MINIMAL essential SETS AND essential componentS OF THE EQUILIBRIA OF PRODUCTION ECONOMIES

The purpose of this paper is to give a further study on the stability of production economies. The new results were given by considering the 'set-valued' stability of equilibria. It is proved that there exists at least one minimal essential set of equilibrium points of the economy and every minimal essential set is connected. Based on these results, it is easy to prove that there is at least one essential component of the set of equilibrium points.

Characterization of essential Stability in Lower Pseudocontinuous Optimization Problems

Characterization of essential stability of minimum solutions for a class of optimization problems with boundedness and lower pseudocontinuity on a compact metric space is given. It shows that any optimization problem considered here has one essential component(resp. one essential minimum solution) if and only if its minimum solution set is connected(resp. singleton) and that those optimization problems which have a unique minimum solution form a residual set(however, which need not to be dense).

In this paper,we provethat“most of”problemsin Ky Fan,ssection Theorem (in the sense of Baire category)are essential and that for any problem in Ky Fan’s section Theorem there exists at least one essential component of its solution *** applications,we deduce both the exiStence of essen- tial com-ponents of the set of Ky Fan’S points based on Ky Fan’s minimax inequality Theorem and the existenceof essential components of the set of Nash equilibrium points for general n-person noncooperative gameswith non-concave payoffs.
