A Prior Information Enhanced Extraction Framework for Document-level Financial event Extraction

Document-level financial event extraction(DFEE) is the task of detecting events and extracting the corresponding event arguments in financial documents, which plays an important role in information extraction in the financial domain. This task is challenging as the financial documents are generally long text and event arguments of one event may be scattered in different sentences. To address this issue, we proposed a novel Prior Information Enhanced Extraction framework(PIEE) for DFEE, leveraging prior information from both event types and pre-trained language models. Specifically, PIEE consists of three components: event detection, event argument extraction, and event table filling. In event detection, we identify the event type. Then, the event type is explicitly used for event argument extraction. Meanwhile, the implicit information within language models also provides considerable cues for event arguments localization. Finally, all the event arguments are filled in an event table by a set of predefined heuristic rules. To demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed framework, we participated in the share task of CCKS2020 Task 4-2: Documentlevel event Arguments Extraction. On both Leaderboard A and Leaderboard B, PIEE took the first place and significantly outperformed the other systems.

Focusing on the problem of goal event detection in soccer videos,a novel method based on Hidden Markov Model(HMM) and the semantic rule is ***,a HMM for a goal event is *** a Normalized Semantic Weighted Sum(NSWS) rule is established by defining a new feature of shots,semantic observation *** test video is detected based on the HMM and the NSWS rule,***,a fusion scheme based on logic distance is proposed and the detection results of the HMM and the NSWS rule are fused by optimal weights in the decision level,obtaining the final *** results indicate that the proposed method achieves 96.43% precision and 100% recall,which shows the effectiveness of this letter.

Semantic video analysis plays an important role in the field of machine intelligence and pattern recognition. In this paper, based on the Hidden Markov Model (HMM), a semantic recognition framework on compressed videos is proposed to analyze the video events according to six low-level features. After the detailed analysis of video events, the pattern of global motion and five features in foreground—the principal parts of videos, are employed as the observations of the Hidden Markov Model to classify events in videos. The applications of the proposed framework in some video event detections demonstrate the promising success of the proposed framework on semantic video analysis.

Real-time debris flow monitoring and automated warning system

At present,debris flow warning uses precipitation threshold and issues regional warning throughout the *** threshold warning is less accurate and in most of the time large portion of unaffected population are *** precise warning should use direct *** are many debris flow monitoring stations but no real time warning system in *** main reason is that the identification and confirmation of debris flow occurrence requires human interaction and it is too slow.A debris flow monitoring and warning system has been installed in the midstream section of Yusui Stream,Taiwan *** monitoring station operates fully automatically,providing early warnings without the need for manual *** system comprises two webcam cameras,two Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems(MEMS),and a rain *** arrival of debris flows is detected and confirmed through both webcam images and MEMS *** debris flow is detected,the system automatically issues a warning to the affected areas via voice messages,line messages,broadcasts,and web-based *** webcam cameras are also used to estimate debris flow velocity and flow height,while the MEMS sensors are utilized to determine the phase speed and flow *** July 24th,2014,Typhoon Gaemi triggered several debris flows,and the system successfully issued several warnings *** entire video record,along with depth variation data,was recorded automatically.

Energy-efficiency is one of the major concerns in wireless sensor networks since it impacts the network *** this paper,we investigate the relationship between sensor network performance,particularly its lifetime,and the number of active reporting nodes N by using both analytical and simulation *** first demonstrate that decreasing the number of reporting nodes increases the number of reports that need to be sent to the sink,in order to achieve the desired information reliability regarding the detected *** the other hand,we show that reducing the number of reporting nodes alleviates the energy wastage due to *** on this tradeoff,and as a main contribution,we derive the optimal number of reporting nodes N opt energy that minimizes the energy consumed to report reliably the occurrence of an *** other words,we prove that limiting the reporting tasks of a detected event to a small subset of sensor nodes （i.e.,N opt energy）,instead of using all the sensor nodes in the event area,enables significant energy conservation.
