The increased coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)breakthrough cases pose the need of booster vaccination.We conducted a randomised,double-blinded,controlled,phase 2 trial to assess the immunogenicity and safety of the heterologous prime-boost vaccination with an inactivated COVID-19 vaccine(BBIBP-CorV)followed by a recombinant protein-based vaccine(NVSI-06-07),using homologous boost with BBIBP-CorV as control.Three groups of healthy adults(600 individuals per group)who had completed two-dose BBIBP-CorV vaccinations 1–3 months,4–6 months and≥6 months earlier,respectively,were randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to receive either NVSI-06-07 or BBIBP-CorV boost.Immunogenicity assays showed that in NVSI-06-07 groups,neutralizing antibody geometric mean titers(gmts)against the prototype SARS-CoV-2 increased by 21.01–63.85 folds on day 28 after vaccination,whereas only 4.20–16.78 folds of increases were observed in control groups.For Omicron variant,the neutralizing antibody gmt elicited by homologous boost was 37.91 on day 14,however,a significantly higher neutralizing gmt of 292.53 was induced by heterologous booster.Similar results were obtained for other SARS-CoV-2 variants of concerns(VOCs),including Alpha,Beta and Delta.Both heterologous and homologous boosters have a good safety profile.Local and systemic adverse reactions were absent,mild or moderate in most participants,and the overall safety was quite similar between two booster schemes.Our findings indicated that NVSI-06-07 is safe and immunogenic as a heterologous booster in BBIBP-CorV recipients and was immunogenically superior to the homologous booster against not only SARS-CoV-2 prototype strain but also VOCs,including Omicron.

(1983) have given some favourable environmental conditions and have shown that there are four common features in convective rainstorms. In this paper an important process of evolution of cloud systems was revealed when heavy rainfall occurred based on the diagnostic analysis of heavy rainfall cases. When the different cloud systems merge into a large one the mesoscale heavy rainfall occurs and enhances. In other words the process of evolution of cloud systems emphasized in this paper is the process of interaction between two cloud systems when the heavy rainfall occurs. The favourable environmental condition is also investigated.

Sun et al., (1983) have given some favourable environmental conditions and have shown that there are four common features in convective rainstorms. A six level regional primitive equation model has been formulated and tested for monsoon prediction. The model uses dynamic normal mode initialization scheme for obtaining initial balance. The physical processes included are: the large scale condensation, the Kuo type of cumulus convection, the surface friction, the sensible heat supply and evaporation over the sea. The actual smooth orography is included. The model has been integrated for 48 hrs using input of 7 July and 8 August 1979 when the domain of integration was dominated by an intense monsoon depression. In order to investigate the model simulation of formative stage of the depression, the model was also integrated using input of 4 July 1979.Furthermore, the envelope orography has been constructed and included in the model for investigating its effects on the monsoon prediction. Results of the model forecast are presented and discussed.

The heavy rainfall and severe conveetive weather forecast worksheets for the Changjiang Delta have been proposed and used in the daily forecasting. Results show that the ability of 0-12h convective weather prediction has been improved significantly after the development of the forecast methods and the establishment of a mesoscale forecast base at Shanghai Meteorological Center during 1986 to 1990.Three cases of convective weather systems (meso-alpha meso-beta meso-gamma) during the experiment period are described and discussed.

The real time operational severe convective weather forecast experiment carried out during May to July in 1990 over the Changjiang Delta is briefly described. The heavy rainfall and severe conveetive weather forecast worksheets for the Changjiang Delta have been proposed and used in the daily forecasting. Typhoon eye, one of the most outstanding features in the evolution of typhoon, has various complex configurations: circular, elliptic, oval, square, polygonal, or irregular shapes. It is very interesting to note that some typhoons show the concentric double-eyes encircled with two concentric cloud towers.The concentric double-eye structure and intensity of typhoons are investigated and discussed by using reconnaissance aircraft data, radar echo photos and satellite images. 76 double-eye typhoons were observed during 1949-1983. The results indicate that the concentric double-eye structure, generally appearing in intense typhoons over the northwestern Pacific Ocean, is closely related to typhoon’s intensity. This kind of structure has apparent characteristics in geographical and seasonal distributions.Based on the observational data, an idealized structure model for the concentric double-eye typhoons is proposed.

A tropical squall line that passed over the ship array of the Global Atmospheric Research Programme's Atlantic Tropical Experiment (GATE) on 9-10 August 1974 is analyzed. This squall line was similar to squall systems that passed over the GATE ship array on four other days. It began as a purely convective cloud line, then developed an associated stratiform cloud and precipitation area. The stratiform rain built up to a maximum amount over a period of 8 h, then gradually diminished over a 6 h period. This stratiform rain is estimated to have accounted for 32% of the squall system's total precipitation. As in other GATE squall lines, the upper-level cloud shield from which the stratiform rain fell, was advected slowly forward of the line during the system's lifetime, the leading line of convective clouds consisted of transient smaller-scale convective elements, which lent the line an irregular shape and pulsatory movement, and the stratiform portion of the system was characterized by the development of a

Based upon the analysis of several different causes for the low-level jet along the east side of the Rocky Mountains, the concept of "Interface Effect" is established. The basic mechanism for the formation of the low-level jet in North America has been found to be the compression and divergence, under the driving of ageostrophic winds, of the air columns between two surfaces-the ground and the bottom of inversion-which slope with different patterns in a cross-section normal to the jet stream. As a result, the air parcel is accelerated along the streamline and the anticyclonic shear of the current increased. Also, the diurnal variation of the jet is determined by the interface effect.
