Considering the difficulty of fuzzy synthetic evaluation method in calculation of the multiple factors and ignorance of the relationship among evaluating objects, a new weight evaluation process using entropy method was introduced. This improved method for determination of weight of the evaluating indicators was applied in water quality assessment of the Three Gorges reservoir area. The results showed that this method was favorable for fuzzy synthetic evaluation when there were more than one evaluating objects. One calculation was enough for calculating every monitoring point. Compared with the original evaluation method, the method predigested the fuzzy synthetic evaluation process greatly and the evaluation results are more reasonable.

A multi-objective performance optimization method is proposed, and the problem that single structural parame- ters of small fan balance the optimization between the static characteristics and the aerodynamic noise is solved. In this method, three structural parameters are selected as the optimization variables. Besides, the static pressure efficiency and the aerodynamic noise of the fan are regarded as the multi-objective performance. Furthermore, the response surface method and the entropy method are used to establish the optimization function between the op- timization variables and the multi-objective performances. Finally, the optimized model is found when the opti- mization function reaches its maximttm value. Experimental data shows that the optimized model not only en- hances the static characteristics of the fan but also obviously reduces the noise. The results of the study will provide some reference for the optimization of multi-objective performance of other types of rotating machinery.

The reliability assessment of unit-system near two levels is the mostimportant content in the reliability multi-level synthesis of complex systems. Introducing theinformation theory into system reliability assessment, using the addible characteristic ofinformation quantity and the principle of equivalence of information quantity, an entropy method ofdata information conversion is presented for the system consisted of identical exponential *** basic conversion formulae of entropy method of unit test data are derived based on the principleof information quantity equivalence. The general models of entropy method synthesis assessment forsystem reliability approximate lower limits are established according to the fundamental principleof the unit reliability assessment. The applications of the entropy method are discussed by way ofpractical examples. Compared with the traditional methods, the entropy method is found to be validand practicable and the assessment results are very satisfactory.

Due to the characteristics of variable quantity and great individual difference in group evaluation,an effective entropy-based method for group performance evaluation was proposed. First,a group evaluation indexing system was built upon the real scenarios of universities. Then, a continuous ordered weighted operator was introduced to eliminate uncertainty evaluation information. By using an entropy strategy,a systematic approach to group performance evaluation was established. Finally, an illustrative example was provided,showing the practicability of the proposed methods in real applications of the efficient performance appraisal theory of colleges and universities.

Taking five scenic spots in southeast region of Tibet as research objects,this paper calculated the weight of plant landscape evaluation system by entropy weight method,and compared the plant landscape in scenic spots from aesthetic effect,ecological harmony and service functions. The results show that the rank of the comprehensive attributes from high to low is as follows: Nanyigou,Lulang Forest,Kading Mountain Waterfall,Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon,and Basomtso Lake.

The tourism industry is a strategic pillar industry in China,and its performance evaluation has been a focus of research in the academic circle of tourism *** the basis of making clear the connotations of tourism industry performance,this paper establishes an evaluation index system for tourism industry performance from such five aspects as of economic income,tourism employment,tourism person-time,tourism industry and tourism transportation,and then adopts the entropy method to make a comprehensive evaluation for the tourism industry performance in Xinjiang during a period of 2005~***,this paper pertinently proposes the strategies for promoting the development of the tourism industry in Xinjiang from such four aspects as of enhancing the collaboration between the tourism industry and transportation departments,strengthening the inter-regional cooperation on tourism in Xinjiang,making integration in the tourism industry and consolidating the macroscopic adjustment and control of government and the assurance of social security,in expectation of providing references for making decisions on improving the tourism industry performance in Xinjiang.

[Objective] The aim was to study the coupling relationship between economic development and ecological environment. [method] Firstly, the evaluation index system for the coupling system of economic development and ecological environment in Xi’an City was established, then the dynamic variation of coupling relationship between economic development and ecological environment in Xi’an City from 2001 to 2010 was analyzed by using entropy method, finally some corresponding suggestions were put forward according to the problems in the current development model. [Result] The economic development and ecological environment of Xi’an have made a significant upgrading and improvement from 2001 to 2010, namely showing a stable upward trend on the whole, and were in a well-coordinated development state in 2010. However, the development level of ecological environment obviously lagged behind economic development level. In addition, there were obvious differences in the development rate of sub-systems, that is, economic efficiency and economic level developed rapidly, while the carrying capacity of ecological environment and economic vitality grew slowly and unstably. [Conclusion] The research could provide theoretical bases for the establishment of strategies for the coordinated development economy and environment in Xi’an City.

Markov forecasting model is applicable for data fluctuation interval estimation and *** is important to determine the weighting in model evaluation to avoid *** order to close the gap,comparison studies are performed on prediction accuracy and weighting coefficient selection among Markov chain model,grey model and ARIMA ***,a new grey Markov forecasting model based on entropy method is established to predict stock *** analysis shows that it is an effective method,because it is more reliable and more accurate than the aforementioned models.

Two dimensional(2 D) entropy method has to pay the price of time when applied to image segmentation. So the genetic algorithm is introduced to improve the computational efficiency of the 2 D entropy method. The proposed method uses both the gray value of a pixel and the local average gray value of an image. At the same time, the simple genetic algorithm is improved by using better reproduction and crossover operators. Thus the proposed method makes up the 2 D entropy method’s drawback of being time consuming, and yields satisfactory segmentation results. Experimental results show that the proposed method can save computational time when it provides good quality segmentation.

To obtain improved comprehensive crashworthiness criteria for a B-type subway train,the infuence laws of the vehicle design collision weight M and empty stroke D on the train’s collision responses were investigated,and multiobjective optimization and decision-making were performed to minimize TS(total compression displacement along the moving train)and TAMA(the overall mean acceleration along the moving train).Firstly,a one-dimensional train collision dynamics model was established and verifed by comparing with the results of the fnite element ***,based on the dynamics model,the infuence laws of M and D on the collision responses,such as the energy-absorbing devices’displacements and absorbed energy,vehicles’velocity and acceleration,TS,TAMA and the coupling correlation efect were ***,surrogate models for TS and TAMA were developed using the optimal Latin hypercube method(OLHD)and response surface method(RSM),and multi-objective optimization was conducted using the particle swarm optimization algorithm method(MPOSO).Finally,the entropy method was used to obtain the weight coefcients for TS and TAMA,and multi-objective decision-making was *** results indicate that D and M signifcantly afect the compression displacements and energy absorption of the frst three collision interfaces,but have limited impact on the last three collision *** velocity versus time curves of vehicle M1 and M2 are shifted and parallel with diferent ***,the velocity versus time curves of all the vehicles are shifted but gradually divergent with diferent *** maximum collision instantaneous accelerations of the vehicles are directly determined by M,but are only slightly afected by *** the coupling efect,all concerned collision responses are strongly correlated with M;however,the responses are weakly correlated with D except for the compression displacement at the M2-M3 collision interface and the maximum collision instantaneous acceleration
