In this paper, the general features of the axial symmetrical force-free field with large magnetic Reynold number (R_m>>1) are discussed. By introducing the magnetic surface function, it is possible to derive a set of fundamental equations describing force-free field of frozen type from both the conditions of force-free field and magnetic induced equations. The configuration of a magnetic field is actually of a forzen force-free field only if all the three relations of the fundamental equations are satisfied. We present several consistent solutions. For the static cases, the force-free factor α of the field need not be a constant. On condition that α is a constant, these solutions are satisfied also as if the azimuthal velocity component was a function of the magnetic surface function. The consistent solutions of some steady three-dimensional motion and the similar solutions of the unsteady motion are obtained. This paper mainly studies the Japanese policy, especially the Positive List System and Health Quarantine System, on the Chinese agricultural products exports, taking the frozen vegetable for example. The authors carry out studies on the related polices, consider the non-policy factors, making comparative analysis among the three countries: China, the USA and Thailand, utilizing trade gravity model. Finally the authors present suggestions to the breaking of the trade barriers.

Recently we have been performing biological reconstruction for malignant bone tumors of the extremities using frozen autografts. Here we present a case treated with free vascularized fibular graft (FVFG) after this method. A 23-year-old man developed osteosarcoma in his left distal tibia. There was nonunion after frozen autograft reconstruction, which we treated with FVFG. Twenty-four months later, bridging between the host bone and the frozen autograft was achieved. Our department has achieved bone union in almost all cases, but we sometimes encounter cases of nonunion after this method because of delayed blood supply. In these instances, reconstruction using FVFG may represent an attractive choice for salvage treatment.

Hump-nosed viper bite is the commonest venomous snakebite in Sri Lanka. Acute kidney injury (AKI) in association with coagulopathy is an important cause of mortality. Immunomodulating effects of fresh frozen plasma (FFP) could block the nephrotoxic effects of venom;and by replenishing depleted clotting factors resulting from venom induced consumption coagulopathy could offer an additional benefit in offsetting renal injury triggered by haematological disturbances. In a non-randomised observational study carried out from 2005 to 2008 in adults at the National hospital of Sri Lanka, the mean time for resolution of coagulopathy among 42 patients treated with FFP at the inception of coagulopathy was 4.7 hours compared to 18 patients treated with isotonic Saline among whom the mean time for normalisation of coagulopathy was 6.2 hours. None of these 60 patients developed acute renal failure. A separate cohort of 32 patients with coagulopathy after hump-nosed viper bite who had not received FFP during this study period developed acute renal failure and required haemodialysis. In the absence of safe and effective antivenom for hump-nosed viper in Sri Lanka, FFP may be a therapeutic option. FFP if given early to selected patients at inception of coagulopathy may prevent AKI and serve to save lives after hump-nosed viper bites.

The aim of this study was to assess sperm quality (motility, viability and acrosomal integrity) sperm from commercially frozen semen straws two breeds of bulls Bos taurus (holstein Frisian) and Bos indicus (Brahman). 9 commercial straws 0.5 ml of Holstein bull semen and 9 Brahman bull were thawed, they were kept for two hours at room temperature and motility, viability and acrosomal integrity (NAR) was assessed. The results were 30% motility, viability 40% and 30% of NAR in the Holstein breed. Brahma race for motility 40%, 50% and 40% viability was obtained NAR. In conclusion, according to the results of the variables analyzed, the Brahman breed in sperm quality was better than the Holstein breed;however, the results of both races meet minimum standards of quality sperm for use in artificial insemination (AI) field level.

Purpose: To evaluate the accuracy and limits of a frozen section analysis in our department in order to develop a quality control. Materials and methods: all frozen sections reported at our department between 1st January 2010 and 31st December 2010, have been retrospectively evaluated. The frozen section results were compared to permanent paraffin section results. Results: frozen sections and final diagnosis agreed in 95% and disagreed in 5% (13 cases), 6.6% of the cases were deferred (17 cases). The most common pathological processes encountered were presence/typing of neoplasm (85.4%) and assessment of surgical margins (7.3%). Conclusion: The accuracy of frozen sections diagnosis at our department can be interpreted as comparable with the most international quality control series and is valuable to assist surgeons in their decision.

Transfusions of blood products are common in medical practice and can be lifesaving in certain situations. Potentially life threatening reactions could occur and physicians should be alerted. Here we describe a case of thrombocytopenia that was induced by transfusion of fresh frozen plasma (FFP). A 52 years old male presented to the emergency department after two episodes of hematochezia that resolved spontaneously. Since he was anticoagulated for atrial fibrillation he was given a unit of FFP to reverse a slightly elevated INR. Within 6 hours from the administration of the FFP he developed an acute decrease only in his platelet count. He was managed conservatively and his thrombocytopenia started resolving gradually. After excluding other causes the potential diagnosis was fresh frozen plasma induced thrombocytopenia. The pathophysiologic mechanism is postulated to be immune mediated by passive transfer of antibodyies from the donor to the recipient. The antibodies that are described in the literature are anti-HPA-1a and anti-CD-36. We reported the event to the American Red Cross. Interestingly a male was the donor of the plasma while in all cases in the literature the donors are females with a prior history of pregnancy. Therefore this is the first reported case of a male blood donor whose blood product caused immune mediated thrombocytopenia post transfusion.
