Poor student achievement is often attributed to a lack of motivation and rewards.Students with learning disabilities are very often unmotivated because school is one failure after another to them.Teachers are having a hard time assessing what could be the aid for language learning.This study used the descriptive-survey research method.It is arranged to gather information about the present existing condition.The participants of this study consisted of 40 grade nine students from Mariveles National High School-Sisiman II S.Y.2016-2017.The questionnaire was divided into five parts—(A)Self Efficacy,(B)Intrinsic Motivation,(C)english Learning Value,(D)Performance Goal,and(E)Achievement Goal.Based on this study’s findings,some relevant and useful motivational learning implications are recommended for enhancement and improvement of the students’motivation.Relevant language improvement programs and activities are also discussed in accordance with the students’language difficulties as communicated in the open-ended questions to increase their motivation in english language learning.

Sexism is a kind of social discriminations which universally exists in every countries and social systems. language should be equal to everybody no matter men or women. However language is the carrier of society and culture. It reflects certain values of society and certain thinking methods of people. Thus, sexism also universally exists in language. english is the most widely used language in the world, and the sexism in english language is also the most typical. To analyze sexism in english language, it's better to start with the causes, and then think about how to avoid this discrimination according to various forms of expression, finally eliminate the sexism in english language.

In english language teaching, Grammar-translation Method(GTM) and Direct Method(DM) are two fundamental but significant methods, these two methods are the most useful and widely accepted, but each of them emphasizes differently in some aspects. The research mainly aimed to find out that whether students who had access to large amounts of english fiction and non-fiction texts such as english novel, science books or newspapers would get higher results in english exams than other learners. In addition, the research tried to figure out what kinds of english fiction and non-fiction texts enjoy tremendous popularity among english language learners. Questionnaire and interview were used to collect data. A total of 62 students in the third grade in english major of Anhui Agriculture University in China were involved in the questionnaire research. The TEM 4 english national test was used to judge students’ english level.

Nowadays, an increasing number of strategies are offered to language learners, but whether these strategies can meet learners’ expectations and preference still needs us to investigate. There is also a fact that many students, especially for university students find it boring and useless for them to study in the class, as a result, they kill time by means of playing their mobile phones. In order to analyze this factor, we ask 20 students in China to finish our questionnaires online and they all learn english as a foreign language. Among them, 10 students are high school students and the rests are university students, who are mostly first-year students. We seek to find students preferred classroom learning activities by analyzing four main types of leaning styles and learning strategies, that is, communicative activities, non-communicative activities, receptive activities and productive activities Then, this paper finds that students prefer communicative activities, and it gives some suggestions on how teacher should adopt different methods to meet different students’ demand.

Sexism is a phenomenon that exists to a varying extent in different societies and nations. As a mirror of society and a communicating tool, language reflects the social views and values. Thus, the phenomenon of sexism will naturally, be reflected in the use of language. This thesis will probe sexism in english in terms of word formation, word order and word meaning. Then the thesis analyzes the reasons for the existence of sexism in the english language and proposes some measures to eliminate the linguistic sexism. However, only by removing the sexist conception and improving women's social status can linguistic sexism get eliminated. Gender equality is most essential precondition to realize linguistic equality.
