Once pulp necrosis or apical periodontitis occurs on immature teeth,the weak root and open root apex are challenging to ***(BBR)is a potential medicine for bone disorders,therefore,we proposed to apply BBR in root canals to enhance root repair in immature *** in vivo model of immature teeth with apical periodontitis was established in rats,and root canals were filled with BBR,calcium hydroxide or sterilized saline for 3 *** shape of the roots was analyzed by micro-computed tomography and histological *** vitro,BBR was introduced into stem cells from apical papilla(SCAPs).Osteogenic differentiation of stem cells from apical papilla was investigated by alkaline phosphatase activity,mineralization ability,and gene expression of osteogenic *** signaling pathway,which regulated the osteogenesis of SCAPs was evaluated by quantitative real time PCR,Western blot analysis,and *** rats treated with BBR,more tissue was formed,with longer roots,thicker root walls,and smaller apex *** addition,we found that BBR promoted SCAPs osteogenesis in a time-dependent and concentration-dependent *** induced the expression ofβ-catenin and enhancedβ-catenin entering into the nucleus,to up-regulate more runt-related nuclear factor 2 *** enhanced root repair in immature teeth with apical periodontitis by activating the canonical Wnt/β-catenin pathway in SCAPs.

With the recent commissioning of a gas-filled recoil separator at Institute of Modern Physics (IMP) in Lanzhou,the decay properties of 271Ds (Z =110) were studied via the 20sPb(64Ni,n) reaction at a beam energy of 313.3 *** on the separator coupled with a position sensitive silicon strip detector,we carried out the energy-position-time correlation measurements for the implanted nucleus and its subsequent decay α'*** α-decay chain for 271Ds was *** α energy and decay time of the 27iDs nucleus were measured to be 10.644 MeV and 96.8ms,which are consistent with the values reported in the literature.

First Principle Study of the Electronic Properties of 3C-SiC Doped with Different Amounts of Ni

The electronic properties of 3C-SiC doped with different contents of Ni are investigated by using first-principles *** is observed that the non-filled impurity energy levels in the band-gap region increase with increasing Ni content,which subsequently results in an enhancement of electrical conductivity of *** enhancement in conductivity is verified by the conductivity spectrum in which new peaks appear in the middleinfrared region,visible region,and middle-ultraviolet *** is further observed that the width and intensity of these newly appeared peaks increase with the increase of Ni *** electronic density of states exhibits the peaks crossing the Fermi level,which favors the electronic transitions and proves Ni-doped 3C-SiC to be a half-metallic *** the analysis of electron density difference and Mulliken overlap population,it is found that the covalent bonds are formed between Ni and near-by C *** features confirm that the Ni-doped 3C-SiC semiconductor is a promising material for device applications in modern day electronics.

Phase-Gradient Metasurfaces Based on Local Fabry–Perot Resonances

In this work,we present a new mechanism for designing phase-gradient metasurfaces(PGMs)to control an electromagnetic wavefront with high ***,we design a transmission-type PGM,formed by a periodic subwavelength metallic slit array filled with identical dielectrics of different *** is found that when Fabry-Perot(FP)resonances occur locally inside the dielectric regions,in addition to the common phenomenon of complete transmission,the transmitted phase differences between two adjacent slits are exactly the same,being a nonzero *** local FP resonances ensure total phase shift across a supercell,fully covering a range of 0 to 2π,satisfying the design requirements of *** research reveals that,due to local FP resonances,there is a one-to-one correspondence between the phase difference and the permittivity of the filled dielectric.A similar approach can be extended to the reflection-type case and other wavefront transformations,creating new opportunities for wave manipulation.

