This article is part of the ongoing study of the moderate geomagnetic activity of corotation. The aim here is to examine ionospheric anomalies through variations in Total Electronic Content (TEC) recorded at the Koudougou GPS station over solar cycle 24 during periods of corotation activity. Through the diurnal variations by solar phase, we observed a TEC peak at 14:00 TL. The TEC data analysed revealed winter, annual and semi-annual anomalies. However, the equinoctial anomaly was insignificant during corotation activity at the Koudougou station during solar cycle 24.

Efficient Orbit Propagation of Orbital Elements Using Modified Chebyshev Picard Iteration Method

This paper focuses on propagating perturbed two-body motion using orbital elements combined with a novel integration *** previous studies show that Modified Chebyshev Picard Iteration(MCPI)is a powerful tool used to propagate position and velocity,the present results show that using orbital elements to propagate the state vector reduces the number of MCPI iterations and nodes required,which is especially useful for reducing the computation time when including computationally-intensive calculations such as Spherical Harmonic gravity,and it also converges for>5.5x as many revolutions using a single segment when compared with cartesian *** for the Classical Orbital Elements and the Modified equinoctial Orbital Elements(the latter provides singularity-free solutions)show that state propagation using these variables is inherently well-suited to the propagation method *** benefits are achieved using a segmentation scheme,while future expansion to the two-point boundary value problem is expected to increase the domain of convergence compared with the cartesian *** is an iterative numerical method used to solve linear and nonlinear,ordinary differential equations(ODEs).It is a fusion of orthogonal Chebyshev function approximation with Picard iteration that approximates a long-arc trajectory at every *** studies have shown that it outperforms the state of the practice numerical integrators of ODEs in a serial computing environment;since MCPI is inherently massively parallelizable,this capability is expected to increase the computational efficiency of the method presented.

foF2 Seasonal Asymmetry Time Variation at Korhogo Station from 1992 to 2002

foF2 seasonal asymmetry is investigated at Korhogo station from 1992 to 2002. We show that equinoctial asymmetry is less pronounced and somwhere is absent trough out solar cycle phase. In general, the absence of equinoctial asymmetry may be due to the fact that in equinox and for each solar cycle phase, the asymmetry is due to Russell-McPherron mechanism. The solstice anomaly or annual anomaly is always observed throughout solar cycle phase. The minimum value of ΔfoF2 is inferior than −60% seen during all solar cycle phase at 0700 LT. This annual asymmetry may be due to interplanetary corpuscular radiation.
