Obtaining rapid access in emergency situations for infusion of IV fluids, blood and blood products or medications is vital in using various methods. These include venopuncture, intraosseous infusion, percutanous central venous access and peripheral venous cut-down. We report a case of a 30-year-old woman who developed severe obstetric hemorrhage and had peripheral venous cut-down that was complicated by bilateral femoral osteomyelitis. This is a rare occurrence and this case report shows the need for strict adherence to safety precautions to prevent complications such as that from the procedure.

Objective:To explore the operative nursing coordination method for the treatment of congenital atrial septal defect(ASD)by transcatheter closure of atrial septal defect via femoral *** provides useful experience for the treatment of congenital heart *** a total of 12 patients undergoing minimally invasive atrial septal defect closure via femoral vein from January 2017 to November 2017 in our department of cardiac surgery were selected as the *** patients received transesophageal ultrasound guided ASD occlusion by femoral *** operation and nursing contents include preoperative care,the cooperation of the itinerant nurses,the coordination of the instrument nurses and the postoperative *** the operation of 12 patients in this group was *** diameter of the occluder was 17.1+4.5 mm during the *** time of tracheal intubation was 2.4+0.7 h,from the femoral vein to the sheath tube time was 38.7+9.4 min,the occupancy of ICU was 12.5+2.6 h after the *** average time of hospitalization was 4.5+1.8 *** were 2 cases of shunt 1mm immediately after *** 24h reexamination,the shunt disappeared,the heart murmur disappeared in the rest of the *** residual shunt and other complications occurred.

A total of 32 cases of aseptic femoral head necrosis were treated with long needle combined with herbal medicines. Huantiao (GB 30), Weizhong (BL 40), Chengshan (BL 57), etc. were punctured with 3 cun, 7 cun, and 2.5 chi, long thick needles. Herbal medicines used were Danggui (当归 Radix Angelicae Sinensis), Huangqi (黄芪 Radix Astragali seu Hedysari), Gouji (狗脊 Rhizoma Cibotii), etc.. Following 2 months to 3 years’ treatment, of the 32 cases, 16 were cured, 10 had remarkable improvement, 5 experienced improvement in the symptoms and signs and one failed in the treatment.

Objective: To analyze the features of coverage of femoral head at weight-bearing interface of the hip joints in children. Material and Methods: MRI scans of the hips were performed in 95 normal children aged from 1 to 8 years. Radial scans of the hip joints were performed using FFE sequence. Review the morphological features of weight-bearing interface of the acetabulum and the femoral head. Total covering angle (TCA), acetabular covering angle (ACA) and labral covering angle (LCA) were measured, inter-group comparison and correlation analysis were done. Result: The acetabulum and the femoral head had congruent articulating surface at each weight-bearing position. There was no statistical TCA difference at each position. Average ACA increased, while average LCA decreased from anterior to posterior. TCA correlated with LCA, ACA negatively correlated with LCA. Conclusion: TCA is a good index in indicating stability of the hip joint. Cartilage ossifies slower at posterior than anterior positions. Cartilage acetabulum and the labrum serve as complementary structures that contribute in total stabilizing of the hip joint in development.

Anterior knee pain is a common symptom in general orthopedic practice and is reported in 8% of women and 2% of men over the age of 55 years. The treatment of isolated patellofemoral arthritis is controversial. Many patients can be effectively managed conservatively. Analysis was done on 14 patients (17 knees) with symptomatic isolated patellofemoral osteoarthritis between 2001 and 2007. 3 patients had additional procedures like tibial tubercle osteotomy and lateral release, tibial tubercle osteotomy with medical plication and iliotibial band lengthening and lateral retinacular release. The operation should be viewed as a soft-tissue procedure involving resurfacing of the femoral trochlea and the articular surface of the patella. Proper balance of the extensor mechanism must be done at the time of surgery to ensure correct tracking of the patella which in turn results in the best outcome for the replacement.

The authors reply:We deeply appreciated your interest in our *** our study,the conclusion that femoral head necrosis induced by large doses of steroid pulse therapy in SARS patients was partially reversible was based on the results of the volume of femoral head necrosis on MRI combined with the ARCO *** volume of osteonecrosis decreased significantly from 2003(38.83%±21.01%)to 2005(30.38%±20.23%)(P=0.0002),then declined slowly from 2005 to 2013(28.99%±20.59%)and plateaued in 2018(25.52%±15.51%).The ARCO stages of 17 limbs in ten patients stabilized or improved during follow-up,while the stages of six limbs in four patients reflected deterioration.

Objective To investigate the effect of femoral design on anterior knee pain after patella reserving total knee arthroplasty. Methods From 15 January to 15 February 2002,44 patients and 59 knees were followed up. Among these patients, 40 patients and 51 knees included in this study, the rest cases were excluded for one or more of following factors. 1) Knee flexion was less than 80 degrees; 2) Radiography showed that there were surgical errors such as: femoral component flexion more than 30,anterior femoral cortex notching,and patellar bja or alta. According to current generally accepted criteria, femoral components were classified as "Patella Friendly" group and "Patella Unfriendly "group. The percentage and severity of anterior knee pain was measured with patient visual pain index and Knee Society Functional Score System.
