This study explores the potential of assimilating data from multiple instruments onboard high-altitude,longendurance unmanned aircraft to improve hurricane analyses and forecasts.A recent study found a signifi cant positive impact on analyses and forecasts of Hurricane Karl when an ensemble Kalman fi lter was used to assimilate data from the High-altitude Imaging Wind and Rain Airborne Profi ler(HIWRAP),a new Doppler radar onboard the NASA Global Hawk(GH)unmanned airborne *** GH can also carry other useful instruments,including dropsondes and the Hurricane Imaging Radiometer(HIRAD),which is a new radiometer that estimates large swaths of wind speeds and rainfall at the ocean *** primary fi nding is that simultaneously assimilating data from HIWRAP and the other GH-compatible instruments results in further analysis and forecast improvement for *** greatest improvement comes when HIWRAP,HIRAD,and dropsonde data are simultaneously assimilated.

Based on the analysis of the concept of rural tourism, this essay summarized current status and achievements of Yangshuo tourism development in the past 30 years, and also comprehensively analyzed its advantages of location, resources, industry, market and infrastructure. In the interim, it pointed out problems of environment, administration, operation, information delay and distribution of interests. furthermore, it discussed the sustainable development strategy of Yangshuo rural tourism, emphasized the importance of environmental protection and eco-effects in further development, as well as sorting out the relationship among different governmental departments, perfecting tourism mechanism, improving the training system for practitioners, enhancing service quality, strengthening advertising, promotion, image of tourism brand and research on more diverse tourist projects.

further education in England is a diverse sector which typically provides education for the 16 - 19 age group. This study investigates efficiency levels by subject of study within further education (FE) colleges. Mean overall technical efficiency is found to vary from 75% to 86% in the worst- and best-performing subject areas, respectively. Statistical analysis of efficiency reveals that, while student and teacher composition and regional characteristics affect efficiency in each subject, the strength of these effects can vary by subject. This has the clear policy implication that strategies to improve efficiency in English FE must be devised and operated at subject rather than provider level.

further和farther在字典里的释义极其相似,但不同字典对他们的区别却说法不一,甚至相互矛盾。因此,利用语料库来探究这两词的差异,并对字典相关内容进行验证和补充具有其必要性。在分析并标注两词各自的频数、常用语域、词性、词义、类联接及语义韵后,将结果导入统计分析软件SPSS进行独立样本t检验,并使用Excel进一步计算,以考察两词在上述方面的具体区别。研究发现,further与farther在词频、语域、词性、词义及类联接方面均有显著差异,而在语义韵方面有细微区别。
