The ostracodes were collected from the taiyuan formation of xingyang, Gongxian area ,Henan. They comprise 35 species in 24 genera, of which 13 species in 7 genera are reported for the first time from China and 8 species in 2 genera are identified as planktonic elements. The discovery of planktonic ostracodes from the taiyuan formation is important for the reconstruction of palaeogeography and sedimentary history in this area during the
