Social experience has a far-reaching impact on the brain and behavior.In humans,lacking social experience during childhood is associated with a faster decline in later-life cognitive function[l],while social isolation in the elderly is an independent risk factor for dementia[2].The lack of social experience at different stages of life has significant adverse effects on cognitive development and mental health.Studies have largely been focused on the neuronal activity and synaptic plasticity changes after social deprivation.Two recent studies separately reported increased expression of an astrocyte marker,glial fibrillary acidic protein,in socially isolated perinatal or adult mice demonstrating structural changes in astrocytes after social deprivation[3,4].However,it is still unknown whether and how astrocyte function is impacted by social deprivation.

Laparoscopy within the urology field has undergone a noteworthy surge in popularity over the past decade,with particular importance given to renal surgeries such as simple nephrectomy,radical nephrectomy,donor nephrectomy,nephroureterectomy,and partial nephrectomy.1 This shift toward laparoscopic procedures among urologists can be attributed to the many benefits of these procedures,including reduced postoperative pain,shorter hospital stays,and faster recovery times.2 However,as with any evolving surgical technique,laparoscopic procedures in renal surgery bring forth their own set of distinctive challenges and complications.

Hepatitis C virus(HCV)infection is a major cause of liver disease and hepatocellular carcinoma worldwide(1).HCV is a blood-borne infection and prevalence is particularly high in patients with a history of injective drug use or unsafe health care or sexual practices.Substance use disorder(SUD),and especially opioid misuse is a growing problem worldwide(2).This is particularly relevant in the United States(US)where opioid misuse has raised sharply in the last years(3,4),termed also opioid epidemic.SUD is associated with an increase incidence of HCV infections and reinfections and associated liver disease(2,4).Moreover,alcohol use disorder is frequent in patients with SUD(5),representing another major risk factor for chronic liver disease in this population.Patients with SUD often experience poor access to health care resulting in higher mortality(5,6).Finally,SUD is associated with psychiatric conditions and social problems such as housing instability,unemployment,and reduced access to medical care(7)which could result in a reduced access and compliance to HCV treatment.

Early-stage plant density is an essential trait that determines the fate of a genotype under given environmental conditions and management practices.The use of RGB images taken from UAVs may replace the traditional visual counting in fields with improved throughput,accuracy,and access to plant localization.However,high-resolution images are required to detect the small plants present at the early stages.This study explores the impact of image ground sampling distance(GSD)on the performances of maize plant detection at three-to-five leaves stage using faster-RCNN object detection algorithm.Data collected at high resolution(GSD≈0:3 cm)over six contrasted sites were used for model training.Two additional sites with images acquired both at high and low(GSD≈0:6 cm)resolutions were used to evaluate the model performances.Results show that faster-RCNN achieved very good plant detection and counting(rRMSE=0:08)performances when native high-resolution images are used both for training and validation.Similarly,good performances were observed(rRMSE=0:11)when the model is trained over synthetic low-resolution images obtained by downsampling the native training high-resolution images and applied to the synthetic low-resolution validation images.Conversely,poor performances are obtained when the model is trained on a given spatial resolution and applied to another spatial resolution.Training on a mix of high-and low-resolution images allows to get very good performances on the native high-resolution(rRMSE=0:06)and synthetic low-resolution(rRMSE=0:10)images.However,very low performances are still observed over the native low-resolution images(rRMSE=0:48),mainly due to the poor quality of the native low-resolution images.Finally,an advanced super resolution method based on GAN(generative adversarial network)that introduces additional textural information derived from the native high-resolution images was applied to the native low-resolution validation images.Results show some significant improvement(rRMSE=0:22)compared to bicubi
