fractionalization of a Class of Semi-Linear Differential Equations

The dynamics of a fractionalized semi-linear scalar differential equation is considered with a Caputo fractional derivative. By using a symbolic operational method, a fractional order initial value problem is converted into an equivalent Volterra integral equation of second kind. A brief discussion is included to show that the fractional order derivatives and integrals incorporate a fading memory (also known as long memory) and that the order of the fractional derivative can be considered to be an index of memory. A variation of constants formula is established for the fractionalized version and it is shown by using the Fourier integral theorem that this formula reduces to that of the integer order differential equation as the fractional order approaches an integer. The global existence of a unique solution and the global Mittag-Leffler stability of an equilibrium are established by exploiting the complete monotonicity of one and two parameter Mittag-Leffler functions. The method and the analysis employed in this article can be used for the study of more general systems of fractional order differential equations.

Some experimental schemes to identify quantum spin liquids

Despite the apparent ubiquity and variety of quantum spin liquids in theory,experimental confirmation of spin liquids remains to be a huge *** by the recent surge of evidences for spin liquids in a series of candidate materials,we highlight the experimental schemes,involving the thermal Hall transport and spectrum measurements,that can result in smoking-gun signatures of spin liquids beyond the usual *** clarity,we investigate the square lattice spin liquids and theoretically predict the possible phenomena that may emerge in the corresponding spin liquids *** mechanisms for these signatures can be traced back to either the intrinsic characters of spin liquids or the external field-driven *** conclusion does not depend on the geometry of lattices and can broadly apply to other relevant spin liquids.

The simplest spin-orbital model can host a nematic spin-orbital liquid state on the triangular *** provide clear evidence that the ground state of the SU(4)Kugel-Khomskii model on the triangular lattice can be well described by a‘‘single”Gutzwiller projected wave function with an emergent parton Fermi surface,despite it exhibits strong finite-size effect in quasi-one-dimensional *** finite-size effect can be resolved by the fact that the parton Fermi surface consists of open orbits in the reciprocal ***,a stripy liquid state is expected in the two-dimensional limit,which preserves the SU(4)symmetry while breaks the translational symmetry by doubling the unit cell along one of the lattice vector *** is indicative that these stripes are critical and the central charge is c=3,in agreement with the SU(4)1Wess-Zumino-Witten conformal field *** these results are consistent with the Lieb-Schultz-Mattis-Oshikawa-Hastings theorem.
