Numerical investigation on electron effects in the mass transfer of the plasma species in aqueous solution

The objective of this work is to contribute an understanding of the effects of electrons in the plasmas on the mass transfer of plasma species in aqueous solution by means of the numerical simulation based on a one-dimensional diffusion-reaction *** plasma species are divided into two groups,*** and the other species,and the mass transfer in the three scenarios has been simulated,including the systematic calculations of the depth distributions of five major reactive species,OH,O3,HO2,O2^-,and *** the three scenarios,the particles considered to enter into aqueous solution are all the plasma species(the scenario Ⅰ,where the mass transfer of plasma species is a result due to the synergy of the electrons and the other plasma species),the other species(the scenario Ⅱ),and only electrons in plasma species(the scenario Ⅲ),*** detailed analyses on the difference between the depth distributions of each reactive species in these three scenarios show the following *** electrons play an important role in the mass transfer of plasma species in aqueous solution and the synergy of the electrons and the other plasma species(the electron-species synergy)presents its different effects on the mass *** vast majority of H2O2 are generated from a series of the electronrelated reactions in aqueous solution,which is hardly affected by the electron-species *** to the results when only the electrons enter into the liquid region,the electron-species synergy evidently weakens the generation of O2^-,O3,and OH,but promotes to produce HO2.

Polyaniline-supported iron catalyst for selective synthesis of lower olefins from syngas

Uniform iron nanoparticles dispersed on polyaniline have been used as catalysts for the direct conversion of synthesis gas into lower olefins. As compared to active carbon and N-doped active carbon, polyaniline as a support of Fe catalysts showed higher selectivity of lower olefins(C2–4=). The C2–4=selectivity reached50% at a CO conversion of 79% over a 10 wt% Fe/polyaniline catalyst without any *** XRD, H2-TPR, TEM and HRTEM studies revealed that the presence of nitrogen-containing groups in polyaniline structure could promote the dispersion and reduction of iron oxides, forming higher fraction of iron carbides with smaller mean sizes and narrower size distributions. The propylene-TPD result indicates that the use of polyaniline support facilitates the desorption of lower olefins, thus suppressing the consecutive hydrogenation to form undesirable lower paraffins.

Suppressing the surface passivation of Pt-Mo nanowires via constructing Mo-Se coordination for boosting HER performance

Modulating the surface coordination environment of Pt based nanocrystals at the atomic level is of great importance to obtain good electrocatalytic *** the fundamental understandings of surface structure degeneration of Pt based nanocrystals,introducing a weak electronegative element to the surface of Pt-based catalysts is beneficial for suppressing surface passivation and improving hydrogen evolution reaction performance of *** functional theory results reveal that the energy barrier of water dissociation process can be greatly reduced by using Se element as the surface modifier to replace the *** hypothesis is further validated by experiments that ultralong Pt_(85)Mo_(15)-Se nanowires were fabricated to suppress the excessive passivation behavior of transition metals of Pt based *** Pt_(85)Mo_(15)-Se nanowires exhibit higher activity with 4.98 times the specific activity and 4.87 times the mass activity of commercial Pt/C,as well as a better stability towards alkaline hydrogen evolution *** deep exploration of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and theoretical calculations disclose that Se element could maintain the electron-rich state around the electronic orbit of *** study provides a new insight to advance the fundamental understanding on electrocatalytic materials,which exhibits a promising approach to protect the surface chemical environment of Pt based nanocrystals.