A global optimization algorithm based on multi-loop neural network control

This paper proposes an optimization algorithm based on a multi-loop control system with a neural network controller,in which the objective function that is used is the control plant of each sub-control *** obtain the global optimization solution from a control plant that has many local minimum points,a transformation function is *** the one hand,this approach changes a complex objective function into a simple function under the condition of an unchanged globally optimal solution,to find the global optimization solution more easily by using a multi-loop control *** the other hand,a special neural network(in which the node function can be simply positioned locally)that is composed of multiple transformation functions is used as the controller,which reduces the possibility of falling into local minimum *** the same time,a filled function is presented as a control law;it can jump out of a local minimum point and move to another local minimum point that has a smaller value of the objective ***,18 simulation examples are provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

The analysis of the bending stiffness and intensity of cylindrical tubes

Based on the mechanics of material,the bending stiffness and intensity of cylin-drical bar and tube are analyzed. By comparing the cylindrical tube whose ratio of outside diameter to internal diameter is 0.7 with the cylindrical bar,it is concluded that when both of them have the same mass,the section stiffness of the cylindrical tube is three times that of the cylindrical bar;when both of them have the same external diameter,the mass of the cylindrical tube is only 1/2 that of the cylindrical bar,but the section stiffness of the cylindrical tube is 3/4 that of the cylindrical bar. By virtue of the elemental elastic-plastic theory,the yield stress of the liquid-filled cylindrical tube is investigated. Due to the incompressibility of liquid and the strain hardening effect of material,the yield stress of the liquid-filled tube is enlarged compared with the hollow tube,thus raising its bending intensity. Under the dy-namic load,compared with the hollow tube,the impact resistance of the liquid-filled tube is also raised due to elastic recovery. Because the hydraulic pressures per-pendicular to the inner surface are identical everywhere,the local stress concen-tration resulting from the ovalisation of the tube would be decreased,and the re-sistance to buckling would be improved.

A mass-customizable dermal patch with discrete colorimetric indicators for personalized sweat rate quantification

In this paper,we present a disposable,colorimetric,user-friendly and mass-customizable dermal patch for chronological collection and discrete real-time in situ measurement of sweat secretion over a small area of *** patch consists of a laminated filter paper patterned into radially arranged channels/fingers with water-activated dyes at their *** channels are filled during perspiration,their tips change color once fully saturated,providing easily identifiable levels of water loss which in turn can be mapped to personal dehydration *** patch can be manufactured at low cost in a variety of sizes to allow hydration monitoring for individuals participating in activities under different conditions(intensity,temperature,humidity,etc.).Furthermore,we describe an analytical model that enables mass customization of such a flexible wearable system accommodating a broad range of sweat rates and volumes to generate patch designs that are personalized to an individual’s sweat rate,desired time of usage,and the temporal resolution of the required *** a proof-of-concept demonstration,we characterized laser-fabricated patches that cover(7 cm×5 cm)area of skin having various wicking materials,thicknesses(180–540μm),and pore sizes(3–11μm).Tests were conducted at various flow rates simulating different sweating intensities in the range of 1.5–15 mg/cm^(2)/*** results for the case of a half-marathon runner targeting 90 min of usage and sweating at a rate of 1.5 mg/cm2/min indicated measurement accuracy of 98.3%when the patch is completely filled.

Combinatorial nanodot stripe assay to systematically study cell haptotaxis

Haptotaxis is critical to cell guidance and development and has been studied in vitro using either gradients or stripe assays that present a binary choice between full and zero coverage of a protein ***,stripes offer only a choice between extremes,while for gradients,cell receptor saturation,migration history,and directional persistence confound the interpretation of cellular ***,we introduce nanodot stripe assays(NSAs)formed by adjacent stripes of nanodot arrays with different surface ***-one pairwise combinations were designed using 0,1,3,10,30,44 and 100%stripes and were patterned with 200×200,400×400 or 800×800 nm 2 *** studied the migration choices of C2C12 myoblasts that express neogenin on NSAs(and three-step gradients)of *** reference surface between the nanodots was backfilled with a mixture of polyethylene glycol and poly-D-lysine to minimize nonspecific cell ***,cell response was independent of nanodot *** to a 0%stripe,cells increasingly chose the high-density stripe with up to~90%of cells on stripes with 10%coverage and *** preference for higher *** netrin-1 coverage was observed only for coverage ratios>2.3,with cell preference plateauing at~80%for ratios≥*** combinatorial NSA enables quantitative studies of cell haptotaxis over the full range of surface coverages and ratios and provides a means to elucidate haptotactic mechanisms.
