In the existing electricity market,the traditional power suppliers and renewable energy generators coexist in the power supply side. In the power supply side,renewable energy generators generate power by wind and other natural conditions,leading renewable energy output a certain randomness. However,the low marginal generating cost and the reduction of carbon emissions,and thus brings a certain advantage for renewable energy compared to alternative energy. electricity,as a special commodity,stable and adequate power supply is a necessary guarantee for economic and social development. Power shortage situation is not allowed in the power system,and the extra power needs to be handled for the purpose of safety. In this paper,the hybrid power generated by renewable energy generators and traditional energy generators is used as power supply,and then the electricity market sells hybrid power to electricity consumers,the hybrid power system determines the optimal daytimeprice,nighttime price,and the optimal installed capacity of the renewable energy suppliers. We find that the installed capacity of renewable energy increases first and then decreases with the increase of the price sensitivity coefficient of traditional energy supply. electricity demand is negatively related to electricity price in the current period,and is positively related to price in the other period. The average price of day and night is only related to the total potential demand of day and night and the total generation probability of renewable energy. The price difference between daytime and nighttime is positively related to potential electricity demand,and negatively related to the sensitivity coefficient of electricity price.

An electricity price model with consideration to load and gas price effect

Some characteristics of the electricity load and prices are studied, and the relationship between electricity prices and gas (fuel) prices is analyzed in this paper. Because electricity prices are strongly dependent on load and gas prices, the authors constructed a model for electricity prices based on the effects of these two factors; and used the Geometric Mean Reversion Brownian Motion (GMRBM) model to describe the electricity load process, and a Geometric Brownian Motion(GBM) model to describe the gas prices; deduced the price stochastic process model based on the above load model and gas price model. This paper also presents methods for parameters estimation, and proposes some methods to solve the model.

This study proposes an optimized model of a micro-energy network(MEN)that includes electricity and natural gas with integrated solar,wind,and energy storage systems(ESSs).The proposed model is based on energy hubs(EHs)and it aims to minimize operation costs and greenhouse *** research is motivated by the increasing use of renewable energies and ESSs for secure energy supply while reducing operation costs and environment effects.A general algebraic modeling system(GAMS)is used to solve the optimal operation problem in the *** results demonstrate that an optimal MEN formed by multiple EHs can provide appropriate and flexible responses to fluctuations in electricity prices and adjustments between time periods and *** also yields significant reductions in operation costs and *** proposed model can contribute to future research by providing a more efficient network model(as compared with the traditional electricity supply system)to scale down the environmental and economic impacts of electricity storage and supply systems on MEN operation.

Hybrid Scenario Generation Method for Stochastic Virtual Bidding in electricity Market

Stochastic optimization can be used to generate optimal bidding strategies for virtual bidders in which the uncertain electricity prices are represented by using *** paper proposes a hybrid scenario generation method for electricity price using a seasonal autoregressive integrated moving average(SARIMA)model and historical *** electricity price spikes are first identified by using an outlier detection ***,the historical data are decomposed into base and spike ***,the base and spike component scenarios are generated by using the SARIMA-and historical data-based methods,***,the electricity price scenarios are obtained by combining the base and spike component *** studies are carried out for a virtual bidder in the PJM electricity market to validate the proposed *** optimal bidding strategies of the virtual bidder are generated by solving a stochastic optimization problem using the electricity price scenarios generated by the proposed method,the SARIMA method,and a historical data-based method,*** study results show that the proposed method is better than the SARIMA method in preserving statistical properties of the electricity price in the generated scenarios and is better than the historical data-based method in predicting the future trend of the electricity price and,therefore,can help the virtual bidder earn more profit in the electricity market.

Estimation of cost savings from participation of electric vehicles in vehicle to grid(V2G)schemes

The storage capacity of the batteries in an electric vehicle(EV)could be utilised to store electrical energy and give it back to the grid when needed by participating in vehicle to grid(V2G)*** participation could be a source of revenue for vehicle owners thus reducing the total charging cost of their EVs.A V2G simulator has been developed using MATLAB to find out the potential cost saving from participation of EVs in V2G schemes.A standard IEEE30 network has been modelled in the simulator which uses the MATPOWER engine to undertake power flow analysis.A novel control algorithm has been developed to take advantage of the difference between the selling and buying electricity prices by charging and discharging EVs at the appropriate *** scenarios are simulated to compare the total charging cost of EVs with or without the utilisation of V2G technology within the power system assuming a total of 5000 *** results of the simulation show that the applied control strategy with V2G is able to reduce the charging cost of EVs by 13.6%while satisfying the minimum requirement for state of charge(SoC)of the EV batteries to complete their next journey.

Energy hub modeling to minimize residential energy costs considering solar energy and BESS

This paper aims to optimize total energy costs in an operational model of a novel energy hub(EH) in a residential area. The optimization problem is set up based on daily load demand(such as electricity, heat, and cooling) and time-of-use(TOU) energy prices. The extended EH model considers the involvement of solar photovoltaic(PV) generation, solar heat exchanger(SHE), and a battery energy storage system(BESS). A mathematical model is constructed with the objective of optimizing total energy cost during the day, including some constraints such as input-output energy balance of the EH, electricity price,capacity limitation of the system, and charge/discharge power of BESS. Four operational cases based on different EH structures are compared to assess the effect of solar energy applications and BESS on the operational efficiency. The results show that the proposed model predicts significant changes to the characteristics of electricity and gas power bought from utilities, leading to reduced total energy cost compared to other cases. They also indicate that the model is appropriate for the characteristics of residential loads.
