Efficient continuous-wave （CW） intracavity frequency doubling of a diode-end-pumped Nd：GdVO4 laser operating on ^4F3/2 - ^4I9/2 transitions at 912 nm has been demonstrated. A symmetrical cavity with two laser rods is designed, which divides the pump power between the two laser rods, allowing for greater power scalability. An 18-mm-long BiBO crystal, cut for critical type I phase matching, is used for the intracavity frequency-doubled laser. A maximum output power of 6.2 W in the blue spectral range at 456 nm has been achieved with the pump power of 36 W. The beam quality M2 value is 2.5 in both horizontal and vertical directions. The ellipticity of the deep blue laser is 0.98, and the power stability is better than 3.2% at the maximum output power.

Er^3＋-doped phosphor-tellurite glass for broadband short-length Er^3＋-doped fiber amplifier （EDFA） is fabricated and characterized. The differential value （AT） of onset crystalline temperature （Tx） and glass transition temperature （Tg） is 206 ℃. The stimulated emission cross section of Er^3＋ is calculated from absorption spectrum by McCumber theory and is 0.87 × 10 ^-20 cm^2 at 1532 nm. A broad 1.5-μm fluorescence spectrum with 54-nm full-width at half maximum （FWHM） is demonstrated. Especially, the maximum phonon energy of undoped phosphor-tellurite glass is 1100 cm^- 1, which restricts the upconversion luminescence. It is possible to pump efficiently at 980 nm. These results indicate Er^3＋-doped phosphor-tellurite glass is suitable for fabricating broadband short-length EDFA.

The operation of an ultra-narrow bandwidth optical filter based on the 5P3/2→5D3/2 excited-state transition in rubidium vapor is reported. The 5D3/2 state is excited by a circularly polarized pump beam at 780 nm from a diode laser. The filter displays a single 398-MHz bandwidth at a peak transmission of 9.0%, which is narrower than the Doppler bandwidth. The dependence of peak transmission on the pump intensity and cell temperature is also given.

AlPO_4 mesoporous glass doped with perylene orange（PO） is prepared using two *** effects of dipping time and PO concentration on the fluorescent properties and molecular formation are investigated through absorption spectra,excitation spectra,and emission spectra.A slight increase in the intensity of excitation bands formed at 499 and 468 nm is ascribed to PO J-dimers aggregates as the dipping time increased from 2 to 24 h at high PO concentration（4×10-3 mol/L）.This is also the reason behind the concentration increase from 4×10-6 to 4×10-3 mol/L for the 16 h *** excitation spectra,and the emission spectra of samples doped with PO show a slight red shift as the dipping time and the PO concentration ***_4 mesoporous glass is suitable to host the PO at high concentration.

Nd^(3+)-doped tellurite glass and a single mode tellurite glass fiber with a core diameter of 8 μm were prepared in this work. The 1.33-μm emission from the ~4F_(3/2)→~4I_(13/2) transition of Nd^(3+) with a spectral bandwidth of 55 nm in tellurite glass fiber is observed. The lifetime of 164 μs of ~4F_(3/2) level and quantum efficiency of about 100% are obtained.

A direct link between band structure and the ballistic transport property of full-Heusler alloys based Co2YZ/Al/Co2YZ trilayers (Y = Sc, Ti, V, Cr, Mn and Fe; Z = Al, Si and Ge) has been studied by firstprinciples calculations. It is found that the transport efficiency is determined primarily by three factors related to band structure: the shape of the band crossing Fermi energy EF, the distance d of the two intersection points of Co2YZ and Al at EF, and the absolute maximum of the energy lying in the EF-crossing band, |Emax|. The transmission coefficient distribution patterns imply that the affected factor of magneto-resistance (MR) ratio is attributed to the band features around EF. In general, an intuitively illustrated diagram is proposed to clarify the relationship between the probability of electron transition and the current magnitude. © 2017, Shanghai Jiaotong University and Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany.

ZnO nanorods prepared by a solution-phase method are annealed at different temperatures in oxygen *** luminescence properties of the samples are *** the same excitation condition,the photoluminescence(PL) spectra of all samples show an ultraviolet(UV) emission and a broad strong visible emission *** asymmetric visible emis-sion band of annealed samples has a red-shift as the annealing temperature increasing from 200 ℃ to 600 ℃ and it can be deconvoluted into two subband emissions centered at 535 nm(green emission) and 611 nm(orange-red emission) by Gaussian-fitting *** of PL excitation(PLE) spectra and PL spectra at different excitation wavelengths reveal that the green emission and the orange-red emission have a uniform initial state,which can be attributed to the electron transition from Zn interstitial(Zni) to oxygen vacancy(Vo) and oxygen interstitial(Oi),respectively.
