The Dempster-Shafer(D-S) evidence theory is an essential algorithm for fusing multi-sensor *** is particularly important in effectively assessing conflicts,especially in circumstances with highly conflicting *** approaches for measuring evidence conflict typically consider symmetry but ignore the disparity in the mutual conflict between pieces of *** work introduces a novel approach for measuring directional conflict,known as the directional belief earth mover's distance(DBEMD).The approach is based on the earth mover's distance,which measures the difference between propositions by introducing the directional conflict *** results from the experiment indicate that the proposed method precisely measures the evidence conflict and assesses directional conflict efficiently.

Combination method of conflict evidences based on evidence similarity

Aiming at the problem that the traditional Dempster Shafer (D-S) evidence theory cannot deal with conflicted evidences effectively and correctly, this paper points out that the key issue of this problem is to measure the degree of conflict between evidences correctly after analyzing various improved methods. The existing evidence conflict measure methods are analyzed, and a new evidence conflict measure method called evidence similarity measure based on the Tanimoto measure is proposed, while a new evidence combination method is proposed on the basis of evidence similarity measure. Firstly, the conflict degrees between evidences are obtained through the evidence similarity measure. Then the evidence sources are modified based on the credibility of different evidences and the weights of conflicted parts of evidences on different focal elements are determined. Finally, the fusion result is obtained by this method. Numerical examples show that the proposed method can effectively fuse evidences when evidences are consistent or highly conflicted, and it has a fast convergence speed, a high degree of accuracy and good adaptability.

Combination Rule Based on Proportional Redistribution of Generalized conflict for evidence Theory

Dempster’s rule is a powerful tool for combining multiple distinct pieces of evidence in evidence theory. When conflict between pieces of evidence is high,the combination result of Dempster’s rule is counterintuitive. Many alternative combination rules have been proposed. Most of these alternative combination rules are based on the redistribution of Shafer’s conflicting mass. The quantitative definition of generalized conflict is given. Based on Proportional generalized conflict redistribution(PGCR), a new class of evidence combination rules is proposed and the links with some existed rules are established. A special instance of the PGCR rules referred to as PGCR-A is proposed by using the subsets’ average support degrees as the proportional coefficients. PGCR-A rule can deal with the combination of high conflict evidence. During the process of combination, PGCR-A rule can also automatically determine the weights of the basic belief mass converging to the more specific subsets according to the focal elements’ cardinalities. Since PGCR-A rule is not associative, a modified version is proposed to make it quasi-associative.

A new combination rule based on Dezert-Smarandache theory (DSmT) is proposed to deal with the conflict evidence resulting from the non-exhaustivity of the discernment frame. A two-dimensional measure factor in Dempster-Shafer theory (DST) is extended to DSmT to judge the conflict degree between evidence. The original DSmT combination rule or new DSmT combination rule can be selected for fusion according to this degree. Finally, some examples in simultaneous fault diagnosis of motor rotor are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed combination rule.

In this paper,an improved evidence combination method is proposed to address the paradox problem of Dempster-Shafer theory when dealing with highly conflict *** that the counter-intuitive combination result of Dempster’s theory is related to both the unreliable evidence and the unreasonable distribution of the conflict evidences,the method combines the evidence preprocessing and conflict reassignment *** credibility of each evidence is firstly obtained based on Joussekne’s *** then the original evidences are preprocessed by using the credibility degree as the discounting *** preprocessed evidences are lastly combined by the modified combination rule which distributes the conflict to each combining proposition,also taking the credibility of each evidence into *** numerical examples demonstrate that the modified method can solve the paradox problem dealing with evidence conflict and has high convergent speed.

＜正＞As a popular information fusion method and easy to be combined with other intelligent methods,the Dempster-Shafter（D-S） evidence Theory is more widely usable and can be extended very well in the *** dealing with the deficiency of the evidence conflict,the combination rules of the D-S evidence Theory are improved considering both coherent and incoherent information obtained from multiple *** corresponding experiments and theoretical analysis validate the improved rules can process both highly conflicting and coherent evidence effectively, and reasonable results with better convergence efficiency are given than other rules in the case of highly conflicting evidence *** analyze fuzzy data in uncertain evidential reasoning,the D-S evidence theory was extended to fuzzy *** paper describes a new definition of the similarity degree between two fuzzy sets and the improved extension combination rules of the evidence theory on fuzzy *** with other generalizing combination rules, the results of the numerical experiments show that the new combination rule in this paper can acquire more changing information to the change of fuzzy focal elements more effectively,and it overcomes the insufficiencies of other existing combination rules and enhances the robustness of fusion decision systems effectively.
