Waxy crude oil emulsion has thixotropic properties at the temperature near gel point,which is a macromechanical characterization of the structure failure and recovery of waxy crude oil emulsion.In this paper,the thixotropic behaviors of waxy crude oil emulsion near gel point were studied using hysteresis loop formed by stress linear increase and decrease,as well as the structural recovery characteristics.The influence of the loading conditions and water content on the thixotropy of waxy crude oil emulsion were analyzed with hysteresis loop area.The concept of"structural recovery"was introduced to study the degree of structural recovery after different stewing,and influencing factors were taken into account.Results have shown that for waxy crude oil emulsion,the failure to fully restore of the structure after lysis is the cause of the formation of hysteresis loop,and the loading conditions will not affect the strength of thixotropy and the degree of structural recovery.Additionally,the dispersed phase droplets weaken the thixotropy and structure recovery characteristics of waxy crude oil emulsion,and the greater the water content,the weaker the thixotropy.The findings can help to better understand the safe and economic operation of waxy crude oil-water pipeline transportation.

The hadronic and string cascade model and the corresponding event generator LUCIAE are used to study systematically the production of the grey particles in (14.6, 60 and 200 A GeV)O+Em, (200A GeV)Si+Em, (200 A GeV) S+Em and (11.6A GeV)Au+Em reactions. The dependences of the mean multiplicity, the multiplicity distributions and the polar angular distributions of the grey particles on the incident energy, the projectile mass and the collision centrality observed in emulsion experiments, respectively, are all reproduced by LUCIAE calculations. In addition the effects of the rescattering on the grey particle production are also investigated.

The influences of an anionic-nonionic composite surfactant and petroleum sulfonate, used in surfactant-polymer flooding in Shengli Gudong oilfield, East China, on the interfacial properties of Gudong crude model oil and synthetic formation water was studied by measuring interfacial tension, interfacial viscoelasticity and Zeta potential. The in？ uence of the surfactants on the stability of Gudong water-in-oil （W/O） and oil-in-water （O/W） emulsions was evaluated by separating water from the W/O emulsion and residual oil in the aqueous phase of the O/W emulsion respectively. The results showed that the two kinds of surfactants, namely anionic-nonionic composite surfactant and petroleum sulfonate, are both able to decrease the interfacial tension between the oil phase and the aqueous phase and increase the surface potential of the oil droplets dispersed in the O/W emulsion, which can enhance the stability of the W/O and O/W crude oil emulsions. Compared with petroleum sulfonate, the anionic-nonionic composite surfactant is more interfacially active and able to enhance the strength of the interfacial film between oil and water, hence enhance the stability of the W/O and O/W emulsions more effectively.

Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) colloid stabilized Polyvinyl acetate (PVAc) based wood adhesive has poor performance in highly humid conditions. Currently, the addition of natural fillers in the wood adhesive is one of the most effective ways to enhance the performance of PVAc wood adhesive in highly moist conditions. Microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) are strong renewable, bio-based material and has great potential in a reinforcement of the polymeric matrix. Hence, the present work investigates the applicability of microcrystalline cellulose incorporated 3% and 5% in situ emulsion polymerization PVAc wood adhesives. Effect on physical, thermal and mechanical properties was studied by viscosity, pH, contact angle measurement, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and pencil hardness test of films. emulsions with different proportions of MCC were prepared and the shear strength of the applied adhesive on wood was measured. The viscosity of the adhesives was increased by increasing the concentration of MCC. The mechanical properties like tensile strength of adhesives with MCC were measured by universal tensile machine (UTM). Thermal stability was studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The tensile shear strength demonstrates that MCC can improve bonding strength as compared to PVAc Homo based adhesive in the wet condition which was validated through a contact angle study. The hardness of PVAc films were also changed positively by the addition of MCC. Here, we studied the effect of the addition of different concentrations of MCC materials in situ polymerization of PVAc on their performance properties.

The dynamic process of purifying emulsion using electromagnetic technique has been analyzed and studied by dynamics principle. Based on the results, the purification equipment has been developed and installed in a cold rolling mill. The basic structure characteristics of the purification equipment were described in detail. emulsion purified by this way can be recycled and used again with cost reduction.

Based on deep analysis of ASP/oil emulsions flow behavior characteristic,a mathematical description of non-Newtonian emulsion was developed,and variation of rheological behaviors along the percolation flow direction was given.The effects of emulsions rheological behavior on oil recovery were quantity researched by a 2-D positive rhythm profile geological model.The result shows that the high viscosity and reduction of water phase permeability by emulsification can improve low-middle layer flow rate and enhance sweep efficiency,and the enhancement degree is related with emulsification degree.The study result can be used as reference for scheme design and production performance forecast during ASP flooding.

In this study,we examined the effect of transglutaminase(TG)cross-linking time(0 h,2 h,4 h,8 h,and 12 h)on the stability of limonene emulsion loaded by microwave-heated WPI(MWPI).Size exclusion chromatography results showed that molecular weight of TG-treated MWPI and WPI was enhanced with the increase in TG cross-linking time(0–12 h).Microwave and TG cross-linking decreased particle size(7.55%)and increasedζ-potential(5.33%)and protein adsorption(4.58%)of WPI emulsion at TG cross-linking time of 12 h.CLSM results showed smaller droplet size of MWPI-TG emulsion and its uniform size.The obtained limonene emulsion loaded by MWPI-TG at 12 h showed the lowest creaming index and the strongest oxidative stability under aerobic conditions after 10th days of storage.Thus,the combination of microwave heating and TG cross-linking effectively enhanced the stability of limonene emulsion stabilized by WPI and facilitating the application of WPI in the fields of food,medicine,cosmetics,and other areas.

An O / W emulsion non-solvent addition method was used to prepare ethyleellulose (EC) microcapsules of water soluble pharmaceutical (theophylline). The solvent and non-solvent reagents used in this work were toluene and cyclohexane. The effects of polymer concentration, core wall ratio and particle size on the kinetics as well as the dissolution rate of the drug were investigated. The results show that the dissolution rate increases with the increasing of polymer concentration and core wall ratio. The release of microcapsules prepared with different procedures can be selectively profiled with first order and Higuchi matrix kinetic models.
