In recent years,the national higher education reform has proposed the concept of curriculum ideological and political education as a major element.This integration into the standardized training of general practice residents(commonly referred to as general resident training)is an unavoidable trend in the teaching field.Based on the actual situation of our unit at The First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Medical University,this paper emphasizes the necessity of incorporating ideological and political education into the general resident training curriculum,despite the absence of pertinent practical experience in how to effectively incorporate such courses into comprehensive residential training.In our hospital,we must assess the ideological and political education in the curriculum of general resident training,proposing a scientific,reasonable ideological and political education concept system for general practice courses,integrating ideological and political education with general practice resident training,and strengthening the team of ideological and political education physicians to teach them to carry out such education,this would foster enthusiasm and initiative.Strengthening admission education and training for general practice resident training,as well as regularly hosting symposiums to share ideas and understand the mission of doctors can provide effective experience for ideological and political education in general resident training courses.

Risk factors and outcomes for patients with pancreatic cancer undergoing surgical exploration without resection due to metastatic disease:A national cohort study

Background:Unresectable disease is sometimes diagnosed during surgery in patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC).This study aimed to identify preoperative risk factors for metastatic disease diagnosed at surgical exploration and to investigate and compare survival in resected and nonresected patients.Methods:Patients were identified from the Swedish National Pancreatic and Periampullary Cancer Registry 2010-2018.Predictors of metastatic disease were evaluated with a multivariable logistic regression model,and survival was evaluated with Kaplan-Meier estimates and log-rank tests.Results:In total,1938 patients with PDAC were scheduled for surgery.An unresectable situation was diagnosed intraoperatively in 399 patients(20.6%),including 234(12.1%)with metastasized disease.Independent risk factors for metastasis were involuntary weight loss(OR=1.72;95%CI:1.27-2.33)and elevated carbohydrate antigen 19-9(CA19-9)(35-599 U/m L,OR=1.79,95%CI:1.11-2.89;≥600 U/m L,OR=3.24,95%CI:2.04-5.17).Overall survival was lower among patients with metastasized disease than that among patients with a resectable tumor(Pexploration.

Acute scrotal pain(AsP)requiring surgical exploration is common in the pediatric population,but little has been reported on this subject with regard to the adult population.The aim of this study was to investigate the demographic and clinical characteristics and outcomes of scrotal explorations performed on adult patients.Patients over 21 years of age who underwent surgical exploration for ASP with suspected testicular torsion(TT)at 14 French hospitals between January 2005 and December 2019 were included in this study.The main outcome measures were demographic characteristics,pathology found during scrotal exploration,and perioperative outcomes.Logistic regression was used to perform univariate and multivariate analyses to identify predictors of TT.Data for 1329 men were analyzed.The median age was 30(interquartile range[IQR]:25-35;range:21-89)years.Regarding the clinical examination,867(65.2%)patients presented with an elevation of the testicle,613(46.1%)patients with scrotal edema or erythema,and 211(15.9%)patients with nausea or vomiting.Operative findings identified TT in only 684(51.5%)patients,epididymo-orchitis in 112(8.4%)patients,a tumor in 16(1.2%)patients,and no causes in 475(35.7%)patients.Orchiectomy for nonviable testes was required in 101(7.6%)patients.In multivariate analysis,an elevation of the testicle,erythema/swelling,and the presence of nausea/vomiting were found to be associated with the occurrence of TT.Testicular torsion is not exclusive to children and adolescents,so must be considered in males of any age with acute scrotal findings.However,one-third of scrotal explorations in adults did not lead to a diagnosis.

