This article describes a case we experienced in which good postsurgical facial profiles were obtained for a patient with jaw deformities associated with facial asymmetry,by implementing surgical planning with SimPlant *** this method,we conducted LF1 osteotomy,intraoral vertical ramus osteotomy（IVRO）,sagittal split ramus osteotomy（SSRO）,mandibular constriction and mandibular border *** only did we obtain a class I occlusal relationship,but the complicated surgery also improved the asymmetry of the frontal view,as well as of the profile view,of the *** virtual operation using three-dimensional computed tomography（3D-CT）could be especially useful for the treatment of patients with jaw deformities associated with facial asymmetry.

BACKGROUND Correcting severe skeletal class III malocclusion with facial asymmetry in adults through orthodontic treatment alone is *** SUMMARY In this case report,we describe orthodontic treatment and lower incisor extraction without orthognathic surgery for a 27-year-old man with a transverse *** extraction sites were closed using an elastic *** use of intermaxillary elastics,improved super-elastic Ti-Ni alloy wire,and unilateral multibend edgewise arch wire was crucial for correcting facial asymmetry and the midline *** After treatment,the patient had a more symmetrical facial appearance,acceptable overjet and overbite,and midline *** treatment results remained stable 3 years after *** case report demonstrates that a minimally invasive treatment can successfully correct severe skeletal class III malocclusion with facial asymmetry.

Fat redistribution through recycling of previously grafted fat hasn’t been reported. Two facial asymmetry patients are presented with history of fat grafting to the mandibular angle areas. Collected fat from these formerly fat grafted zones and swollen on subsequent extra body weight gain has been re-grafted in the temporal regions for contour enhancement and has retained volume as photographically documented up to 30 months.

PURPOSE:To analyze the relationship between unilateral Temporomandibular joint(TMJ)disc displacement(DD)and facial asymmetry(FA)and mandibular deviation(MD),and correlation of progress of TMJ DD and change of *** follow up of non-treatment DD patients and ones had disc reposition treatment,to deduce the cause-effect relationship of DD and FA,and explain the necessity of disc replacement. METHODS:94 patients of unilateral TMJ DD at 10 to 20 years of age were *** DD was examined by Magnetic resonance image and the deviation of jaws and dental arches was examined by *** correlation test was used to calculate the correlation coefficient and test its statistical significance.21 patients of non-treatment group and 15 of repositioning group were followed up with MRI and X-ray examination,and data of TMJ,jaws and dental arches before and after follow up was compared using paired-T test. RESULTS:Of all 94 juvenile unilateral TMJ DD cases,58(61.70%)were diagnosed Mandibular *** deviated to the DD side and gonion and ramus length on both side displayed significant asymmetry of mandible(p<0.05). Middle line of upper and lower arch deviated to the DD ***-alveolar process was detected asymmetric in the right TMJ DD group(p<0.05).As a whole, both upper and lower jaw showed a rotation to the DD *** DD progresses,FA displayed a tendency to *** of lower dental arch,menton and gonion increased significantly(p<0.05)in non-treatment group with a decrease of disc length, while the deviation of mamdible decreased significantly(p<0.05)with the disc-condyle relationship remained normal in the surgically treated group after more than half a year. CONCLUSION:Announced correlation of unilateral TMJ DD and FA was found. As the distance of disc displacement,disc deformity and resorption of condyle increase,jaw deflection tended to be *** displacement with no treatment led to a increase of jaw deviation as disc displace

Objectives:To investigate esthetic evaluation of orthodontic patients,dentists and laypeople through self-designed electronic questionnaire from three dimensions, including ideal value,detectable value and tolerable value. Methods:A smiling frontal photograph of a young adult female was modified to produce an digital image of a smiling face with symmetry and averageness which was manipulated to produce a series of model images with maxillary dental midline angulated to the right or left in 2°increments(from 0°to 20°).The electronic questionnaire software was written by C# *** evaluators(222 orthodontic patients,97 dentists and 116 non-dental undergraduate students)were shown the 21 model images sequentially in the questionnaire and asked to evaluate the axial maxillary dental midline angulations esthetically form three dimensions (ideal value,detectable value and tolerable value)through a portable desktop viewing *** basic information of each evaluator was collected as well. Results:①The ideal value converged to 0°and showed no difference withμ=0;②The mean detectable value and tolerable value of orthodontic patients were 4.9°and 9.7°;③The influential factors were education level and orthodontic treatment state for detectable value,as well as education level and gender for tolerable value;④Angulations of 10°were intolerable by 65.8%of orthodontic patients,87.6%of dentists and 63.4%of *** value and tolerable value of dentists were significant lower than those of orthodontic patients and laypeople(P<0.05). Conclusion:①The results of three dimensions revealed great clinical application value to dental practitioners;②Gender,Education level and orthodontic treatment state were considered to be the influential factors on the esthetic evaluation of axial maxillary dental midline angulations by orthodontic patients;③Dentists were more sensitive and less tolerable than any other group of evaluators.
