A Novel Regeneration Method of Cu(0)-deposited TiO_2 Photocatalytic Film:Air-assisted Electrochemical Oxidation

A rapid deactivation of TiO2 film was observed in the process of the photocatalytic degradation of formic acid in the presence of Cu(II) due to the deposition of Cu(0). A novel regeneration method, air-assisted electrooxidation, could efficiently retrieve the photocatalytic activity of the deact ivated film. HNO3 medium has a regeneration extent of 97.2% for first run, much higher than that of HCl and H2SO4 mediums.

An efficient synthesis of 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-one derivatives using formic acid as catalyst, from aldehydes, β-ketoester and urea(thiourea) without solvent under the irradiation of microwave is described. Compared with the classical Biginelli reaction, this new method has the advantage of good yields (77–94% for aromatic aldehydes) and short reaction time (3–8 min).

The electrocatalytic properties of platinum microparticles incorporated into poly-(vinylpyridine) (PVP) films, a conducting polymer with good conductivity and stability, were investigated for hydrogen evolution and formic acid electrooxidation in acidic media. It wasfound that the catalytic effects depend mainly on the size and amounts of the platinummicroparticles dispersed in the polymer layer.

formic acid (FA), which can be produced via CO_(2) reduction and biomass conversion, has received extensive interest as a convenient and safe hydrogen carrier due to its wide range of sources, renewable, high hydrogen content (4.4 wt%), and convenient storage/transportation. Designing highly efficient catalysts is the main challenge to realize the hydrogen production from FA. In this work, well-dispersed and electron-rich PdIr alloy nanoparticles with a size of 1.8 nm are confined in amino-modified 3D mesoporous silica KIT-6 and applied as a highly efficient catalyst for robust hydrogen production from FA at ambient temperature. Small PdIr alloy nanoparticles confined by amino-modified KIT-6 (PdIr/KIT-6-NH_(2)) lead to better catalytic activity compared to that of Pd/KIT-6-NH_(2) and PdIr confined by bare KIT-6, achieving a high turnover frequency (TOF) value of 3533 h-1 at ambient temperature (303 K), 100% H_(2) selectivity and conversion toward the dehydrogenation of FA, which is comparable to the best heterogeneous catalysts ever reported. The high catalytic activity of PdIr/KIT-6-NH_(2) can be attributed to the synergistic effect between Pd and Ir, strong interaction between PdIr and KIT-6-NH_(2), as well as the amino-groups of KIT-6-NH_(2) which can act as a proton scavenger to promote the breaking of O-H bond of formic acid.

A Pb loaded gas diffusion electrode was fabricated and used for the electroreduction of CO2 to formic acid. The Pb/C catalyst was prepared by isometric impregnation. The crystal structure and morphology of the Pb/C catalyst were characterized by X-ray diffraction （XRD） and transmission electron microscope （TEM）. The preparation conditions of the gas diffusion electrode were optimized by adjusting the amounts of polytetrafluoroethylene （PTFE） in the gas diffusion layer and acetylene black in the catalytic layer. The electrochemical performance of the as-prepared gas diffusion electrode was studied by chronoamperometry and cyclic voltammetry. The optimized gas diffusion electrode showed good catalytic performance for the electroreduction of CO2. The current efficiency of formic acid after 1 h of operation reached a maximum of 22% at -2.0 V versus saturated calomel electrode （SCE）.

The compositions of two kinds of ants (formica cunicu Laria and Polyrhachis vicina Roger) were determined with modern apparatuses. The result was that content of crude protein, fat, vitamin E, formic acid were 43.95%, 22.90%, 15.61 mg / Kg, 4.2% respectively forformica cunicu Laria, and 42.56%, 21 .90%, 131 .2 mg / Kg, 3.8% respectively for Polyrhachlk vicina Roger.

Hydrogen economy,which proposes employing hydrogen to replace or supplement the current fossil-fuel-based energy economy system,is widely accepted as the future energy scheme for the sustainable and green development of human *** the hydrogen economy has shown tremendous potential,the associated challenges with hydrogen production and storage remain significant barriers to wide *** light of this consideration,the integration of green hydrogen production and storage through electrocatalysis for direct production of chemical hydrogen storage media has emerged as a potential solution to these ***,through electrocatalysis,CO_(2) and H_(2)O can be converted into methanol or formic acid,while N_(2) or NOx along with H_(2)O can be transformed into ammonia,streamlining the hydrogen economy *** this Perspective,we provide an overview of recent developments in this ***,we briefly discuss the general properties and corresponding production strategies via the electrolysis of these chemical hydrogen storage ***,we conclude by offering insights into future perspectives in this field,anticipating that the successful advancement of such technology will propel the development of the hydrogen economy toward practical implementation.

Liquid chemical hydrides, which store hydrogen in the form of chemical bonds, are considered one of the most promising classes of hydrogen storage materials. Their application depends heavily on the development of efficient catalytic systems. Gold‐containing metal nanoparticles have exhibited excellent catalytic performance for hydrogen generation from liquid chemical hydrides. The present mini‐review focuses on recent developments in hydrogen generation from liquid chemical hydrides using gold‐nanoparticle and gold‐containing heterometallic nanoparticle catalysts.

We reported solvent-free and recoverable heterogeneous iron functionalised imidazolium-based ionic liquid for the reduction of nitroarene derivatives in the presence of formic acid under greener ***,the experimental result shows that the iron complex could be an extremely resourceful,high rate and reusable catalyst for a different nitroarene substrate.
