Quinoline derivatives have been widely used in the manufacture of dyes and the discovery of experimental drug candidates,and this scaffold has been found in numerous products with biological and pharmacological properties such as papaverine,camptothecine,XK469,R207910,Moxifloxacin and TMC 207.A variety of reactions *** reaction,Henry reaction and aldol reaction,Morita-Baylis Hillman reaction has been studied both‘in-water’and‘on-water’.However,the examples of catalyst free friedel-crafts reaction‘in-water’or‘on-water’are *** part of our continued interest in the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds and green chemistry,Along this line,we report a one pot condensation reaction of 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds,8-hydroxyquinoline and aromatic aldehydes under catalyst-free conditions via friedel–crafts reaction in water

Enantioselective synthesis of quaternary α-aminophosphonates by organocatalytic friedel–crafts reactions of indoles with cyclicα-ketiminophosphonates

An efficient asymmetric friedel-crafts reaction has been developed for the synthesis of optically active quaternaryα‐aminophosphonates with up to98%*** synthesis involves the reaction of cyclicα‐ketiminophosphonates with indoles using an H8‐BINOL‐derived chiral phosphoric acid(CPA)catalyst that bears electron‐withdrawing3,5‐ditrifluoromethylphenyl substituents on its3‐and3′‐*** friedel-crafts reaction of cyclicα‐ketiminophosphonates was also successful with pyrrole.

Acridine derivatives and analogues have been widely used in the medical industry, and its unique planar heteropolycyclic structure have made it a frequently-used core structural motif in fluorescent dyes, it complexed with iridium have also been used in applications of OLEDs. Hence,the chemistry community have high demand to develop synthetic methods of various acridine derivatives. Recently we developed a efficient copper-catalyzed synthesis of acridines by Suzuki reaction/friedel–crafts reaction of o-acylanilines with phenylboronic acids in the presence of inexpensive Cu(II) as catalyst. A variety of functionalized acridines can be accessed by using this domino method in moderate to good yields, polycyclic aza-aromatic compounds can also be prepared efficiently.
