gas sensors are fabricated using direct ink *** nano-composites are investigated for their structural,optical,and electrical *** the nano-composite is deposited on the interdigitated electrode(IDE)pattern to form NO_(2)and CO_(2)*** deposited films are then exposed to NO_(2)and CO_(2)gases separately and their response and recovery times are determined using a custom-built gas sensing *** oxide-graphene provides a good response time and recovery time of 10 and 9 s,respectively for NO_(2),due to the higher electron affinity of graphene towards NO_(2).Nickel oxide-silver nanowire nano-composite is suited for CO_(2)gas because silver is an excellent electrocatalyst for CO_(2)by giving response and recovery times of 11 s *** is the first report showcasing NiO nano-composites for NO_(2)and CO_(2)sensing at room temperature.

Hazardous gases have been strongly associated with being a detriment to human life within the environment The development of a reliable gas sensor with high response and selectivity is of great signifcance for detecting different hazardous ***_(2) nanomaterials are promising candidates with great potential and excellent per-formance in gas sensor applications,such as hydrogen,acetone,ammonia,and ethanol *** review begins with a detailed discussion of the di ferent dimensional morphologies of TiO_(2),whitch affect the gas sensing performance of TiO_(2) *** diverse morphologies of TiO_(2) can easily be tuned by regulating the manufacturing ***,they exhibit unique characteristics for detecting gases,including large specific suface area,superior elecron tr ansport rates,extraordinary pemmeability,and active reaction sites,which offer new opportunities to improve the gas sensing *** addition,a variety of efforts have been made to functional TiO_(2) nanomaterials to further enhance sensing properties,including TiO_(2)-based composites and light-assisted gas *** enhanced gas sensing mechanisms of multi-component composite nano-materials based on TiO_(2) include loaded noble metals,doped elements,constructed heterojunctions,and com-pounded with other functional ***,several studies have been summarized to demonstate the compar ative sensing properties of TiO_(2)-based gas sensors.

Two-dimensional(2D)nanomaterials have been widely used in gas sensing due to their large specific surface area,high surface reactivity,and excellent gas adsorption *** paper reviews the typical synthesis methods of various types of 2D nanomaterials and summarizes the recent progress in gas sensors based on 2D materials,such as noble metal nanoparticles(NPs),metal oxides(MOS),conductive polymers,other new 2D *** methods of doping,modification,and photoexcitation can effectively improve the gas-sensing properties of 2D *** sensitive mechanisms of heterojunction,Schottky junction,and photoexcitation in 2D material sensors are discussed in *** paper discusses the application prospects of 2D materials in wearable gas sensors,food safety,and self-powered sensing,and provides ideas for further applications in environmental quality monitoring and disease *** addition,the opportunities and challenges for gas sensors based on 2D materials are also discussed.