This research presents a novel nature-inspired metaheuristic algorithm called Frilled Lizard Optimization(FLO),which emulates the unique hunting behavior of frilled lizards in their natural habitat.FLO draws its inspiration from the sit-and-wait hunting strategy of these lizards.The algorithm’s core principles are meticulously detailed and mathematically structured into two distinct phases:(i)an exploration phase,which mimics the lizard’s sudden attack on its prey,and(ii)an exploitation phase,which simulates the lizard’s retreat to the treetops after feeding.To assess FLO’s efficacy in addressing optimization problems,its performance is rigorously tested on fifty-two standard benchmark functions.These functions include unimodal,high-dimensional multimodal,and fixed-dimensional multimodal functions,as well as the challenging CEC 2017 test suite.FLO’s performance is benchmarked against twelve established metaheuristic algorithms,providing a comprehensive comparative analysis.The simulation results demonstrate that FLO excels in both exploration and exploitation,effectively balancing these two critical aspects throughout the search process.This balanced approach enables FLO to outperform several competing algorithms in numerous test cases.Additionally,FLO is applied to twenty-two constrained optimization problems from the CEC 2011 test suite and four complex engineering design problems,further validating its robustness and versatility in solving real-world optimization challenges.Overall,the study highlights FLO’s superior performance and its potential as a powerful tool for tackling a wide range of optimization problems.

Innuendoes of Sterilisation Drilling in Surface Mining Operations—A Case Study

Surface mining operations play a crucial role in meeting the world’s increasing demand for mineral resources for the advancement of technology and debauched expansion of economies. The search for and exploitation of these mineral resources are therefore important for the sustainability of the mineral extraction industry. To this end, efficient mine planning must incorporate sterilisation drilling and effective waste rock management principles in the search and exploitation of these minerals. In this article, sterilisation drilling is being reviewed vis-a-vis the establishment of waste and tailings dump locations, backfilling of open pit excavations and mine closure giving critical attention to the minerals and mining laws of Ghana. Subsequently, a detailed case study of a surface mining operation that successfully incorporated sterilisation drilling in determining waste dump location in its mine planning process has been presented in this study. The findings indicate that the proposed waste dump location could present a potential mining prospect in the future based on enhanced milling capacity/technology and improved mineral commodity price;underscoring the significance of sterilization drilling in the sustainability of the mining industry.

The CPC’s Century-Long exploration of a Socialist Ownership System

Throughout its century-long history,the Communist Party of China(CPC)has been striving to explore and implement an ownership system of the means of production.Upon its founding in 1921,the Party envisioned to create a sole ownership system after the victory of the National Revolution.In war times,land issues dominated the agenda of the Party’s work on the ownership structure since most of its bases and liberated areas were in the countryside.After the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949,China established a basic socialist economic system through“one industrialization and three transformations,”i.***.socialist industrialization and the transformations of agriculture,artisanal production,and capitalist industry and commerce.This nascent socialist economic system was characterized by the sole public ownership of the means of production and a highly centralized planned economy.Since the reform and opening up in 1978,the Party took bold steps to explore and reform the socialist ownership system under the principle to keep public ownership as the mainstay and allow diverse forms of ownership to develop side by side.In the new era,the Party has redefined China’s basic socialist economic system by creating a mixed ownership structure at two levels with public ownership as the mainstay.China’s increasing economic vitality and dynamism have witnessed the exploration and growth of this mixed ownership system.

exploration and Sources of Bauxite Deposit in the Boloven Plateau, Southern Laos

The Boloven bauxite deposit occurs either in the weathered basalt(alkali basalt and tholeiite), or in the Cretaceous sandstone. It is generally agreed that the bauxite deposits/laterites overlying the alkali basalt and tholeiite were derived from weathering of underlying basalt, however, the origin of bauxite deposit overlying the sandstone remains controversial. Chondrite-normalized REE patterns show that the bauxite ores/laterites overlying the sandstone exhibit quite similar chondrite-normalized REE patterns to those overlying the alkali basalt. Diagram of Al-Ti-Zr shows that the bauxite ores/laterites overlying the sandstone, tholeiite and alkali basalt are close to each other and to the calc-alkaline suite, however, significantly different from the sandstone and shales. Binary diagram of log Nb/Y vs log Zr/Ti further indicates that the parent rocks of bauxite ores/laterites overlying the sandstone belong to the suit of ultra-alkali to alkali basalt. Multivariate statistical analysis of geochemical data exhibit that the geochemical characteristics of HREE, Y, LREE and Al_2O_3 for bauxite ores/laterites overlying the sandstone are similar to those overlying the alkali basalt(15.7 Ma), obviously different from those overlying the tholeiite(1.2 to 0.5 Ma). Consequently, it can be inferred that the bauxite deposits/laterites overlying the sandstone were derived from the alkali basalt.
